FYI for you other SS, 1LE and ZL1 reviews the steering is adjustable either in the drive modes or hard selected in the options menu. So you can drive around in track mode with the lightest steering. Personally I own a 2SS 1LE and I have everything set to for daily driving: - Steering - Tour Mode - Suspension - Tour Mode - Exhaust - Track Mode - Drive Mode - Sport Mode
A really nice car with a lot of outstanding performance features. While not being a guy for cars painted red, this red colour is getting a thumb up from me. In full spec to my satisfaction, it's a good $12.000 cheaper than a Ford Mustang Mach1 - probably being way more of a sports car with better specifics and specs for itself, just not that obvious to see at first. I really like the Mustang (Mach1, especially GT350/R) for its design and sound, but the Camaro (especially as 2SS 1LE) is the way better bang for the buck for sure. And...the more I look at this model, the more I like it. Its design might not hit you at first glance, but it comes subtle, deep and gives the car a really firm, muscleful and athletic appearance. I'd take a guess and call it way more rare over here in Germany 🇩🇪, especially as 1LE. In the 2021 design, I think it's really beautiful and I like it even more than a ZL1. Only thing(s) I'd change would be adding black side skirts and getting rid of the black hood wrap. 6,2L-NA-V8 with a 6-speed manual Tremec...a true modern classic rarity for driving pleasure. Compared to German cars of its type, you could buy two of them and still save money (with most of them just coming with a pretty small 6 cylinder engine). And if you wanted in time, you could still upgrade this beast with a supercharger; then having a destroyer in hands nobody would ever consider it to be.
I don’t like red cars either but with the 1le I like it because of the blacked out tail lights, black rims, spoiler and hood wrap etc. Black and red is sexy asf
@@new_york_n_june-lll1543 nah not yet, it keeps getting pushed back, it was supposed to arrive last week, but they told me it's getting the accessories and the performance package put on it. They said the ETA is now the 27th of this month. 😔
Too bad about your opinion on the "highly revered" Michelin tires. Thousands of other 1LE owners are very happy and content with the "highly revered" GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR 3 AND 3R tires. I own a 1LE and a GT 350. Those Goodyears on the Camaro and the Michelin tires on the Mustang , are in my opinion , equal in that summer tire configuration and construction and performance. I could fit either tire brand on either or both my cars and would'nt look back or have any doubts. A big thumbs up to Goodyear for their summer tires. They are wonderful !!
You are correct about being covered by the factory warranty if you track the Camaro SS and above. It has to be completely stock, brake fluid replaced with DOT4 fluid, and the brake cooling vents attached. And yes, the Camaro SS is an awesome car to daily. I have the 2021 2SS.
I guess this video is over a year old!! However the color sold me!! I'd buy that car today if it were available. By your smile during the drive I'd say you to were sold. Thanks for sharing this one
Beautiful car only thing I would change is the transmission. I own the 6-speed manual. It is soooo much more fun to drive. Its also lighter, and the manual doesn’t sap horsepower. Yes the slush box is a millisecond quicker. But 99% of people aren’t gonna track the car they’re going to drive it for enjoyment and that’s the secret: the six speed manual. V8 muscle cars with six speed manual‘s are not going to be around a lot longer buy one now cuz those are the ones that will be the most fun and will also go up in value.
Exactly I couldn't imagine my Camaro SS without the 6 speed Manual transmission. It makes the driving experience ten times better Then if I had an automatic transmission just my humble opinion
There is a pretty detailed owner’s supplement on what to do if I you wish to track your car. The prep is extensive. If you do all that. Of course it’s warrantied. So yes you are correct.
"Prep is extensive" what the heck are you talking about? I track my 1LE and prep is normal for any car you'd take on track. Make sure oil, trans and diff fluids are good and DOT4. Change as per GM recommendations and all is covered. Consumables are another matter but this is true for most cars that are as capable/fast as SS 1LE.
I have one as well I did switch to the Michelin sport cup 2 tires and it has made such a difference. Shaved a lot of time off at the track. I just try not to think about how much the cost. Best car I’ve ever owned. Had a Zl1 before
@@BigClaunch it’s not mean it’s realistic. I had an order waiting to go through for one and I cancelled it because it’s definitely not coming anytime soon. It’s the reality of the situation.
I got the exact car as you in satin steel metallic right before they stopped production. It’s an amazing car and worth the wait. I’m up in Canada and the sticker price was 56k and I got it for 48k (I think that’s around 38k usd) I’ve read that the rear differential fluid should be changed at first oil change due to break in, just a heads up
@@amanbarakat6669 You're 100% right. I ended up buying one off a lot (2SS 1LE) with the 6-speed and oh my god it's amazing. Not porsche level but leagues ahead of my 2018 Mustang.
I think it is the best Bang for your buck, that's how me being a Mustang guy ended up being in one of these myself, Ford lost me charging 60-100,000 for their top tier Mustangs now! I have a 2017 though, was only about $47, 000 brand new! At the time that's when Ford came out with the GT350's which were like 100, 000 after Cali mark up, so a no brainer for me.
Austin, have you seen an LE having a high zl1 wing without removing the blade spoiler? will it affect the performance of the spoiler? Will it look stupid?
In fairness I’m not a Goodyear guy either but those tires were designed specifically for the Camaro and they’ve been amazing on track and in wet weather
@@IAmTheKiaKing Seriously "get a bit better"? Painfully obvious you haven't driven this tire on track. The only way to make the tire any better is to make them R comp which they did for the ZLE. Stop already with the tire BS.
Oh yeah those Goodyear tires are wonderful when it’s warm outside they grip like nothing else but they also throw rocks up on the side of the car. Forget about driving on those good years if it’s below 50°. That’s why I upgraded to continental extreme contact 06+. Facts.
@@FL50ssp Oh yeah those Goodyear tires are wonderful when it’s warm outside they grip like nothing else but they also throw rocks up on the side of the car. Forget about driving on those good years if it’s below 50°. That’s why I upgraded to continental extreme contact 06+. Facts.
@@Jwdude123 They do pick up a lot and it is possible to limit or prevent damage if you are so inclined. As for under 50 deg, I've run my best times in temps below 50. It just takes several laps to get the tires up to temp.
This is the video that made me purchase a 2SS 1LE 2022 Wild Cherry Tint coat, for those wondering if it was worth it. It was, I love the car, it looks and sounds amazing.
Damn, you didn't take it on some curvy roads, that is what the SS 1LE is all about. Best bang for the buck is getting a 1SS 1LE. Get the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) if you plan on tracking it.
Yep pretty pricey, mine is a 22 2ss with the 1LE package in Wild Cherry tintcoat, automatic....and what I understand, wild cherry tintcoat is the last year of the 2022, that is none existing anymore, got replaced by radiant red and 2023, I'm glad about that color that was the color I always wanted..
You ordered the manual six speed because you were wise. I have the exact same color Wild Cherry tint coat with the six speed manual and it is glorious.
Awesome car the only thing missing is a manual transmission I couldn't imagine my Camaro SS with An automatic I would get bored of the car very fast I love manual transmission cars and the experience that i Get every single time I drive the vehicle.
Also, those tires are better than Michelin sport 4s. Way more track grip and heat dissipation. They really are only to get you to the track. They are closer related to a cup 2 than a 4s. Also, the tire life is horrible, i got 6k out of mine. For the performance of these tires they are extremely cheap. I think 280 for the rears at 305.
I mostly drive mine on the canyons. More of a weekend car for me and I’m reaching 13K mileage on original tires. Front ones are more gone than rear but not to where I consider them needing replacing. The tire thread on the side is virtually non existent bc of the amount of cornering I do, but the center thread still has thread. Prob will replace early next year.
@@EX-bz5bg when you go to build and select the engine they have a 1ss or 2ss automatic transmission then select the 1le package under packages and that's it. If you want a sunroof it's 2ss.
@@hypblue1le I don’t think you can anymore at least when I tried it, it removed the paddle shifter automatic once you add the 1LE. It doesn’t really matter anyways I’m just contemplating between manual and automatic, since my wife doesn’t know how to drive a manual and once I get it. That will be our only car.
@@hypblue1le that’s the plan last time we tried a rental she was complaining about the visibility and I’m afraid driving manual would be just to scary for her 😒. But thank you for your help anyway.
I really love and want this car but I HATE how the 1le forces you to get alcantara seats and steering wheel. I don’t like alcantara I want leather. And I want the red leather seats. I wish they gave you the option to get leather instead.
Ive been a dodge owner ,and since 2021 Dodge has been pissing me off more and more ,As of 4 days ago i discovered the 1LE While looking at other options ,and ive made up my mind that A SS 1LE will be what im ordering For me it will be shadow grey with the m6 transmission, I still havent made up my mind tho if i will get the 1SS Or 2SS ,I see advantages and disadvantages in both ,Ive. Built both on the website the 1LE 1SS im at just under $48 and the 2SS i was just shy of $54 the way i built
It appears the SS 1LE track pack is different than the ZL! 1LE. I suspect the SS 1LE, without the DSSV dampers, is more street-able than the ZL1 1LE track pack. The problem seems to be the SS 1LE option is for black interior only. Way to screw up the order GM!!
The 1ss 1LE is what I got. I don’t need the sunroof or fancy lights ect. and I got an excellent deal. They cost around the same or even slightly less than your typical half ton pickup. I don’t see the point in paying 25k(Canadian) more for the ZL1 when you can put your own supercharger on it, make more power and cost much less. Other than loosing your warranty
@@adamhancock8228 you could do that but your lt1 gonna get anywhere near the reliability of a zl1. The LT1 internals could barely handle any boost. Lt4 comes with a forged bottom end, 10 speed, forged internals, low compression, better brakes, different wing, front end, wheels. For the zl1 your paying for the reliability of it. You also are gonna need to a add a cam and upgrade fuel lines on the lt1s.
The Ford Mustang drivers just stop in their tracks and go nuts when a Camaro SS 1LE shows up. Their limited brains are thinking "I could of had a V-8".
Something I don't understand, the car you were showing off in the beginning was a manual, the one you were test driving was an auto. When you shift, your right hand never leaves the steering wheel. Why change cars?
@@IAmTheKiaKing Didn't realize the automatic and manual shift knobs were so close in appearance. I see that now. I skipped over a little bit in the middle because I wanted to watch the test drive. Should have just watched the whole thing. Thanks for posting this video. I actually just ordered this same color/trim in a 2022 but with manual. Color looks amazing.
@@IAmTheKiaKing OK so this is the third time you have named your RU-vid channel something else I think it’s time for you to put those nut hugging Jorts back on and show that dump truck off for views. Personally that’s not something that interests me but I am a RU-vid influencer and I know what sells use what you’ve got while you can.
Have you had your alignment checked? I have a 2019 SS 1LE and have driven in several heavy downpours (not by choice) and haven't experienced any issues in the rain. That said when I picked up my car I had the dealer check and then re-align the car since it was outside of Chevy's recommended settings. Went with the Chevy track alignment and had zero issues dry or wet.
Yu alrite for a Ford Man! And yeah the SS series do sound angry! Once yu hit third gear! It’s like destroy me while I defeat yur opponents! Love mine, but I am bout to upgrade my 22SS FOR A 2021 2 SS 1le 🤩
At startup, it opens the baffles and then after a few seconds, it will default to whichever mode you selected. So if you are heading out early AM it is loud at first and might wake your family and or neighboors.
I have ine of these beauties. 2021 ss 1 le track the previous owner did some body mods side skirts and on the spoiler. I have to say it really needs nothing. Love the car way it looks sounds.... EVERYTHING.... FUN TO DRIVE!! HAS 2000 MILES ON IT. and its a 6 speed manual. Im sorry young men i hate a paddle shifter. Garbage. Im.... 48 just my 2 cents you wanna sports car go manual. Either way enjoy!!!.
@@IAmTheKiaKing whenever I go to the chevy website to build my 2ss I put the 1le option but then it says it takes off the remote start so I was a little confused
$55K is too much for a Camaro SS 1Le because you could purchase a slightly used 2018-2019 ZL1, 2019 Mustang GT 350, and New Mach 1. All three cars are better, faster, more powerful, and more prestigious.
I disagree with the Mach being better and you won’t ever actually pay 55k. I got my 1SS 1LE for $37,900. It’s all about how you play your cards and car climate.
@@nite82hawk bought it in December of 2019. It’s a 2019 SS 1LE 1SS. Sticker price was $45k , buying a car at the end of the month, last month of the year. Especially a sports car you get different rebates in slow selling months. Plus this was before all the 1LE hype...
2SS badging is red. 1SS is silver (sometimes black). Unless they changed it, that's how it showed the SS "level" 1 or 2. I believe RS they had red too.
I have a s550 but the camaro one is nicer, I’ve driven it and the v steering wheel is nicer, the Shit part of the s550 is the steering wheel. Its like a boat, like the 2014 camaro except ford never fixed it
