Oh yeah. Funny how he knew how halo infinite would be a disaster ahead of time. Not to mention this video dropped in September 2019, one year prior to the new console releases, and 5 months later Covid happened and it only made that game worse. I’m a former Xbox 360 owner who jump to PS4, and perhaps maybe PS5 now, Xbox series X is not as bad as the Xbox one, but it looks like they still haven’t learned their mistakes. PS3 was bad but nowhere close to Xbox one and at least they were able to redeem themselves
@@levmikhovat release it was unfinished but people were positive (at least the grappling hook was fun), then they failed to do the service part of the live service. Forge? Late, split screen? No we lied, play this new old map and get bored! Now a bunch of 343i devs fired, higher up left, the news even said they abandoned the slipstream engine in favor of the unreal engine.
@Lev Mikhov initial reception was decent. But it's been supported horribly (more accurately, it's barely been supported at all) post-launch. A lot of it's initial positive reception was centered around it being a good start for a live service title to build off of. Then 343 proceeded to not build anything off of it, allowing it to stagnate and die out. Basically it was well-received to some extent because of the potential it had, but now is seen as a failure because of the devs not guiding it to reach that potential.

@@hogman3543I bought a ps5 and literally after a month of use, I got a green screen and the entire console stopped working entirely. Never gonna touch a playstation console again, I'll stay happy with my pc.
I haven’t turned on my Xbox this year and the only time I did was to test out Redfall which was a complete dumpster fire. After playing for an hour I turned off my Xbox until Starfield.
I still remember I said redfall is gonna suck on the xbox official acc when they released their battle pass trailer before the game was even out. And I got hated on by Xbox fans do Kuch with them saying the gameplay is gonna be great

After the embarrassing launch of Redfall, it's really a sad time to be an Xbox fan. They should've advertised the amazing Hi-Fi Rush as their big exclusive rather than Redfall. They could've avoided the hate probably. 💀

Which doesn’t really make them exclusives. They used to boast about having Cuphead as an exclusive while literally everyone was able to play it on their PC, even if it’s over 10 years old cause the game has really low system requirements.

Lol..I know. I had ps1 ps2 psp than got xbox 360 and than a xbox one . I wanted xbox 360 because everyone was buying it in 2007, I was a teenager than and online was getting BIG. I remember everyone was buying an xbox but ps3 was also selling. I made a huge mistake , I didn't have issues with xbox 360 but red rings but xbox one is so bad ; server issues, barely any games, controller burning out on the original xbox ones. I had Countless issues and repairs done to my Xbox one. But most of my best memories in video games were playstation 2. Sony was awesome and i played mostly every game which is hard to believe . In the upcoming new generation I'm buying ps5 hands on.

I've always had Playstation and Nintendo, and my friends pressured me into getting an Xbox for 3 years until I finally got one and now I never play it.
Why? Death stranding is awesome and is a perfect example on how games are changing. Just because you can’t sit through cutscenes and actually take the time to understand the story doesn’t mean it’s a horrible game.

@@ClixxBro that was one of my favorite parts. I also remember playing nintendo land with my cousin, which was a blast. But probably my favorite wii U title was probably twilight princess hd cause of nostalgia and whatnot. It was weird with everything mirrored though. Wind waker hd was great aswell

This is so much more relevant now than ever considering the Phil Spencer interview on Kinda Funny Games. Him basically admitting they can't outclass Sony or Nintendo in hardware sales due to the amount of digital investment in those platforms and ecosystems is the most defeated I've ever seen him sound lol 10 years later and the damage Don Mattrick did to Xbox is STILL felt at Microsoft. They're pretty much guaranteed to never recapture the marketshare they had during the 360 gen between this and the fact Sony knows damn well not to repeat the PS3 launch ever again

This video aged perfectly. Xbox exclusives stayed generally underwhelming, and now they very well might be announcing the end of the the Xbox next week.
They're more like Sega if Sega had a net billion dollars worth of game companies under their belt. Also fun fact, the original Xbox controller is heacily inspired by the Dreamcast controller, so really history is repeating itself

I felt this way about Xbox ever since the 360. It felt like the majority of Xbox feature games was the iterative EA sports or shooting games. Fortunately they've improved ever since this video came out.

Especially today, this video is even more true than it was 4 years ago. Xbox has found the ONLY way to deflate their own systems' worth. Day and date PC releases and potentially porting over "exclusives" to the competition. It may be time for me to say farewell to my massive collection of Xbox systems and games. Phil Spencer and the Xbox Team OWE their community an explanation of where they are going and EXACTLY what we can expect this year that warrants us keeping our consoles. There was so much promise with all the acquisitions, and now it looks like I didn't even need an Xbox to begin with. Xbox. Phil Spencer. Why should I stay with your brand? THAT is the question you NEED to answer.
May 2023 Xbox leadership said that they believe good games dont sell consoles But they also sad that they are third place behind Sony and Nintendo for not having good games.
Haven't a Wii U but you can't complain with that library Heck, breath of the wild was designed for that console (oh yeah and splatoon was popular, even though I know dunkey isnt a fan)
I mean the kid had a point, sure there were a handful of great games on the Wii U but the system itself was lacking in every area possible and Nintendo still thought it would sell because kids love touch screens amirite?
The PS4 didn’t have a strong start to its library, but sooner or later, all of its exclusives were gorgeous. Xbox on the other hand, it’s exclusives all feel kinda the same…

Don't know why people are saying this didn't age well because I think it really has. Xbox has announced a lot of interesting exclusives recently but they still haven't released any of them yet. Some like Rare's Everwild had to completely restart development due to the issues at the studio so we won't be seeing that game anytime soon, same goes to Hellblade 2 because the game just started full production which is upsetting and shows Microsoft is announcing games way too early. We definitely know 343 is having issues with Halo Infinite, hopefully that's an amazing game at launch otherwise that will be a major blow to Xbox. Also most of the announced games we haven't seen gameplay at all, the only gameplay we've seen was from Halo, Forza, and Stalker 2 I am still excited for Xbox's future but they are not quite there at redeeming themselves from the disaster that was the Xbox One. All we have are CGI trailers from promising IPs, that doesn't guarantee quality. We need to see the gameplay trailers and get the games in our hands.
This did age well. Xbox series X sounds like it has a better launch than Xbox one but they are still not learning from their mistakes. They are still porting their games onto PC which is bad. Xbox is just isn’t what it used to be. Ik better than some because I was a fanboy of my Xbox 360 and got an Xbox one after. For 2 years I then traded it in for PS4 and I don’t regret it. Yes the Xbox one had backwards compatibility but the PS4 just felt more like a console I would play in. As much as I love the OG halo trilogy and reach. Halo and gears of war are just not cutting edge games anymore. Why do you think they’d only sold 38 million units? The Xbox 360 did feel like a console and the word exclusives actually meant something to the Xbox brand. It’s sad because The original Xbox was the first Consol that I played in. I am planning on getting a PS5 because it’s just convinces me that it’s better over Xbox series X.
@@ehrtdaz7186 for the consumers who bought xbox . As much as one would want to live in an ideal world without exclusives, if you pay for a console you would definitely want to have some exclusives. I would not be happy if I bought ps5 for demon's souls or god of war Ragnarok and the next month or so they release that on the pc . Why buy a console if there are no good exclusives?
