A few weeks ago I heard a coworker say from across the hall, "Let's give it a go!" I excitedly said, "Mike?? That Chapter??" She said, "Who? What???" She's now subscribed lol.

Mike saying "Please shut up" when Lori insisted that what happened to Larry was a tragic accident and that she never intended on taking his life away from him was how I felt during her rambling accident justification speech

Her story about making the drug filled smoothie for herself, but he took it, kind of falls apart when you consider she changed his will to benefit her kids more than his.

It'll never cease to shock me how people can be together for so long, in this case almost 2 decades, and the one partner might as well be a stranger to the other because even after all this time, her husband never really knew her or what she was capable of. I'm sure he never would've thought she could do this to him, his kids, or the people she signed on to help. It's just sad. I feel so bad for all her victims.

I've been watching these for about 4 years now. Rewatched some older videos last night and the difference is crazy. No offense but you're a pro now. A genuine professional and it's obvious when you watch your new stuff. Thank you very much for what you do and I'm looking forward to what your channel will be in another 4 years.

Mike is so great at keeping things light hearted and funny while greatly respecting the victims and making sure they get the recognition they deserve.

I had a big laugh when the dispatcher said “Ok, tell me what happened” and the lady calling in the body replied with something along the lines of “Well nothing has happened, but there’s a dead body on the shore right in front of our house” HOW does finding a dead body on the shore in front of your house = nothing happened!? LOL

Nothing gives me more comfort than Mike and his “Hey you!”

Its beyond sad to hear someone that grew up knowing what it was like to not have a home or be considered poor and in need of help would then grow up to steal from organizations that strive to help those exact causes. People like that get zero sympathy from me. She prayed on the weak forgetting she once lived in their shoes. Awesome vid mike thanks for all you do

Out of all the true crime you-tubers and podcasters I watch and listen to, Mike, you are still my favorite. You can succinctly tell a story with humor and necessary facts better than any of the others!

If she loved him she couldn’t have killed him but also to change his will to be 80% left to her own children. Wtf. I guess she must have wanted to get hold of the money herself. Instead she gets the rest of her life in prison. 🙄

I love how at 21:59 she's baring her soul to the court, trying to explain away the murder with yet another BS story and apologizing so deeply to the victim's family, and she casually flips her hair back as non-chalantly as if she were going over her grocery list. The completely disconnected automatic and clueless self-centred primping of a narcissistic sociopath.

My in-laws lived in Coeur d Alene for years. Just moved to Florida. We miss it so much. It’s gorgeous there. Love the snow the skiing the lake(bbbrrr). Tub hill. Wish they still were there but they got sick of the snow and changing the tires in and out. Shoveling snow was not what they wanted to do now. They had a gorgeous mountain behind their house the kids all called it grandmas mountain:) side note: that lake is freezing all year round!!

She finds his phone 2 hours after he fell in while 'driving the boat' .... Suspicious as hell. I'm only halfway through. You do such an amazing job at story telling.

You can tell when someones guilty when they call 911 and explain what happened without promoting as well as they dont immediately ask for an ambulance/cops.

Hey you! I live in the Coeur d’Alene area and I think I learned more about this case from this video than anything else. Thank you so much for your awesome videos! I appreciate all the work you put into them for sure.

I knew Lori professionally during the time this story was evolving. I still find it shocking. Of all the people I have known, she is one of the last I would have expected to commit such atrocities. It was so crazy to watch this story gradually be revealed in the local press.

What makes this channel kind of perfect is the fact that Mike is just…imperfect? That’s a praise, not a criticism. I’ll elaborate. What I mean by imperfect is, it seems that Mike has a loosely written script that he goes by; talking points, even. But his delivery is not always perfect. A word gets stumbled over here and there. His reaction to certain details of the story seems to be real world, rather than one that’s been predetermined. Like he’s almost just shooting from the hip as he tells the story. Those little idiosyncrasies kept in, not edited over, are what keep bringing me back. Like, there are pauses after a sentence while he searches for the right word to use. I love the loose edges. It doesn’t have to be so clean cut. His personality is conveyed through the storytelling. Which, in turn, gives the channel personality. So again, nothing but praise. Edit: Tree

Just looking at that footage of Lori, I know she did it. Just the thought of losing my wife would have me a ball of weeping and gagging on snot in horror. She couldn't be more relaxed.

I appreciate you Mike as a really good researcher, storyteller, and comedian...but also for often expressing your love for your listeners at the end of your shows. That's not common from men in media, and it's nonexistent in the True Crime Genre. Bravo Buckaroo!

So many killers think making up a story about harming themselves will garner enough sympathy that it will get them off with a lesser charge. All it shows is that they may suffer from sociopathy since those are the types of people who would lie about something so serious.

Just 1 minute into her story you already know she's BSing. A) She wouldn't say "couldn't find him", it means she mentally already closed the case. B) She wouldn't be sitting there telling stories if she really wanted him back, she would be fighting tooth and nail to keep looking. Her facial expressions and the way she talked immediately reminded me of that cop who got interrogated by partners about an old case, pretending she's not a suspect, forgot her name.

The fact that Larry took her with all those kids , it blows my mind, poor guy , poor judgement.

... So what happened with Larry's will? Did they revert it back to what it was prior to her changing it or did it go forward with the changes she made? Such a great story though either way. Thanks for telling us about it, Mike!

So guys this guy is found his calling. As James said, his older stuff, where he was trying to figure out how to do this and how to present it, you can see clear motivations of his way he does the videos in his earlier stuff, but it's real rough and less believable, at any rate though, James said it, clear genius and I'm so happy to have found you. I usually throw your videos on the Bluetooth, the audio blaring in my vehicle when I go anywhere. It's basically a podcast but better! Thanks for the time that you spend on this stuff, and then making an engaging, entertaining way of being able to call nsume the stories, it takes real genius to do that. It's another creepy example of the "partial truths" told by murderers. Her initial story of how he went to look at the engine, got a horrible look on his face, and he went over the side of the boat was 100% the truth. The part she skipped was the reason for the horrible look and reason he went over. It's got to be horrible to figure out your spouse is killing you. She's kind of like an older version of Jodi Arias in that way.

hey mike, i love true crime. i have an immense fascination in trying to understand all the paths in life us humans can take both due to our free will and due to being products of our environment and circumstances. i'm always trying to put myself in others shoes and imagine what lead them to making certain choices and i find it to create some of the most raw feelings within myself- i assume because it's a way to deeper my connection to humans who have lived the millions of types of lives i'll never live, and to be able to empathize better with actions i personally haven't taken. true crime is so interesting to me due to this. i've always been deeply intrigued in diving into these cases and discovering where it all goes wrong for these people's lives. the whole nurture/nature argument. all this being said i struggle with a lot of mental health issues... my depression has taken so many years of my life from me that i genuinely think that by my late twenties i've easily spent 70% of my life in bed lol. ANYWAYS, I say all this because with all the true crime I watch, I've found your channel is one of the few that uplifts me simultaneously. normally I have to detach after awhile because it makes me feel numb. humans can do so many cruel, awful, disgusting things and seeing all the innocent lives that are needlessly taken is extremely overwhelming when consumed consistently. I've also recently left a very abusive relationship which furthers that fear of people being horrible. So, anyways, you do an amazing job at juxtaposing the feelings of despair these stories cause with feelings of love and care from yourself. after watching other channels i normally feel sad and want to log off, and they oftentimes end up making cycles of my depression feel worse, but you somehow have stayed relentlessly refreshing and I can enjoy your content, mourn for the victims, and learn about the crimes taking place no matter my current state of being. I know I overexplained and over shared, I'm not very good at articulating how I feel in few words... I never feel like I can find the right words to convey things in the gravity I wish to... unless I use ALL the words, haha. So that's all. I just wanted to leave a message wishing you well here alongside my own little perspective as to how your content works so well :) keep being you! hope you're enjoying yourself and never feel too overworked. always take care of yourself first before anything!
