I’ve been a caps fan for 35 years I’ve see a lot and I mean a lot of really upsetting things and boy o boy does tonight feel great

I refused to go to sleep until I saw this video posted.

As a Caps fan I’m so happy I just want to cry

I was so happy to see Ovi lift a cup. Im not a caps fan obviously but his reaction after winning the cup brought tears to my eyes. He deserved it so much. Wish we could've done the same w Price.

So this year we will have a champion who isn't named Penguins, Blackhawks, or Kings.

I am a Penguin fan, the Capitals deserved this win. The penguins did not play well and were defeated by a Caps lineup without Backstrom, Wilson, and Burakovsky. I am rooting for the Caps the rest of the playoffs. Ovi deserves a cup, and it would be a great underdog story (not as much as the Knights, but still) go Caps.

I see a bunch of Lightning fans saying “Bolts in 4, Bolts in 5”. I don’t think they understand how unbelievably confident the Caps are and how much pressure is off their shoulders. They’re going to come out flying, but Tampa can match it. Lightning in 7.

Congrats to the Caps they were the better team this series and deserved to win. Even as a Pens fan I'll be rooting for Ovi to get a cup he definitely deserves it he shows up every year in the playoffs. I'm still proud of the Penguins It was a helluva ride watching back 2 back cups I soaked it all in and sure as hell didn't take it for granted.

As a Pens fan, I gotta give credit where credit is due. Well earned win by the Caps. Although Holtby is getting a lot of the credit (and deservedly so, as he played great), I think the Caps' defense was the biggest factor. They did a TREMENDOUS job of limiting the Pens' scoring chances. That's no small task. The Pens are a very fast team that lives on turnovers and creating odd-man rushes, but the Caps really kept those in check. Great game plan and execution by a great team. Best of luck the rest of the way!

Congratulations to the Caps. They did it, and they did it fair and square. This guarantees that every team in the Final Four have won a combined 1 Stanley Cup. I love that. The Capitals deserve this. After years of everything going against them they pulled together and exorcized their demons. I couldn't be happier for them. These Conference Finals are going to be phenomenal.

As a long time caps fan, who's brother is a pen's fan, both living north of the boarder. You cannot believe how I feel today. My heart was racing throughout the evening and I did not even watch the game. I felt I would jinx my team if I tuned into the game. I wore my lucky stadium series jersey since my team only lost once during the entire playoffs when I did wore it. When I rocked the red, we lost every time. This was my first hockey guy vid ever cause I was just so danm exctatic that the team that I had cheered for growing up against the team that had caused me more pain than any other team in sports in the penguins (beating my caps and also teams I really liked in the preds and sharks) and We finally beat those danm penguins and I needed to watch every single joyous reaction from everyone to share in my exuberance, favourite run by a sports team ever, they should make a movie about the knights and the caps facing off in the finals

I haven't gotten any sleep since the win. I am way too jacked up. If my neighbors don't know I am a Capitals fan, now they do. This is one of the coolest things I've seen in my lifetime. I think this smile will be stuck on me for days.

I've picked the caps to go the ECF 6 out of the last 7 years. I really was beating a dead horse and after each heartbreak I said never again yet I always picked them come playoff time for whatever reason and once again this year I picked them and it actually came true. As an Oilers fan who has a huge soft spot for the caps I couldn't be happier.

The Capitals have absolutely no pressure these playoffs because everybody thought the Capitals window of opportunity closed last year so people were writing the Caps off by either losing in first round or definitely second round against the Pens. Congrats to the Capitals and good luck against the Lightning in the eastern conference finals!

I was sitting in my dorm room watching it happen and I literally just said nothing. My mouth just dropped open, thinking "did that really just happen?" Just like you did. Caps fans, I know how this feels as a Blues fan. I know it because I experienced it when we beat the Blackhawks 2 years ago. I literally ran outside my house and ran around the neighborhood in my jersey screaming my head off. Embrace this year, because you never know when you'll get this opportunity again. I know that as a Blues fan - 2 years removed from that run that genuinely looked like our year, now we're completely outside the playoffs. It can go downhill really fast. Nothing lasts forever. Embrace it. Enjoy it. You've waited for this and you deserve it. Go get it.

Pens fan, sooooo happy for Ovi. I’m not even mad or disappointed. The last 2-3 years have been a blessing beyond what I would’ve ever predicted! Now time to see Ovi or Stamkos have a chance to raise Lord Stanley :)

I still can't believe we actually won. Took an elbow to the jaw while my buddies and I were jumping around celebrating. Didn't even realize it until an hour later because of the adrenaline. BRING ON TAMPA BABY! Sidenote: nothing but respect to Pittsburgh, what a team they've had for the last three years. Unbelievable run.

The interesting thing this time around was that the Caps got some lucky bounces and the Pens were the ones hitting posts. Previous two years it felt like the Caps were doing everything they could to win and the "hockey Gods" were denying them. The number of times last year that the Caps hit a post or missed a net or something unbelievable happened to deny them a goal - I lost count. So happy for them this year.
