Elliot's licks, Greg's magic on the keyboards and Ric's voice all combine perfectly in this song. It's my favorite Cars song. I still love it 36 years after it was recorded.

I always feel bad I didn’t give this album a chance back then. This is one of my favorite songs off it.

One of the most underrated songs (and albums) by The Cars. Elliot and Greg were both masters of subtle soundscapes.

Agree. After years of listening to every Cars album I've decided this is the best one.

I wonder if Ric based this song on the relationship with his second wife he was divorcing for Paulina?

Similar haunting sound as Brothers in Arms, Dire Straits.

Ah, so Elliot Easton wasn't the _only_ great soloist in that band! Greg's synth sounds amazingly guitar-like. What a wizard! Then Elliot takes us through the climax on Strat.

At some point during this tour they ditched this song in favor of Nightspots.

@@lauradeyoung793 But Nightspots is much more The Cars, though this is a good track.

Maybe I do need to check out Door To Door. That was a good deep song. Their last 80s album did have some lackluster pop fillers on it, two of which were the relatively biggest hit singles. But maybe the good stuff is in the deep tracks.
