A 1025 HP Drag car that is street legal, with a warranty: The Dodge SRT Demon 170.
Dodge's newest release, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has not only shaken up anyone standing near it when it starts off, but all of the owners of the original 2018 SRT Demon.
The release of this incredible muscle car has gotten a whole lot of press both good and bad with many fighting with their wallets to get one and some with potential lawsuits. The release has been thick in controversy from the dealer markups to the many lies from Dodge itself. In this video we'll dig into the Supercharged V8 monster and many of the problems that have risen since it's resurrection.

Dodge needs to do what Ford was talking about and forcing dealers to stop marking up the prices at the threat of shutting down their dealership.

What Dodge did with the Challenger comeback was brilliant, awesome cars, awesome options, faster and more comfortable than my hotrods of the late 60's and early 70's and tunes too boot. It's too bad that the day is here in bold print that the consumer is so plentiful that a returning customer is not even thought of anymore. The customer has become non important and that kind of takes the fun out of it as fast if not faster than the governments attack ( assault) on the people. Imagine the new world the govt is trying to misprision us into there will be no dragstrips, no electricity to operate the electric car if you happen to be one of the very few allowed to own one. Commuter trains and massive walking.
@PhilipBlank
@PhilipBlank 11 месяцев назад
That’s a great point on who their target customer is, they know they have a winner with the cars on the sheer number of people willing to purchase them that they did not have to focus on repeat customers when the car is exclusive. We’ll have to see long term how things go but I’m glad they are putting things out like this still until they cannot anymore.

We had a 71-340 Demon, 71 Dart Swinger 340, 440 sixpack 70 challenger, 426 68 charger, 71 426 challenger, Saleen 570x challenger and others. When my dealer went to order me a 170 Demon for MSRP they were told to have me call them instead. For what they wanted, I and the dealer told them to stick it. I went c8 instead and E-Ray on order. Ford/Mopar Dealership:(
@PhilipBlank

Wow what a legacy of a collection! That is sad to hear and has been the common theme across the board, the world’s gotten smaller and speciality cars have surged in demand making it impossible to sell them for a reasonable price. Hopefully you’ll be able to experience one in person, though the E-Ray looks incredibly fun and you should not have regrets on that move!

I own a 2018 Demon and the dealer never offered the Demon 170 to me (first right of refusal), and I had called and told them that I was interested and to call me back. Right, but for that kind of money there are an infinite amount of other options you could do that would beat it on both the track and the strip, but the end results and being custom isn’t what will hold the value long term, I’d imagine that this car will continue to go up in value through the years especially if it has a 2018 vin mate. Beautiful Challenger. Showing that Dodge is King of Muscle. Dodge needs to stay with gasoline. They can build some battery car. Sell the electric crap to battery boys So that car is faster than the Dodge Pro Stock? I haven't heard any of what your saying. You have to get those cars at a Direct Connection Dodge Dealer?
@PhilipBlank
@PhilipBlank Год назад
The difference from the direct connection drag pack cars is the Demon 170 has a warranty and is street legal sold from factory as is through Dodge Dealerships. The “pro stock” cars are mostly custom cars with upgrades of parts you could buy through direct connection but it takes a lot more custom work and are full on race cars and not really in the same class. I’m sure people have nodded challengers with the drag packs that are faster but these are “stock” 1025HP Challengers.

SOOOO many people badmouth Stellantis, Dodge, and Challengers for quite some time now and now here is THAT automotive world fighting over a freaking car most likely not so much for the love of cars but most likely for the greedy ass love of the money they think they will make in a few years when the cars appreciate if that will even happen. The way things are going in the world it seems very likely the shit will soon hit the fan with all these mega dollar cars and prices will drop to levels way below what the cars were bought for. I had a '70 AAR cuda that I bought in 1973 that I sold in 2021 because I don't see prices rising much more on collector cars due to the fact that finances in this country are out of control and something has to give...soon. I got out when the getting was still good. Good luck greedy Demon buyers...

Even if the demon 170 was called something else it would still make the 2018 demon not that special anymore because this newer version is quicker with better innerparts...it's also not fair that normal demon owners got a first chance of purchasing....they should have gave an opportunity to everyone else to have something rare....not including those willing to buy extremely over sticker
@PhilipBlank
@PhilipBlank Год назад
Haha I’d disagree, the 2018 Demon is still an absolute monster, 840 horse is no joke and an absolute blast. On paper the 170 is definitely more insane, but in reality the 2018 is still a gem, just like how cars from the 60s and 70s are still desirable. Value probably will be less but they are still worth more than when new so maybe they will get used a bit more now. Also the reason many 2018 Demon owners are upset is that they did not get first chance at them. Everyone got equal opportunity to the new one’s, sadly it’s turned into which 3000 people had deeper pockets.
@imwaytogoodlookingtobeyour1188
@Philip Blank I'm not saying the previous demon was slow....it's very fast ....all I'm saying....this newer demon is faster....has better/stronger internals....which makes the previous demon less special.....it's still special but not as special as this newer demon

Little bit of both, people who are calling to not offer those numbers don’t have a shot, the dealers are holding them at a certain amount and then waiting for someone to come along to pay it or bid it up. It’s worth what people are willing to pay for it so the dealers are just taking advantage of the opportunity really.
