Using the tube from a spray bottle is a fantastic idea! I had the syringe, just couldn't find the right-size tube. I even went to Home Depot and their smallest tube was still too thick. Thank you for your comment.

the problem is that the water dispenser line freezes. GE side by side model (GSH25JSTCSS) Appliance parts pros said try the heater first, It did not work wire #2 & #6 did not have continous 12 volts DC.Then I could replace the freezer door! price around $700.00. & $60 something dollars for the heater. the heater. On Amazon I picked up the heater & a 12 volt 5 amp power supply all for around $ 20.00 see attached photos. I attached the power supply to th upper left side of the refrigerator w/ 2 sided magic tape so I can see the little blue led photo #5 added a little silver tape to protect the the 2 small white wires. It's been a couple of months now and NO more freeze ups. It used to freeze up weekly.

It would be something different, or the blockage may be really big. You're not going to hurt anything by injecting more.

Its a couple of bucks compared to the $150 and up service call to squirt warm water up a tube.... The design on some of these models is terrible, there isn't enough insulation inside the door to prevent the line from freezing.

@@DoItYourselfDad 9-2-21 Have a whirlpool Frig with only ice maker. I’m going to try this trick on the ice maker water delivery tube behind the ice maker in the freezer. Hope it lets he ice maker start dispensing ice cubes again. I’ll let you know if it helps.

it could also be a valve or supply line issue.... but if the entire line is frozen it will take a lot of water to get it free.

Throw a thermometer in your freezer and see if it’s getting colder than it’s supposed to be. That’s what was going on with my refrigerator.

0 F , but with some of these there are issues even at that temp. You can try bumping it up a few degrees if needed.

Also, raise the factory freezer temperature from 5 to 4 until we find the right freezer temperature to keep lines from refreezing and the night light can be shut off when not needed to defrost. Other RU-vidrs made this suggestion. :-))

A lot of people accidentally melt things with the hair dryer.

I don’t have a video on it, but we’ve had that problem on a fridge at work. It turned out that the filter had frozen solid. We removed the filter to let it thaw and reinstalled it and it worked.

It’s a common problem with the particular model in the video, a definite design flaw.

It could be that the fridge is just barely getting cold enough at night to freeze the wine, and worms have just enough to fight during the day. If the temperature of the freezer could be raised a little bit that might help.

I did this with tubing like in the video, it only went up a little ways and ran into an obstruction (frozen water) so then I squirted hot water up the line and it moved in a little more until I ran into more frozen water. I repeeted this and the line kept going further in a few tries and then it cleared out completely. Furthermore, I wonder if the reason you get water in the evening is that your kitchen warms up during the day, or possibly the sun shines on the outside of the fridge door and thaws it.

It may, check your freezer temp and make sure it’s not too low.

Depending on the fridge you may have to do it again every now and then. It's a design flaw with some refrigerators.

Try turning your freezer setting down also.

Also use the water dispenser everyday even if you don’t want to drink water

As a handyman I recommend you leave the night light on, turn your freezer up, ie warmer, and use the dispenser on a regular basis to help avoid having to do this, and yes this trick in this video is the way to go, if it's frozen in the door and not in the coil inside the fridge or in the internal filter, you can check by pulling the grate off the bottom of the fridge, disconnecting the water line going into the door, close the door and try the dispenser, if the water comes out of the line than it's frozen inside the door for sure ;)

Solid idea!

I made my own enema kit, and it worked perfectly in a couple of minutes. What I liked about this method is that I could only push my tubing in a few inches, then hit the frozen water. After the first syringe squirt it moved up a little but after each squirt I could FEEL the frozen water thaw and moved it further in. It only took about 4 syringes full of water until I could push the tubing on up, and KNOW that the obstruction was clear. Done deal, pick up the towels wipe down the door, and now I have water flowing perfectly. Someone in my family had turned the freezer temp to max cold. So I turned it back down, and we're all good again. If I continue having problems I'll try your idea to thaw the whole door and not just the tubing.

It’s a design problem for sure. I don’t believe any of these have a defroster on the water line.

Do you have anything you can try to get up inside the the tube to figure out how far back the blockage is?

The water line routes through the door of the freezer. I’ve seen people that have disassembled the freezer door and added some insulation between the line and the freezer which would probably help.

Is it not feeding water into the ice maker? Sounds like the valve may be shot.

The line is entering the fridge from the back, but it still routed through the fridge to the door, correct? Do you know where the blockage is?

@@DoItYourselfDad so the last time the maintenance man fixed it, he showed me a long thin piece of ice that was stopping the water flow into the mold itself. I’m an idiot when it comes to this stuff but I’d like the ice maker to work. It’s an old fridge, apartment type fridge. The top freezer and lower fridge open from the same side. I hope that answered your question. ✌🏼

@@DoItYourselfDad this model doesn’t dispense the water or ice from the door.

If it’s the feed coming out of the icemaker, it’s going to be a different line. It sounds like you may need to thaw the line on your icemaker for a little bit to get it to work.

@@DoItYourselfDad I think I might do that, like take everything out, turn it off probably, use a hairdryer on it, be careful even though I wouldn’t come in contact with any water. So in the line is gonna be some nasty old water, would that be correct to assume? Uhhh Nasty water, reminds me of 2020 and a bad property manger omg anyway, I might try to thaw it out. The last time the maintenance guy fixed, literally a few minutes after he left it started freezing up again. I had like one mold of ice cubes and that was it.

The first couple of times I had to do this I did just that. Works great!

Did you get it resolved? You may have to use the water dispenser everyday to prevent water droplets freezing up.

If it’s doing that, it’s getting blocked by ice. Put a towel down and keep applying the warm water until all the ice melts

What's the temp in your freezer?

@@DoItYourselfDad I was finally able to thaw it. Temp was set to 0, but an analog thermometer actually read -5. Not sure how accurate that is though. I raised the temp to 5 degrees. Analog thermometer didn’t change much.

This probably wont work, if the line is exposed inside the fridge try wrapping your hand around the frozen section or a heating pad to melt the blockage.

Yes on mines the line that fills the tray is frozen 6 months old Whirlpool French doors

Your freezer may be set too cold, or you may be missing some insulation inside the door.

Did you ever find a resolution? I did the same. I damaged the water dispenser tip and the ice door. Yikes!

@@christophernarcisco6550 the ice door can be replace, for the tip I use a nose plier to open the tip as much as I could then I just put a larger diameter water hose over the old tip, is funky but it worked and it has work for over two years.
