Well, in my opinion, the Original Star Wars Trilogy (1977 - 1983) would've been perfection if they used the original script for Return of the Jedi. At one point, it was on par with the first two, but then it was rewritten into an inferior form.
I loved how the Batman symbol represents the overall theme of each movie: Batman Begins was fear, so you see the Batman symbol with bats in the sky. Dark Knight was chaos, so you see the Batman symbol with fire and explosions. Dark Knight Rises was pain, so you se the Batman symbol breaking and on this teaser the city buildings are breaking making the silhouette of the symbol.

I remember sitting in the theater for Harry Potter when this came on. I had no idea they were releasing a teaser for it already. I'll never forget the gasps from that packed theater (myself included) when we saw what it was. Amazing teaser.
+Sherhan Mahmud I was just about to write the exact same as you! Couldn't agree more. That last shot in the trailer made the hair on the back of my neck stand up!
@@ma2443 He's gonna be in The Flash, the movie will be about some sort of flashpoint where Flash arrives to the past in another earth, where he will meet Batman's Keaton
me too. I loved the new version of Bane but i don't wanna fight over which version of him is the better version. This movie was the ending I deserved. So for those that say this movie doesn't beat The Dark Knight and it didn't match the Hype and fell flat, Don't.
It was the first ever in cinema we saw Batman backing down from a villain. It was definitely a hallmark moment. That scene still sticks with me to this day.
Yeah it was damn epic with the Hans Zimmer's DK rises theme playin on background. It really gave a vibe that Gotham lost its hope ,Darkness has taken over and they need Batman now ...
Watching this teaser trailer with practically no footage from the actual movie was like an orgasm, especially the last part with the sky becoming a bat symbol and the music that went with it. Never before or since have I anticipated a movie so much.
I always loved the one thing that made this teaser trailer different from the fuller trailers that followed - the note at the end. All the other trailers, the final note goes up in a kind of hopeful sound. In this one at 1:16 as the title appears, it goes down and sounds a lot more sinister, followed with Bane walking towards a defeated looking Batman. The hype I had for this film based on this teaser was astronomical.
Este teaser mostró la semilla de lo que pudo haber sido la conclusión perfecta del caballero de la noche pero tristemente no superó la segunda entrega, Bane tenía un gran potencial como antagonista
"If you make yourself more than just a man, If you devote yourself to an ideal, then you become something else entirely, a legend." This dialogue give me chills whenever I hear it, it inspires me and others to rise up from hellish times in our lives.
That line and this trilogy meant so much to me that my dad included it at the end of his speech at my wedding reception, but he changed the last word to "husband" rather than "legend". It was so meaningful.
The Dark Knight Trilogy is being re released for Batman's 80th Anniversary this year of 2019 for March 30th, April 13th & April 20th in 5 cities for IMAX formatted screens only! 🦇
seen both in theaters except the first one nothing came close to dark knight that movie was a wild ride loved every second..i wish thed re release avatar in 3d before the second one comes out that movie was amazing in theaters
I did the same thing. Also watched I Am Legend in IMAX for the TDK prologue, and watched Ghost Protocol in IMAX for the TDKR prologue. It's just a different experience in the theater
This movie and deathlly hallows where the climax of Warner Bros and the ending of their most iconic franchises alosnside TLOTR in 2003 7 years later finally DC returns with Shazam and Joker
0:54 That moment when Gordon requests "The Batman has to come back" backed up with Hans Zimmer score was real stuff. The"He must, he must" part shows the pure emotions of how much they need Batman. Chills .
In loving memory of My sister who passed away in March. It was her one of the fav movies. I will come back to this comment one more time when my time will be up, to say one last goodbye
Just watched The Dark Knight Rises again 4 hours ago. The dialogue, the music, the chant and emotions when Bruce tells Commissioner Gordon _"a hero can be anyone, even a man who would do something as simple & reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulder and letting him know that the world hadn't ended"_ and then flying bomb out of Gotham, are the same as they were when I watched it at theatre in 2012. I still got teary-eyed again. 😢❤️ 22.4.2023
Greatest teaser in the entire cinematic history, almost 10 years passed and I still get the goosebumps each time I hear that ascending music with Gary Oldman’s “he must, he must”
Dark knight trilogy ranking 3.Batman Begins 8.3/10 , Good 2.Dark knight rises 10/10 great conclusion 1.Dark knight 10/10 Masterpiece and great preformance by heath ledger
3: TDKR - (7/10) plot holes 2: TDK - (9/10) not a batman movie 1: BB - (10/10) actually a batman movie Now if you are strictly talking about entertainment value, then sure your order works, but not at the expense of proper storytelling.
I still remember the goosebumps I got the first time I saw this. The moment where Batman was backing up while Bane approached spoke volumes. You could tell he was getting outclassed just from that quick shot. I was super anxious to see that fight even though I knew how it ended. Like others have said, the final product fell short but nothing could have matched the hype
the only reason it fell short to people was because they had unreasonably high expectations, I have seen every Nolan Batman movie and Rises delivered on an epic ending.
The ZombieMan I agree to a certain extent. I mean, it's predecessor ascended into the pop culture zeitgeist in a way that few movies from the last decade ever have, so that's a lot to live up to. On top of that, I honestly don't think TDKR was as cohesive as BB or TDK. It was a solid endpoint, but definitely the weakest in the trilogy
Christopher Thomas Now that is bullshit, it is easily better than BB, and it is cohesive the only incohesive part is Blake knowing Bruce was Batman which was bullshit
The only thing that disappointed me was the final fight between Batman and Bane. The first fight was just brilliant, the last one was boring and was made worse by Catwoman saving him.
The ZombieMan, The fact that they thought sending EVERY cop in the city down to the sewers for Bane, alone, was something much more illogical than what we would have seen in BB or TDK. As for the fight scenes, hand to hand combat has never been Nolan's strength. The guy can plot out a good, sprawling action set piece, but his staging of close quarters combat leaves a LOT to be desired.
I think what stood out to me when I was anticipating the movie was just the sheer shock to see Batman at the end of the trailer. He's in trouble. He's being pushed back. He's tired. He's scared. You see this trailer and right away you know he's met his match.
Name a trilogy that was as innovative as this was. It set the bar for "Comic book movies". Look at all the comic book trilogies over the years and find me one as great as this one.Spidey 3 lame, X3 lame, Blade 3 lame, Iron man 3 a snooze. The jury is still out on Cap 3. But still nothing can match these movies all 3 were nothing short of masterpieces. A-list casting, brilliant writing, story telling and such a fitting end. People can hate on these movie all they want. Batman is Christopher Nolan/Bale and no one will ever match this. Mark my words every Batman that comes out from here on will always get compared to Nolans vision. Updated: 1/15/2017: Also I'm talking about just "Comic book movies". After seeing Cap 3, which was more like Avengers 2.5, was certainly great and probably one of the best Marvel movies ever (Guardians of the galaxy) But Cap 1 wasn't bad but it wasn't considered a classic. Captain America in comparison to Batman holds no weight what so ever. Batman is probably the most legendary comic book character in the history, and I myself am a Marvel guy. Star Wars is considered a SAGA...not a "Trilogy". There are now 8 and they all tie in. Ben Affleck as Batman: not bad, but his character will never be as developed as Bruce Wayne like Bale had done. Affleck was just thrown into the fire like all the previous Batmans have in the past. No back story, no origin (Because we have seen it plenty already). Although he might be the more imposing Batman, I feel in the next 20 years out of all the incarnations of Batman, he will just be another footnote In Batman lore. BATMAN vs Superman was nothing short of disappointing. Even though Goyer wrote the script, he was missing the one key element that made his writing in NOLANS trilogy special...which was The Nolans them-self (Chris and John Nolan). They visualized a masterpiece and didn't give into WB execs who wanted to ruin his vision with the likes of the Riddler, and the campy nonsense that went on in the 90's. No one had ever done what Nolan did, which was a sense of realism. If you read about the realistic approach of comic book movies after TDKR every single person who has made a comic book film has used his blueprint, which makes it "INNOVATIVE" I am taking a more of a wait and see approach to BATFLlCK. --------------------- Back here in 2020 - 2/16/2020 After just finishing THE Dark Knight trilogy for the one millionth time , after justice league, Ben Affleck leaving the role of Batman shortly after and justice league flopping back in March 2018. This still confirms my belief that Chris Nolan’s Batman still stands as the greatest Batman of all time. Now we have Matt Reeves taking a stab at it. With Robert Pattinson to play Batman. They just released a new look at the costume. I guess I do not know how to feel yet since the movie has not been released and won’t be for another year. But I hope by the next time I come back to this post which is always usually after I finish re watching the dark knight trilogy again, I can form another opinion. But I played wait and see game with these new incarnations of Batman since Bale was cast as Batman. I will do the same with Robert Pattinson. You know in a way I kind of want this Batman to fail. So they can just give us the Batman we really want, instead of just giving us a new origin story every 5 years. We need Terry McGinnis origin story already aka Batman Beyond! Bring back Bale or Keaton to play an older Batman give us the future of Batman not the tired old Bruce Wayne origin story we’ve seen 20 times already. As far as the trilogy thing goes, there is still no Trilogy better than this one. I mean if you want to say as far as sagas which is a whole new discussion. We just saw the end of the Infinity Saga which is the most legendary of all time. Come on now Endgame and Infinity wars will go down as the GOAT movies ever in my opinion. Also we just wrapped up the Skywalker Saga. Which had its share of disappointing movies, but ended strong with the Rise of Skywalker. Black Panther might have a shot at being a great trilogy when it’s all said and done but we still don’t have a part 2. Spider man marvel movies have not been as special special as they could have been with two movies in and the trilogy being completed next year 2021. Far from home was a bit disappointing. But the way movies are going it seems we are looking past the classic trilogy motto, everyone wants there own saga and shared movie universe. Look all these years later everyone is still copying Dark Knight trilogy. The realism of a comic book movie was the first of its kind. We shall see who is next.
Jim Fitton oh its one of those tit for tat nit pick posts you're going for. "Name a trilogy that was as innovative as this was. It set the bar for comic book movies." was Angel Gali's exact words. so does mine but I wouldn't use Star Wars as the one that set the bar as he said, rather I would go with Chris Nolan's own example as which trilogy's that set a bar was The Godfather. a film in which both directors were involved with directing duties and script writing.
I agree with the Godfather films being innovative, gangsters written at Shakespearian levels you can’t deny that. I do say it fails as a trilogy because the third film is considered unnecessary. I read that Coppolla would have preferred it if the film stayed at 2 parts. My reasoning behind naming Star Wars as innovative is that the ILM studio was basically formed under those films. The quality of genre films improved a lot better since then, those films were a red letter day for the effects industry. Now I wouldn’t call this a tit for tat debate. I’m not stealing any thunder of Dark Knight Trilogy by naming a trilogy that is as innovative as the films. I understand Nolan’s trilogy is the first successful comic book trilogy to date. If people ask a question, I’ll answer them, I’ll educate them. There’s no need for rhetoric on the internet.
2024 and still watching this. Me, a Grade 8 kid watching this on Yahoo movie’s upcoming films section. Then watched it on a pirated DvD then a year later on TV. Time flies like a bullet and the TDK trilogy is still a timeless masterpiece.
Have watched this movie a zillion times and it still gives me goosebumps. Incredible work. Richly satisfying and larger than life film.Especially the pit climbing scene. No matter what others say, this flick is superb.
Right on this day 8 years ago a shooting at the Aurora, Colorado theater during the viewing of this movie. I still feel bad for everyone up to this day who came to see the movie only to wound up not leaving the theater alive.
Probably the most hyped I'd ever been for a film. Me a 10 years old seeing this teaser trailer for the first time got me so excited. And then seeing the movie a year later at the age of 11 blew my mind. I love this film. One of my all time favorites.
I agree, the first should end when the truck closes with the bomb in it, after bane gives the black gate speech. then the whole second movie could be seeing city life under duress and have more screen time of bruce in the pit which is my personal favorite parts of the movie
+PhoenixIceable I wholeheartedly disagree, there's no point on dividing this story in 2 parts. First of all where can you leave the cliffhanger? this film is very consistent in its pacing and a very well thought out film that has absolutely no fillers. No subplot needed to be stretched out because otherwise we would be waiting for the movie to pick up the pace. If you ask me what film should've been divided into 2 parts I would say Spider-Man 3 because in that film you can't see the symbiot taking over peter and then having venom in the end in just 1 film. The Cliffhanger of that film should've been right when Eddie is taken over by the symbiot in the bell tower.
8 years ago, in the middle of my STEM class in senior year of high school I snuck on a website to watch this trailer the morning it was released. Feels like the movie was released some months ago.
I'd heard rumors about a third Nolan Batman prior to seeing this teaser. I think I knew it would happen at some point but didn't realize how close it was. I first saw the teaser when I saw Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows 2 in 2011. The hype was overwhelming.
i remember when i saw this trailer in theaters. it got me so pumped. ESPECIALLY when we got the last image of the bane fight cuz no one knew what bane looked like, so it was like, "woah man that guy is huge and batman looks actually scared!" the movie was so epic.
I remember I was seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and I had no idea this was even a thing and when he says "legend Mr. Wayne, Legend!" Chills ran down my spine. And then I saw they were doing Bane next, well let's just say I was thinking about Batman during all of Harry Potter.
Christian Bale is, and will always be the perfect Bruce Wayne/Batman. Affleck has big shoes to fill. I know that the two adaptations are trying to be different, but for me a realistic Batman movie that stays grounded is the best way to go. I would have loved to see Heaths Joker on screen again! I honestly think they should give Joker a rest from screen for quite some time, you will never top that.
Sivaraj Kumar hes the most realistic batman ever. No where near the real batman. bales batman isnt a good detective, hes an alright fighter, but he is still good
Own this movie, probably have seen it 20+ times, but seeing the shot of Bane stalking Batman up the steps makes my body overwhelmed with chills. I’ll never EVER forget everyone going absolutely berserk over it because everyone now knew, in this film, Bane would break the bat. And it freaked everyone out. It also got nearly everyone on board to Tom Hardy as Bane. People had complained he was too small, but after seeing this teaser it made believers out of everyone to see how massive and menancing he looked.
I almost died when I first saw this teaser. I had the chills like crazy and I still do to this day when I come back and watch it again to relive it. I literally yelled out loud and I would just keep going back to the part where they quickly showed Bane and I would just replay it over and over. Then the part where Bane is getting in the frame and Batman is backing up out of breath had me going nuts. I literally was counting the days till this movie came out. I just knew what was coming. Batman had finally met his match physically and I was ecstatic.
just realize, you know how Robert Downey's said to be the real-life iron man? well bale really must be the real-life batman! think about it, he works so hard for every movie role he makes, gains/drops pounds almost like nothing, and absorbs all kinds of knowledge for the background of a role's life. Very few actors put themselves under the pressure that he has!
Saleem Frazer who? He didn't play Batman though, did he? Only if he played Batman he could be considered as Batman. Seriously, look up Top 10 Christian Bale performance, the guy really works!
Well if he's lucky, maybe he will play Batman some day :) Also, what makes Bale an even better Batman was that he was a real fan of the graphic novels, Ben Affleck himself has always been a Batfan, that's actually why he wanted to be daredevil as to get as close to the role as possible. And he too is a hard-working actor, maybe not at Bale proportions but he's still done a good job, for the most part.
Well now that you've mentioned it, I've never even thought of someone having a blend of both styles, like not just "I'm not the one wearing hockey pants!" Hints but a more visible show of both. That's a very good point you bring up.
Nope. This way it's something special. And it remains that way forever. As much as I liked the DCEU, it would taint the Dark Knight Trilogy if its connected.
DoomRulz The whole concept of The Dark Knight Trilogy is to bring Batman into a realistic world in the first place. Putting an alien from Krypton, a pilot with a magical ring, and a literal goddess into it would not mix, and destroys what makes the trilogy great in the first place.
I don't know that I agree. I really think it could've been done, if it had been written properly. The tone is different, I agree, but there's nothing that explicitly prevents other JL characters from existing in this movie verse.
@@galenmarek7107 3 years later i hope Pattinson's batman too is independent off dc movies because it looks like mystery crime detective movie nore than a superhero movie cant wait for it
I LOVE trailers like these, where they barely show anything from the movie but they get so Hyped to watch it. I just with more superhero trailers can be like this again.
What I always heard: "If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, than you become something els entirely; 'A legend, A story, A legend'". Meaning: Batman begins: A legend. The dark knight: A story. The dark knight rises: A Legend.
Ten years later, this trailer still makes me feel the excitement of seeing the end of the trilogy and the fear that Bane generates walking towards Batman.
I don't care what anyone says, this movie was great. The entire series was great. I keep saying it's hard for me to decide whether I like affleck or bale more, but the more I watch these movies and trailers I realize what a revolutionary series this was. It made people take not only Batman seriously, but also the superhero genre in general! Such an iconic series. Don't even get me started on Heath Ledger's Joker portrayal.
1:23 - When the trailer first leaked, I remember people online were thinking that Bane was growing bigger and that Batman's ears on his cowl were ripped off
