Thanks for this. Not finding that specific model, but seeing LOTS of similar ones. Will pick one up sometime. Also, widescreen BVM - I need that in my life.
Will just keep the search up and refresh, haha. Literally "0 results for extron rgb 203 xi" lol. Same without the space. Will keep an eye out. Thanks and I subbed :)
Great video. i am considering an Extron to go with my McWill modded Game Gear. It has VGA out with RGBhv. Any idea with the lag (input latency) is on that box? From your explanation, i understand it can also upscale 240p to a higher resolution?
I can't say for certain, but I've heard there is almost no lag when using these boxes. And no, this is not a scaler. This is simply a sync processor, meaning it will only combine or split a sync signal to whatever you output it as.
What resolution do you have your laptop running on? Do I need to turn the resolution down to something? I’m planning to connect my PC to my BVM-20F1U once I get one of these boxes.
Oh wow I forgot to mention that in the video. I believe I had the resolution around 720p. The highest resolution the BVM D24 can take and PCs normally don't output interlaced resolutions. Did I have to manually lower my resolution in my PC's video settings? I believe I did. Just make sure it's somewhere around the 720p settings.
are there any other extrons that this is known to work with this 203 is pretty expensive, i just got 14n6u and am struggling to find a good way to connect my pc to it and have yet to find any solutions
ingoodmusic you can find this on eBay. On average, I see 2 to 3 of them at a time pop up. They shouldn't be too rare to find. A good price for one of these should be $100 or less.
Nope. If you want something like that, try looking into the DVS 605. There are different models of this, so make sure you do your research and look for the one that fits your needs.
Chikoraro that depends. If your Mac mini has DVI-I out and can output a 640x480 resolution, then yes. Otherwise, newer Mac mini’s have HDMI out which will require to convert to D-Sub 15.
@@chikoraro This depends on the PVM you are using and the type of connection coming out of your PC and at what resolution. As seen in my video, the DSUB15 port was outputting at 720p. Since my BVM takes in a 720p signal, all I had to do was to connect it to the RGB 203 Rxi and I got an image in RGsB. If you're using a PVM that only takes in a 480i signal, then you will need a downscaler (or some sort of converter that will convert your PC out signal to 480i) in addition to the RGB 203 Rxi. Remember, the 203 Rxi does not downscale. It will only change your signal from either RGBS, RGsB or RGBHV and convert it to either RGBS, RGsB or RGBHV.
That's because standard PC resolutions are 480p and up. You can always downscale your PC signal to your PVM, but you need a downscaler. I show many other options in my downscaling video series.
Phatnightmares That's cool. I prefer native resolution 15khz with scanlines but this looks really great too. I'm sure stuff like Dreamcast emulation looks great. Multi sync monitors are great if you play retro and modern games on the same set up. Plus, no latency :)
