This demonstration by American mixed-media sculptor Lynn Whitford was initially recorded in 1986, taking the form of an audio cassette and a batch of 35mm slides. We recently digitized both in our lab, then edited them into a simple 20-minute video that details the basic process of raising copper, magically turning raw stock into objects of stunning and graceful beauty. The tools and fundamental techniques are clearly explained, and many budding artists over the years have been introduced to the medium by this presentation.
