I love how Lysanne just up and gives a Baby anatomy lesson throughout the video. Causal "Babies don't have knee caps" and baby mobility depends on the deepening of the hip socket, like what?!? My mind was completely blown! Great content, tons to learn, wonderful as always :)

Me, who has neither scoliosis nor a baby: yes i absolutely need to watch this (A delightful video as always, thanks Jessica!)

There are so many people who are telling you, that you shouldn't or can't be a parent (one of them Was me to myself so...) because you are queer or trans or disabled. And seeing Jessica, being the wonderfull and strong mother she is, makes me feel good. And gives me so much hope and confidence.

My favorite part of this is how Lysanne acknowledges your disabilities and worries but also explains how those worries are common amongst all parents. I love her accessibility and reassurance!

As a currently pregnant mom to be with a 43 upper curve and 38 lower curve this may be the most perfectly targeted video for me

At the risk of unleashing a hate-storm upon myself… I am child free by choice, I don’t want kids, and I’m not particularly fond of children anyways. I still watch ALL of your videos. For some reason the way you explain things, and your styling, articulation, and the way you present information, keeps me engaged even if it’s a topic that doesn’t pertain to me in the slightest. 😅

As someone who has struggled with fertility and gone through the mourning process of never being able to have another baby I never would have thought I could watch content about babies… Then my favorite influencer couple had a baby and I am so happy for them it completely eclipses the pain I usually feel when etching such content.

I love the tip about the wraps that fit parents of different sizes. There's a 15cm (6in) difference in height between my husband and I. Ideally we want to use the same stuff so our future baby can be comfortable. He also has a number of back and knee problems so this video was incredibly helpful.

This is so wonderful. Inclusive parenting is vital, and we as an audience are honored and thankful for your information.

Being a baby carrier fitter/expert sounds like my dream job. And I love how Lysanne was very aware of mobility needs and what works and doesn’t work depending on a person’s unique body. When Jess was talking about her body at the beginning and Lysanne was just like “yep!” I was like, they must have heard these sort of descriptions before and it seemed like they really knew what they were doing. I want to be like Lysanne. What a lovely person!

I don’t plan on having kids for a long time, but all of this feels so informational/helpful/eye-opening & I feel like it will stick with me for a while ✨

I wish this information had been out there when my littles were babies. I remember trying to figure out tying a baby wrap before RU-vid. There was no discussion of doing so with semi-functioning hands and hip problems. There’s been so much more content for disabled grownups with children the last few years and I am here for it! 😃

Thank you for making this. I have a huge scar on my lower back that interferes with the way my muscles knit together and I get a lot of back pain. People have LOVED telling me how I won't be able to hold my little boy in a baby sling because of my scar, but this gives me SO MUCH HOPE just to try.

Babies with EDS always feel much heavier as well. Mainly because they don't have the muscle tone of other babies, and feel like "dead weight". My wife and daughters all have EDS, so that magnified the problem.

My mum has always sworn by the ring sling. She's had 3 of us and collectively used them for I don't even know how long. I've worn them and they do just work. You can also just stick them in the washing machine when baby throws up or has a nappy leak on it. I feel being machine washable is a vital feature for any baby product.

I have never expected to enjoy baby carrier fitting videos so much, but here we are! Jessica is serving us some great looks while wearing baby carriers and slings, I audibly went "awww" when she gave Rupert a little kiss as he turned his face to her.

I don’t know why I watched this (other than being a fan) because I’m not having kids any time soon, but finding out how to use a sling fascinated me because I was always so confused over how they work.

I remember my parents refusing to use baby carriers because it would end up with needing more than one adult to put one on and alot of back pain. This gives me hope that one day when I have a little one, I can explore the option of using one.

I have no baby, I have no desire for a baby, but I genuinely enjoyed listening to Lysanne talk about these baby carriers. It's always enjoyable to listen to an expert who loves the work she does!

I'm amazed at how the designs have improved and changed since I was a new Mum. I remember my son was especially fussy and I needed to get on with the house work. I found a stretchy sheet, and remembered how my African neighbour wore her baby, and tied him onto my back. He stopped grizzling, and started giggling, then I felt him go to sleep. I checked his airways every couple of seconds, because I was a worried Mum, and because he had gone so quiet. But he was fine, he just missed being carried. I wish there had been someone like Lysanne and her club when mine were tiny!

The obvious delight on your face when Rupert is even near you is delightful.

My scoliosis has me in the same position lol. It’s kind of nice to see someone talking about how it impacts life and why adjustments are needed instead of just acting like it’s as inconsequential to your life as having a tattoo or a third nipple.

Wow this sling expert is an absolute expert! We used slings for 8 years with our two and didn't expect to learn new information in this video but wow, she was amazing! We went from stretchy wraps to woven wraps for heavier babies, absolutely brilliant for us.

I am an avid babywearer and I have seen A LOT of babywearing videos but this is by far the best I have ever seen! I love how comprehensive and inclusive the information is, the anatomy information is also really well explained! I hope that you enjoy wearing your beautiful son, it's a lovely bonding experience x

My dad who is completely blind used to carry me in a baby carrier. It allowed him to use his guide dog or white cane; strollers wouldn’t work with the cane or dog. My mom is partially sighted and preferred using the stroller, because she was petite, and I was a very tall baby. But both agree carriers are convenient when you have to use public transportation. Strollers, especially big ones, can be a bit of a hassle to get on and off buses.

Your videos are my cats favorite. He tracks your hands across the screen and reacts to your head moving too! His two favorite things to watch with me are you and Critical Role!

I'm so jealous of the fact that new parents now have so much great information and advice available so easily. My son is nearly 18-years-old now. Back when he was a baby it was hard to find anything like this video (and the carriers that were accessible to me weren't nearly as good).

My mum never liked the slings/carriers when she had me and my sister because she felt like we’d drop. However that first sling you tried on looked the most secure because it fully enclosed the baby. Also Rupert’s little cap was adorable!

OMG this infant physiology lesson was AMAZING! And helpful for anyone, including pharmacists like myself who get regular face to face contact with new mums and can be a reassuring force putting minds at ease- especially when large branches of Boots and Superdrug and supermarkets sell baby carriers!

I wish this video had existed when I had my first! I remember sitting there with my tiny preemie in tears because I just could not figure out the stretchy wrap and I somehow had to get myself to the doctor down the road for bloodwork -- or later when I'd been using the narrow base carrier and freaked out because someone told me it could be damaging his hips -- or later still when I felt like I HAD to buy a foam rug because of his little knees. (He's seven now and doing great.) This video is going to help so many new parents

My favorite carriers are Happy Baby buckle carrier (so soft, made out of linen), and a woven wrap that you tie in a similar fashion to the stretchy wrap. Woven wraps take a bit more learning but perfectly molds to wearer and baby every time. And for quick ups I use a ring sling. It doesn't feel good for a long time on my body, but just while I'm heating up food or something it's very nice.

I’m now an oldie. My children are 41 and 37 and slingy types of carriers, plus a more rigid framed on for your back when baby was a bit bigger were all appearing when my babies came along. Like you Jessica I have a double scoliosis plus a whole slew of other back problems but these new items were touted to be fantastic. They weren’t. Front or back, they killed me. The time it takes to put a wrap on, solo at that, was way WAY too long form my babies who wriggled like electric eels and screamed like devils. Taking them off, same problem. They were never as accommodating as dear little Dave…or Rupert! I also found that, like when I was 7-9 months pregnant I couldn’t stand at the sink, to pour a glass or water let alone reach the taps. It was back to sideways on. Also babies as you know are so warm and squishy and mostly the same temperature as ourselves so when one pees heavily you don’t feel it…it’s all warm and delightful on your tummy area…until you take baby off, usually by this time in a group of family and friends at some lovely get together - only to find your beautiful dress is sodden from nipple to knicker level! Needless to say both husband and I gave up… and used the pushchair outside …

It hurt my 'floppy' EDS hands just watching you work that tri lock clasp. Ouch!

I honestly am entranced by her teaching you Jessica. I learned so much from her and truly, truly wish I had seen this before I tried to carry my grands. I have CF/ME, lupus, scoliosis, 5 damaged ribs, Raynaud’s in my hands and feet and a damaged thoracic spine plus a few more things! I imagined she freaked out when she saw Rachel Markle carrying her “child” in Canada 🇨🇦😱😱

My favorite was the boba wrap, everything else hurt my shoulders & back so much

I worked in a baby store and my favourite all around was the Baby Bjorn Carrier One. It attaches to you body first, has a wide bottom, and then had really easy but secure clips to help get baby in and out. It was the easiest to teach people to use and I think to use safely. The only issue is it is definitely nit as comfortable as other carriers for some people.

The consultant's expertise was so cool to hear !!! This video made me excited to carry other babies around 😅😅

She didn't have the Baby K'tan? That is my favourite. Pros, it is easier to put on than most other soft wrap carriers without having to wonder if you put in on tight enough and it works better for wheelchair users because it doesn't have long tails tangling into the chair. Cons are that they come sized so partners might need different sizes.

I'm very short (less than 5 feet tall), and sometimes when I've been helping provide childcare for families with older infants, wearing the baby has been amazing for me because it allows me to distribute the baby's weight throughout my entire upper body so I don't over-stress any of my muscles! I've just used whatever brand the family already has, so this was a cool comparison :)

My last baby is 10 now and I still don't know how I would have survived having 2 little ones just 23 months apart without a stretchy wrap. It was a sanity saver for sure!

I wore this kind of sling for a while but my tiny 5 month old was a jelly mass. Rupert is so firm and strong it's a delight to see him stand on your shoulder.

I LOVED baby wearing. My daughter lived in a wrap or a sling for two years. When she was a baby it was awesome how much work I could get done by putting her in a sling and vacuuming.

This was so cool. I learned a lot and actually looked up consultants in my area. Can’t wait to book a session after baby comes.

I have a carrier similar to ergobaby, that just fits my body slightly better. It is possible to cross the straps on the back in many such carriers too, which make them more comfortable. A child development expert I know don't reccomend wearing your baby outwards at all, or at least limited. Babies uses the parents face to help process their surroundings. This is especially important in noisy or heavily visual environments, like outside or a in a mall. Strollers should also always be turned towards the handle, she insists. For parents like Jessica, who is deaf, I would think this is extra important, since baby is learning that Mama communicates mostly visually.

STRAPS ARE AMAZING! My mother used to have some when my siblings were growing up, so although I wasn't old and patient enough to learn the patterns for it, I was delighted with how it allowed EVEN me, barely 10 or 11, to carry around my baby brother! She also had a sling with crossed straps in the back and a waistband only padded at the hips that she made herself, and that one was pretty versatile and very comfortable too!

What an amazing consultant! It's great to see you get all that advice with all the clever reasoning around it, the stuff about baby's bones development was great to hear and refresh for me too :) I started babywearing when beb was 6 months old and I am pretty sorry I was not able to do it sooner (I hope for early babywearing with our expected second baby). Started with a full buckle carrier, but soon fell into the rabbit hole of woven wraps. They are beautiful and amazing. The possibilities of carries are endless and it truly fits every kind of body type and shape. In the UK you have the scotish Oscha brand really accessible, they make the most beautiful designs. After Brexit they are awfully pricey for the rest of Europe though. We're still using wraps/slings, ring slings and carriers (czech made Jožánek and then Aloe Two made in Russia for bigger kids) interchangeably with my husband, for every purpose a different thing is convenient. Babywearing saves parents and kids lives and nerves, really, I can't recommend it enough (while the pram is useful too :) ).

We loved our Baby Bjorn. LOVED it. It was easily our favorite carrier and our very large babies were carried in it to 9 months with no difficulty.
