I forgot to mention a few things… subtitles are available for this video, these thefts were 24 days apart from each other & that mofo won $100 on those tickets. He cashed them in at Shell 2 minutes later. Also, if you want to by a Kia… you should go talk to Cordell at Ken Ganley Kia!
@@bricktop6216 a misdemeanor is basically a ticket and not a big deal.....a felony will impact you for the rest of your life and also prolly probation or jail time
dude....I small talk with strangers all day every day, that is a sad sad thought of near schizophrenic paranoia you dot going on there, And Im delightful, I am the kind of person that would drive to you house to return your wallet you dropped in the parking lot like a dumbass. Dont have that outlook though for real. Maybe being a woman its different than when a man starts making small talk...idk
Anyone that comfortable with leaning over a convenient store counter is an immediate red flag. Would’ve never left the cigarettes up there like that. I know mistakes happen, but that dude was sketch from the get-go.
@@mikehunt3250 kinda hard being vigilant when ur working long hard shifts for days lose focus when the theft does happen it could be anyone an any time
Retired Correctional worker.... Excessive, empty conversation is always a red flag. Inmates would want to talk about mindless chatter, and we would always say "What do you want!?" The guy that stole the lotto was definitely up to no goos
Shit man why would you say that, I'm a plumber and consider myself to be friendy and good customer service skills so it's kind of bled over into all aspects of my life. Honestly if I'm interacting with someone I've always thought I'd look rude if I didn't engage in small talk. Little did I know I've looked sketchy!
people dont realize that being a co teaches you real world shit too. i can read anyone like a fucking book now. when your life depends on reading people you tend to get pretty good at it
His body language said it all. Most thieves are like that. Their brain is going a mile a minute but it's only thinking of one thing. It makes them agitated and fidgety.
He is so polite and gentle (looking), yet there is a nervousness to his voice, and he is looking around nervously as well. I guess this is not a psychopath (he knows he is doing wrong).
i guess thats something. considering both thefts were EASILY prevented she should be responsible for paying at least half. absolute brain dead cashier.
@andrew seriously some people can have a line behind them and still just take forever, like I get maybe having a question but it takes some people 5. Inutes to checkout
She needs to stop putting stuff on the counter within reach. All my cashiering jobs and they asked for something from behind the counter, they couldn’t even reach it until after the transaction was finalized. If they wanted a closer look, it’d still be in my hand 😂😂
That's what I trained my employees to do at the gas station I work at. With all new staff I teach them about the carton grab and runs with a training exercise
better this way id rather have the item stolen knowing you have him clear as day on camera and hes going to jail then have him jail and do it to the next place lol
this happened to me once and it never happened again. cigarettes and lotto stay with me until paid for. never set this stuff on the counter. it's behind the counter for a reason
2 things 1.never leave merchandise on the counter. 2. Temp tag comes back as fraudulent 99% of the time so either stolen car or can’t afford the payments hiding from the repo man / from city parking enforcement because it’s a hot car. 😅
@@henrykirk4457 Crooks are only charged with 1% of the crimes they have committed. Crooks like this are pulling scams and thieving everyday. Its a lifestyle.
Carton of newport 100s is such a red flag where I work. It's our most sold cigarette, but we almost never sell cartons of them. But every now and then someone will ask at a weird time of day (like 6:30 am before that area is truly open) and you're guaranteed to either see them break out a check (no thanks...) or a credit card (and they won't have their license or let you see it). We've also had multiple people run out with cartons at the store, usually with a newer hire who doesn't realize that might happen.
Good for her. Nice work getting that temp tag so quickly. This is precisely why it's important to be proficient on all the different applications you use at work. She only had seconds to work with and get that tag number.
Totally happened to me when I worked at gas station. Never leave carton of cigarettes on the counter. They wait for u to turn around to get them something else and then she gone!!!! 😆
Dam is that new person behind the counter 🤔 never leave that kind of stuff in hands reach of the customer and look away. Good stuff as always see ya on the next one 🙋👻
Samething with alcohol crazy how many times alcohol has been stolen in highschool by teens( not saying i was envolved ever). Its crazy how they put somethings in a aisle without a theft protector that can get you fucked up but Put ciggs and ecigs behind a counter
for some people this is easier. not condoning their actions however but even I struggle with getting and maintaining employment often. Unlike these tools however I don't feel like resorting to theft is easier despite my difficulties with employment.
A a few tips and tricks for gas station workers. - for scratchers and tobacco products always put them behind the register. Don’t worry about them getting mad. Most customers will grab them before paying and they try to jet off or they won’t have enough and will try guilt trip to give it to them for a few bucks off. others that are good will just won’t even touch them and grab them after they pay. Scratchers just leave them behind the register or somewhere that’s not reachable for the customer to grab. after scanning. Hope this helps
You should really have better shrink prevention policies. In both cases you had cashier walking away or turning away from restricted access products. She really should of held onto the products or atleast put it to the left of the POS.
Yeah, when I was working at a gas station I was always having hands on cig packs and tickets. Some customers were thinking I was paranoïac. This prove my point lol.
I don’t know how it works in America but in australia when I’m selling smokes I hold onto them until the payments gone through. I don’t even put them on the counter. Some people get pissed off at me but so many times people run off with them
At the ending, I was like "damn, almost had the plate." Camera: Moves up and zooms. ME: Holy shit. Yet other businesses claim they spent $10k on their system but the best zoom they got is zooming into the frame and not the actual area.
Rookie mistake for the cashier. I always get on my co-workers asses when they leave restricted sales items on the counter in reach of the customer and then walk away.
@@moonpaints4090 or shaming the greedy and stupid store owners who prefer to lose hundreds of dollars for theft every day instead of hiring a security guard for about $120 a day .
Not gonna lie, but that clerk has almost no type of situational awareness. Both of these thefts were very easily preventable and shouldn’t have happened
Hey Gas Station Encounters and Greetings from Germany - I´m here to thank you. Watched so many of your videos and learned alot from them. I work in retail aswell and last month alone i catched 8 shoplifter. Ok, one could run away, but his brother was still there 🙃 Anyway....learned alot about habits, fake put back technic, the scratching etc. Too bad there a still so many more shoplifter and we can only stop them if we are 100% sure, but im not giving up on them. Thanks for the awesome work and the entertainment 👍

Even if those products were out in the open and stolen, at least the thieves are in jail and GSE can release some good content. It's a WIN WIN situation.
They are in jail because some youtuber reported on them and ruined their lives. You don't know what situation they are in in their lives or what they are going thru and he comes around and ruines their live over a candy bar.
Dangg.. I thought every gas station employee knew those tricks!! You can't set any unpaid merchandise in reach for the Customer. Set it behind until the show payment.. hopefully y'all got some of the lost money back!! Those cartons are expensive!!
No shes really not very professional bc she should of never left those stratchers on the counter unattended .. knowing what could happen. Just bc you have surveillance doesn't mean you dont take all the necessary precautions as a cashier.
Same incident at the beginning happened to my father his first night working at 7/11. Dude outran the manager with a carton of Marlboros. Ever since that story when someone asks me for an item behind me I pick up whatever I have on the counter when I turn around
