I'm only 22 and this is the only album i have ever wanted to own that has come out while i have been alive. If i could go back in time id rather see The Cars then The Beatles or Elvis. Ric Ocasek is a God.
impossible to overstate the profound excitement and gratitude i personally feel for the reunion of such special talents -- and especially in combination... whatever the reasons, this is a gift to the world, so sincere thanks are in order from those inside and outside the music industry -- the cars are far more than just 'pop music' and someday this will be fully realized...
Hmm, David Robinson actually looks like himself this time around. When we last saw him in the last interview with Ben Orr, he looked more like Phil Hartman.
Listen, I acknowledge your point. Yes Ric is the driving, creative force. But my point is, I think most Cars/music fans are excited by their return and don't give a fuck about the rest.
@HEYITSTHATGUY09 I thought it was and then I went an got the official news on it. Good tune. I'm glad the real cars are back; regardless that Orr is gone.
Well, I know they used drum machines (you can even see some here) and processed drums quite a lot; I just thought the guy behind the drums here didn't look much like David. Hard to tell.
I am glad there are some people that can type good things about great ROCK AND ROLL without mentioning the likes of "newer" artists who SUCK. (Will not mention names because mentioning these names would only TAINT this page).
Jesus, Elliot Easton blew up to about 300 lbs and Greg Hawkes looks in worse shape than Stephen Hawking and I agree, dude playing drums had the mannerisms I remember of David Robinson, but sure as hell didn't look like him. Only cat in that video that doesn't like like he's changed is Ric. And of course, it's still not the same without Ben Orr.
This fawner thinks it sounds real good. Mr. GetC has a point, however he is ignorant about the value of a band's chemistry, history and the solid muscianship of the remaining players. The Cars' catalogue and legacy has held up very well. Let's just all enjoy without filtering this welcome return through a layer of cynical shit.
