Movie Knuckles is a good redesign, and this is coming from a fan that thinks most of the classic designs didn't need to be changed. His larger chest and taller stature communicate his above average physical strength and older age while not being a drastic departure like Boom. The only problems I have is that his snout should be a tad longer and pointier like in the original art, echidnas have a very pointy snout. And movie Knuckles has softer eyes for some reason, Sonic Team’s Knuckles has eyes with a sharper silhouette.

@@protocetid Eh, personally I think buffing him out, even just to Movie levels, is kind of uncreative. His massive fists convey his strength well enough, and it's cool to have a strong character who isn't all large, like basically every other Power character is in the series. I prefer Knuckles just being slightly taller than Sonic while still overall being slim, like in his Classic and Modern designs.

I like Idris' vibe with knuckles I just think it's a bit too deep for a 16 year old but I'll suspend my disbelief because I did go to school with niggas that sounded like that at 14 me included.

He made several mistakes, let's start with proto Knuckles, who is mistakenly called a reptilian. Sonic Retro has diligently investigated the origins of dozens of Sonic titles, here’s what they have about green Knuckles. "Of the designs entered, it was Takashi Yuda's design of a spiny green echidna which proved to be the most popular." Sonic Origins gave us sorely needed concept art for S3&K, it finally pulled back the curtains on the quite mysterious early days of S3&K’s development. Knuckles started out as a slightly older looking doppelganger of Sonic, ST also tried a black cat and then a mole. Knuckles was a mole for longer than any other form, at this point he was called Stealth, acquired his spiky knuckles and used to carry around shades. Sonic Jam has a random fact about Knuckles not being a fan of sunlight, it must be a remnant of when he was a mole and wore sunglasses during daylight. As you can see no reptiles here, they specifically chose a green echidna. As for the Nike branding, I’ll quote SR again. "Knuckles has a white crest on his chest. This is a remnant of a failed sponsorship deal with a shoe manufacturer (widely expected to be Nike)."

That was the same voice actor. He just ended up redoing all the lines with different direction at some point before release. And yes, some lines like "oh no" were taken from his earlier recordings.

I thought Adventure 2 was actually the peak of his character. Rouge pushed him way outside his comfort zone but he still managed to both get the Master Emerald back and help Sonic out a lot during the high stakes finale.

I can see that. Heroes was definitely when he fully became apart of the Sonic crew.

@@SuperZombieBros his character in SA2 is great it's his plot relevance that is the problem. Like every hero and villain is on Prison Island except knuckles.

@ Sonic. mid That’s true, he mostly does his own thing up until Team Sonic’s desert crusade. However, he’s still a lone warrior at heart so I think having him focus on his own quest is respectable to his character. Would’ve been nice to have Knuckles on Prison Island but he was more focused on one-upping Rouge on Emerald Shards.

actually she's named after the ruins of an ancient mayan city found in a rainforest in Guatemala. Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BC, Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period, c. 200 to 900. Hieroglyphic inscriptions at the ruins refer to the ancient city as Yax Mutal or Yax Mutul, meaning "First Mutal". which makes more sense because the knuckles tribe is based off of mayan and aztec culture
