I like that you mentioned that part of the movie about Karras’s beliefs and that part of his life with his mother. And also, how Pazuzu was somehow chasing Father Merrin from the begining until they eventually came face to face. Great video!!
I think that Karras is really the main character of the film! I appreciate this movie in different ways the more I see it! The one thing I could have brought more attention to in my review is that opening scene! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I don't see Father Karras' death as a suicide, but as a man prepared to give up his own life to save the life of an innocent - wasn't that the ultimate example of Christ and part of the teachings of his faith? Excellent review, Liam... And a fantastic movie! :)
Great episode, Liam! For me, when you look at The Exorcist with a clear mind (remembering that the year was 1973) it is the scariest movie ever made because of Friedkin’s cinematic genius. There’s a reason why the film got 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. No other “horror’ film has topped it ….not even Hitchcock’s Psycho, which got 4 nominations. Looking forward to seeing your next episode, Liam!
Definitely, at the time of release there would have been nothing like it. It was exciting for me to make a video with my thoughts and feelings on this film. Thank you for keeping up with the series!
I want to take this opportunity to Thank You So Much, Liam, for all your hard work and dedication to your channel. Countless hours of putting together your episodes are deeply appreciated by your viewers. You know, Liam, you should consider teaching film history (with a speciality in horror). Many schools teach film history. If you were here in America, you would fit right in with the film schools at such as USC, UCLA or New York University. By the way, my name is Ron.
Thank you so much for your kind words Ron! I appreciate them massively and I appreciate you being here and keeping up with the series, I'm more than happy that you're enjoying it! I don't think I would make a good film teacher as I have a LOT to learn and watch myself haha, but I really appreciate it! I'm just a nerd at the end of the day!
Great video I'm a big Exorcist Fan and horror collector just like you, have some great stuff also big comedy Laurel and Hardy collector. Great stuff. 😊
Episode I've been waiting for, can you imagine being back in 1973 and you and your missus or husband are sat down on Christmas day and you get 2 tickets to go and see the exorcist, by new year you're given divorce papers 🤣🤣🤣
I saw this for the first time a few weeks ago in theater and was completely blown away. New favorite for sure, it's just so striking and I get excited every time I hear about it now
Seeing it in a cinema must be an incredible experience. It certainly is a timeless film and the fact that it's still so impactful is really something special!
