They probably get threatened on a regular basis. If you call 911 too often, they stop coming. I bet they were hoping he'd knock over one or two shelves and leave. They probably save the 911 calls for armed idiots.
maybe. Bear spray isn't super strong vs pepper spray for humans. It doesn't need to be as bears are extremely sensitive to the scent. A determined attacker can push through a bear macing.

Coming from a family who owns small stores like this and works in them frequently, my patience could've never handled that situation that ended nicely.

I worked at a Family Dollar for about a year. This kind of stuff happened almost daily. It is insanely frustrating to deal with people who think the world owes them a favor.

Attorney here, I see a young man having a nice chat with the man at the pump then heading in to buy a bag of ice. The bag of ice causing multiple cold burns is the reason he tossed it away so quick. He told employee, who blew him off causing him mental anguish. This caused my client to have MW2 flashbacks putting him into search and destroy mode.
