It's probably blueberries, although I have a great cranberry sauce for holidays. Substitute allulose for sugar in the recipe on the bag of cranberries (I actually use half the amount they say, but you can experiment). That doesn't do anything to my son's BG. He can eat my Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and dose for 10 carbs. He was dx at 11, does DIY Loop, now 16yo. Thanks for the great videos!

How do you get diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 28? Usually type 1 starts from a child or young teen and type 2 usually is diagnosed in older adults. Also if you've never been over weight and eat healthy your whole life it doesn't make sense. Unless you have alot of neurotoxin, weak adrenals/endocrine system from stress and environmental toxins, but idk.
@Someone-vn9ce
@Someone-vn9ce 5 месяцев назад
@@Dark_Summers people with type 1 diabetes are almost always thin to underweight (Type 2 are usually overweight because of insulin resistance.). In fact, before the discovery of insulin to treat type 1 diabetics, most babies and small children with it died very rapidly over failure to thrive; they literally starved to death. Type 1 can happen at any time if the pancreas becomes compromised for any reason or the immune system does. It is less common for an adult to get diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but it does happen. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an infant, my brother wasn't diagnosed until his 20's. Perhaps he had a stronger immune system and his pancreas still had working beta cells for a time. Anyway, there is clearly some hereditary component in our case. My Dad and Grandfather were also diabetics.

Hello. My coment maybe doesn't have to do so much with the content of the video but me as a diabetic since 1.5 years old i think my experience is important. And yes i do see a lot of your videos not all but a lot and it did encourage me to change/balance especially my diet. So what i would like to say is how our job can affect diabetic life. I am a gardener and as a gardener i do a lot of physical exercise wich substitutes the insulin (i mean i slow down the spikes naturally). I didn't choose this profession just because i love gardening but also because gardening would give "on obligation " the exercise i need to keep fit. I do think the rotine of different jobs affect directly the diabetic and therefore is also a interesting point to talk about.

Hi, I love your videos and was anticipating for some new contents. As a diabetic I believe that only another diabetic can understand the challenges this condition brings, doctors are trained and may have data etc to give advice to their patients but unless they themselves suffer from it they don’t see the ins and outs compared to someone who lives with in 24/7. On another related topic, I’m currently pregnant and I found that prior to my pregnancy things were fine and relaxed. Doctors were fine with low carb diets etc but as soon as I got pregnant it became stricter and the advices was to eat more carbs completely different to before. I did my own research and kept my carb reasonably low, and had to increase my insulin. Some of the advices contradicted what really worked before and still works now. Online and via healthcare you get very worrying language like the baby brain will not grow properly if you don’t eat enough carbs, when facts are vegetables and meat have greater benefits for growing babies in the womb than carb. Has anyone else experienced this??

Its an idea that upto now is not practicle for most people to do. Test strips for me are 1$ per test... if u want to plot the curves you need to be on a monitor to see the curve... 2nd, not everyone has the same reaction... example, common bread for me is like eating raw sugar... i have to go sugar free on breads, then wheat free for better control. Read an article where freezing makes bread less reactive, and toasting even more so. I suspect diabetes causes some people to become wheat sensitive or hypersensitive.. freezing and toasting bread helps alot... i cannot live a bread free life.
@tempesttraveltime
@tempesttraveltime 4 месяца назад
@@ronallens6204 I agree that it's not Easy. But we have a lot of people regularly measuring their blood sugar anyway. Next to those that need to do for diabetes, there are many that do it for fitness monitoring. There are differences in the way we react, I e.g. do react slowly on noodles. But with secondary Metadata it might be possible to identify groups of similar reactions. The main issues would be building it to a good privacy standard and having the possibility of analyzing the anonymized data through experts. Building such a system would surely be taxing, but helpful, too. Currently I struggle to see if my reaction is normal or not and where to look for alternatives. While artificial sweeteners usually do not heighten glucose levels on themselves, there is still the open question if it increases insulin resistant due to biome changes. Such questions might be solvable if enough people would take part in such an endeavor. I see an advantage in building such a system. But this is nothing that can be done by one person. There are to much legal, technical and scientific issues to handle.

Cook potatoes then freeze once cooled. It's best😅 also instead of using a whole onion, try using one sliced piece of onion chopped up for taste, similarly with peppers etc. I prepare onions and freeze 😂 ready to use. Similarly with leeks, celery, carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, broccoli etc, I cut cabbage into portions removing middle indigestible core. I prepare and blanche greens including runner beans, broad beans, garlic I chop into frozen bag of onions, peas, small portion. If all things are reduced in sizes no reason to worry, and still enjoy nutritious meal. I eat variety, but enjoy my food. I eat a lot of meat, and lots of variety of veg along with meat. I no longer feel hungry

This is indeed good info. but I'd like to hear how to eat to meet caloric/energy requirements in the healthiest way possible. I don't think we can eat enough green bowl veg to meet those needs without exploding. I did see a recent study on oatmeal and how it was a good option for blood glucose control. I have noticed it does help tame my previously wildly out of control BG, but man cannot live on Oatmeal alone!

Have you looked at green bell pepper specifically? I am not diabetic, but I am on a ketogenic diet and green bell pepper is something I can eat without even thinking about it.

Hi. I am a type 1 too, I was just wondering if you know from experience which are safest basal insulins to be on 1: a low carbt/ high fat diet. And also 2: A Vegan diet. I want to experiment a bit with these diets but first I am on low carb diet and I am on Treaiba 200 ml. The thing With tresiba and low carb is that I’m not sure how much I need to lower it from 24 units per day as I seem to be getting midnight lows that turn into morning highs. Would levimer be a more adaptable option. Thanks in advance if I get a reply. Ps these videos are great and I appreciate the work you put in. 👌🏻😎 Thankyiu
