I have reversed all symptoms of my celiac disease, leaky gut and chronic fatigue with diet and lifestyle. I have also suffered from alopecia, anxiety and brain fog which have resolved without the use of medication.
My AIP journey included a few troubleshooting steps because of histamine issues and unique intolerances but now I feel amazing! I feel better in my 40’s than I ever have in my life!
I started AIP in November 2015 and have learned so much on my journey that I want to share with you! I follow AIP without a dishwasher or oven (or microwave!) and on a budget with very little spare time. I truly believe that if I can do AIP then so can you and I want to show you how!

Awesome, thank you for the recipe, I'm so making this with my next shrimp batch! As for removing shells, I always found that removing them when the shrimp is still raw works best, the shell slides off the flesh a lot more easily. I get mine fresh but I guess that with frozen shrimp you'd just have to wait for them to thaw first.

Shrimp, run a fork tine down the belly side, split the skin, then pull the shrimp out in one go. You can also do the same with a wire hanger, cut a piece, bend the end a little, then use it to split the seam and clean the vein in one go. I do that with forks too. I'm going to make this! Loved this video. I wanted to watch ballantyne's FX talk on the microbiome but can't seem to find a link? This recipe looks so good. Unfortunately I'm allergic to shrimp. I used to love it love it. I learn so much from you. And I'm always inspired by you, even when I can't manage the recipe. I put the word out to my friends that I was looking for a hand-me-down food processor and today I'm getting a top of the line Barely Used machine for free. AWESOME news about the food processor! Total game changer, you have great friends!🤩 I can't seem to find the video on her site either! If I do I will post here. First you can take out all the legs at once and then start from the head end taking large scales at once and finally take the tail off (if your shrimp is the complete thing start by taking out the head twisting and pulling at the same time)

To easily peel shrimp, stick a fork tine under the shell along the back of the shrimp where the head was detached and drag it along the length of the back to the tail. That will open the shell so it's easy to remove and dig out the waste at the same time.

I just found your channel and I am amazed at how informative you are and your skills in the kitchen. I have hidradenities suppurativa and began AIP one year ago. I am wondering what your take on gum acacia and inulin fiber is for getting fiber in the diet. I find I cannot eat a ton of veges and right now no fruit and trying to figure out ways to get more fiber. I have googled this but your opinion I really trust, if you have the time to answer. Thank you for your channel!.
@RealWorldAIP
@RealWorldAIP 5 лет назад
Are you on a SIBO or candida diet? Low Fodmap? Keto? Or other reason for the low veggies and no fruit? That would make a big difference in which fibers might work or not work for you! Acacia is soluble, which means it is fermentable so it might cause issues if you have something like SIBO. Inulin is a prebiotic, also soluble and has potential to cause issues but is also really beneficial if tolerated, it's a form of FOS, feeds the good guys! Tigernuts are a great source of insoluble fiber.

@@RealWorldAIP I find that high glycemic gives me flares so that's why I seem to be in remission on low to no fruit. I have sweet potato every day so not keto low but close to it. My body seems to not like fruit. I have reactions to kale and mushrooms too or any amount of too much raw veges, sluggish digestion for the latter, it does not cause flares but more bloat. Lots of arugula is fine though. I have a huge yeast allergy that gives flares big time but not sure if this every became Candida. I figure it out on my own with intuition. Not sure about SIBO or Candida. I have been taking the Acacia and Inulin/Chicory and testing it out. both seem to feel good but then it's sometimes hard to tell cause I have a bloated stomach a lot. Also, peri-menopause just began. Pin pointing the culprits and what works is always very messy for me. Thank you for your reply. Tiger nuts seem to kick off my food addict cravings (the sugar content I think) as do any AIP flours, I stay off of them. It's as if my body prefers no fruit and no flours at all...but the tiger nuts alone may be ok, I eat them sometimes....
@bloomiverse
@bloomiverse 5 лет назад
ps: thank you for the information! i don't feel I have Candida or SIBO, no brain fog, plenty of energy. I feel it's more sluggish digestion, liver, peri-menopuase and the big yeast allergy culprit. I also notice on low carb how my body seems to just feel more balanced. So, just trying to listen and also wake up the belly, so often disconnected.Thinking maybe the year of AIP thus far has healed much of the gut and liver and all the organs. HS is a weird autoimmune disease to understand. Your knowledge is so awesome and thorough. Best channel I have come across.

Hi Stacy! I have a question about saturated fat. So the microbiom doesn't like it, right? Is it the same for coconut oil and coconut in general? Most of the saturated fat I eat do come from coconut and I sometimes exceed the 15%. What would you suggest? Should I use other oils instead? Thank you so much!!
@RealWorldAIP

She says the medium chain triglycerides in coconut oil are not bad for the microbiome, but olive oil is really the superstar. I wouldn't stop using the coconut oil completely but it might be beneficial to add in some olive oil 💗

Where can I find the new Reintro stages? Shouldn't the kindle version of the book update itself to a new version? So Lentis are paleo again? Regarding Shrimp: Dont you have to remove the vein from the shrimp before eating it as the vein carriers the waste products. Removing the veins requires removing the shells.
@RealWorldAIP
@RealWorldAIP 5 лет назад
No, Lentils are not Paleo or AIP. I reintroduced them, so I guess I am not strictly Paleo if I eat them once in awhile, but I will always keep my video recipes 100% elimination phase compliant for you🙂 I think I have healed more and more gradually over the last year or so because I keep testing my limits with histamine rich foods and so far am not having reactions like I used to! I still don't drink wine or kombucha or anything really high, but I've been okay with balsamic vinegar lately and some other things...yay! If the shrimp are cooked it is safe to eat the vein, some people might think it is gross though. It doesn't bother me, I can't tell the difference, lol. Vit D from sun is a great idea. My theory is that the reason people with autoimmune disease don’t do well with keto is because most are insulin resistant with hyperinsulinemia, and the keto meals spike insulin without raising blood sugar, hence the excess insulin creates hypoglycemia/adrenal response (not an electrolyte problem). BUT, endogenous ketosis (I.e. Keto with intermittent fasting) works well to lower insulin and increase fat-adaptation,. I got the idea from this article: optimisingnutrition.com/2017/04/30/are-ketones-insulinogenic-and-does-it-matter/

I love oyster mushrooms, they're amazing. Forget about crickets. Ever since I was a kid and saw our cat kill one, and a horsehair worm came out of it, blech. I live in Europe and we were recently in Italy and I brought home some local produced EVOO. Man that stuff is delicious. Keto trashed my kidneys. I wasn't doing it "wrong." But then, it doesn't take much to do it "wrong." I can't agree with her about alkaline water, though I don't make a point to drink it. Most water is too acidic because of acid rain, caused by fossil fuels and coal. Yes, even all that car exhaust. It used to be naturally alkaline before all that. I agree, browning veggies seems very odd. Here's a great video on shelling a shrimp. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WXKfcXzsPN0.html

@RealWorldAIP 5 лет назад
Thank you so much for the shrimp video, I've been doing it the hard way for sure, lol! Interesting about the alkaline water! Her argument was that we want the stomach to be acidic. Just drinking alkaline water might not even change the stomach's acidity level one iota- who knows. I haven't dug deeper to see if there are studies on that.
@PeaceOutWorld
@PeaceOutWorld 5 лет назад
@@RealWorldAIP From normal to excessive carbon dioxide in the air, that alone will increase water acidity. At the height of the acid rain problem, sulfur dioxide from burning coal drifted into the atmosphere and lowered the pH of rainwater (acid rain). I mean, ok, water should be slightly acidic with normal amounts of carbon dioxide in the air, but we've polluted it and it's more acidic than it once was. "Clean" or unpolluted rain has a slightly acidic pH of 5.6. Alkaline water is >7. But you can make it naturally alkaline by adding sliced lemon, lime or cucumber for example - and who doesn't love fresh lemonade? That would be kind of like her telling folks not to drink lemon water, which makes no sense to me.

Yeah, keto realy does not work for women as well as for men and it is very specialised, and it is prone to mess with your mood , even if it works in the sense of getting you into ketosis, which realy does not for all people. Everything "healthy" has beside its health benifits a down side and it is so fucking individuel which one plays out for you. I do great on plantbased protein, but its sources are not aip cause they mess with a lot of people . . . I pray that I can reintroduce them . . . but I always resented soya for some reason
