Well said and it's a very harsh reality! Unfortunately anxiety is a feeling that is a constant feeling. You can't seem to ever be 100% relaxed or breath. There's always a part of you that worries about them no matter the age they become in the world we live in. You just do your very best, give them the tools to handle themselves and pray they aren't harmed out there.

Very commendable but awfully risky. You can look on youtube and find videos of people trying to stop kidnappings only to be stabbed or shot to death before they escape. There is a chance that your presence alone might scare someone like that off. However, you take that risk. You might have potentially saved a life but then your mother and father, brother and sister, aunt uncle, and friends would be without you. The only time I would put myself in danger like that is if I had a gun on me. So i could protect myself at the same time. Otherwise it's sort of a bone head move.

I ended up arrested, and charges filed, even sued in a civil court. A boyfriend trying to get his drunk gf in the car, after he caught her getting high in the bathroom with two guys, that incident almost ruined my life. So please, don't give advice that could cause people to get hurt or arrested.

You have to think about the amount of entitlement people must have when they feel entitled to take another person's life. It permeates their whole lives, so it's not surprising that it happens in prison too.

Once I fainted in a club. Hadn't drunk anything just felt dizzy due to a health problem. My house was 20 minutes away and I decided to leave. I was with a friend there (at a foreign country must I add). She didn't accompany me home because she wanted to stay at the club with some friends of her and she said she would have to pay again to enter if she wanted to return. When I left, the security guy at the door saw me and he got worried because I seemed pretty bad. He said that he could not leave his job to accompany me but he could do an exception for my friend and let her return without paying anything. At that moment she was already back inside the club and I didn't want to go back in, out of fear of fainting again. I never spoke to her again. Please please please no matter what gender or age you are, do not return home alone in such a bad state and always take care of your friends.

It’s a difficult one in fairness. The passer by may have thought they were a couple having an argument, and that she chose to associate with him. If they’re together at like 2am or whenever it was it would be normal to think they were in some form of relationship. The witness probably didn’t want to be a ‘white knight’ and get involved where he may not be wanted. Plus I think a large percentage wouldn’t choose to confront a 6’2 angry looking guy in the early hours, in a no CCTV area, unless they were totally sure it was warranted. Totally different in hindsight, and I bet the guy wishes he’d done something to help. But I can understand why he figured it wasn’t his business and that they knew each other.

Brian Crawford, yes like the animal who kidnapped and kept three young ladies prisoner in his home for 10 tens. He barely fed them and fathered a child with one of them. When he was caught and jailed, he committed suicide within a few months because he didn't like the way he was being treated or the food which was far better than the way he treated his victims for 10 years. @@Arsenic3333 I think it's a case of the the worst case scenario you can create with the available information, see a kid screaming and being pushed into a car, or being dragged away, see someone passed out, see or hear an argument, see someone crying, there are worst cases for every one of those and you stopping and questioning it or even stopping and getting your phone out could prevent it becoming the worst. If a situation makes you feel uncomfortable don't just walk by, a watcher is a deterrent, and if you stop and look at something others will too, it's human nature.

I was backpacking in Albania, we met a group of American volunteers and started drinking with them. one of the girls got hammered and decided to walk back to her hostel... which was like 5 miles away. Not a single one of her friends went with her because they wanted to keep drinking. so one of my buddies decided to walk her back. sometimes people just don’t want to be accountable for their friends.

It's important that no one allows campus police to not report assaults. And file to the general police force as well. If they refuse, have someone take you to file with off campus police. Campus police are paid by the University. They can be very good but they answer to the College/University that employs them. Because of the very public cases that have happened in the past few years this doesn't happen as often anymore. But you have to understand. For these schools, reports of danger to students currently attending their school is not exactly a positive advertisement when millions of people are choosing a university to attend.
