About This Video:
Professional auto detailing is such a case by case, problem solving job, that having videos like this to reference may be a huge help. Here I am detailing a maintenance client’s vehicle. I see this Pathfinder about once a month, and it takes me somewhere around an hour to detail the interior, which comes out to be well over $100 an hour. In gearing your business toward targeting the right kind of clientele, you can not only exponentially grow the business, but also your income. My hope for this video is that it helps you see the simple process that I use in order to quickly, and efficiently get through my maintenance clients, as well as the products and tools necessary to do so. Here is as real as it gets!

I should've done this for a living, no place to do it. I love cleaning cars, and the idea of being alone, on my own-fantastic.
@MarkSegree
@MarkSegree 3 года назад
Facts. Easy way to start is to go around to small dealerships and ask if they need some cars done. They are willing to pay the price what the local car wash charges but usually ask for discount on volume like extra services. Basically dont charge for a engine wash and if you got a wax job, take out the obvious scuffs and scratches without padding the bill. If you want the bigger dealerships you will need to get a interact machine. It's not the highest paying but its dependable work and loads of practice as you can generally get away with messing something up on a dealer's car as they themselves probably never even seen the car up close

Three times I've watched this now when lay in bed and three times I've never made it to the end. So relaxing. Trying to start up my own detailing/valeting business as its something I really like doing. I detail my friends two land rovers and his Honda civic once a month (for free obviously) with a lot of makeshift gear (small paint brushes and make up brushes instead of detailing brushes) and I really enjoy doing it. Yourself, detailing is JC and a channel called car cleaning guru as well as a handful of others have inspired me to attempt starting up. Watching your videos on detailing cheaply etc are a massive help Luke. Thank you

Good morning brother, love the video. Quick couple questions for ya, I know you use both Meg's APC and Super Clean. Which do you use more and whats the determining factor between which to use? Dirtier=Super Clean? Or Dirtier=Meg's APC? Also do you ever use or recommend anything for scent for interior for example spray a nice smelling laundry detergent and steam clean with it along with either APC? Last question, when doing full interior and exterior which do you prefer to clean first ext or int? Thanks again for all your knowlege and videos! God Bless!

Hi Luke. I gues I watched the most of your interior vidz. I found it very practical. Very straight forward compared with a lot of other "youtube car detailers". Thnx for that. I wondered if there is a method to check if the upholestry,/fabric/leather could stand up against a steamer? How do you check that to prevend damaging the seats? Because you talked in your vidz about lexus seats and other high-end cars. But is there a way to check it beforehand on all different car seats? And also have you ever used a steamer that can also vacuum at the same time? And what are your thougts about them? I already subscribed and I'm looking forward to see your vidz of the exterior including thewaxing/sealing/ polishing part. Greetz from Holland!

Fascinating to watch your process. Seems Most of the grunge on autos is around the contact areas. Steering wheels, buttons etc. Does the steam not affect electronics in anyway. I wondered about that? I like to hit everything with compressed air and brush simultaneously, keeping moisture to a minimum around buttons. By watching this, it leads me to believe that these buttons are more robust and resist more moisture than previously thought?

I don't have a ton of experience but I do have a steamer and with what I've done so far I question why not just steam instead of using the APC and detail brush for most things? It liquefies the grease, blasts the dirt out from the crevices, nooks, etc. You just have to use enough common sense not to hold it right up against the electronics or hold it there for to long. It basically does what the APC and brush are doing anyways no? You may not get it to 100% but we're really splitting hairs here.. Seems like a solid 95% plus and it skips a step.. am I wrong? When I go to dress the console at the end then I whip out my detail brush to do it and it'll get that last 5%.. seems like a great method.

@@vaughnharrison1921 Just used warm water with the magic eraser and the results are amazing. Of course the morning after I did the inside and outside, a bird dumped half it's body weight's worth of poo on it.

How do you deal with trash/random items in a customer's car? Do you ask them to remove prior to the detail or bag them up and throw away?

jman70SS just bag it and throw it away unless it looks important cause they are paying you to clean their car

I put everything in a plastic bag for the customer. Of course, obvious trash gets tossed but i put old receipts, loss change, paper clips, batteries, make up brushes, dinner mints, unused napkins or straws, pens, socks, books, manuals, spare keys, business cards are just a few things that I bag up and put in the passenger floor board when I am done. That forces them to go through the bag and let them decide if it’s trash or needs to be put back in car.

Love the idea of steam it cleans it disinfects and a great job you have done.. One major problem steam gets everywhere into tiny groves where electrical contacts are. What you are doing is causing corrosion. You might say I'm using a quick spray here and there. I'm an electronic.. Electrical mechanical engineer and have seen this process cause really serious electrical faults down the line. Just be aware.. Not all cars are built the same..

I detailed cars for a couple years, I’ll do it on the side now for some extra cash and you bet your bottom dollar I pop a couple adderall before I even begin detailing.

Doesn't that steam vapor get into the electronics in the interior and mess them up?

Great job my brother from the same Father ☝☝☝. On a note: If I saw all that steam coming from a car I'd think those people were probably pretty filthy 😂. It does seem to speed up the process. I guess for now I'll stick to an APC and some rags. 1 Cor 10:31
