Built these with 3/4 plywood , painted everything with tremclad oil base black for extra protection , used black auto carpet for inside and outside drawers , found some RBP badges which I though would look nice and I set them into the drawer fronts , I used RFID card locks for the latches , I ran 4 gauge wiring from the main battery with a 200 amp battery isolator and used two 100 amp Inline fuses /resettable type , to a deep cycle battery In the rear of the truck , which then crosses under to the drivers side and drilled up to a 1500 watt power inverter I just grounded both the inverter and deep cycle to the chassis , if you have any questions on the build , feel free to ask ! Thanks for watching .

@@jorylemottee6668 You did an absolutely amazing job! I spent the past 3 weeks collecting supplies to build a set for my new Ranger. The carpeting was almost impossible to find locally. I'll start building it this weekend. I have watched many videos on bed drawers Jory, and you inspired me to get motivated to build a set. I live in Nova Scotia, and yes, lumber is NUTS. $62.99 for a sheet of 3/4" ply.!! $10 for a 8' 2x4. can you believe that! Where are you from? I have 1 question that is really burning me up. Near teh end, you mentioned that you blew a bearing, and you had to use angle iron? Can you please explain a little better what happened, and what you did to make sure it doesn't happen again please. I'm just not sure where you put it, and how it managed to blow a bearing. Thanks again! You did an amazing job! Oh ya.. where di dyou get them handles? I can not find them locally anywhere. 3 weeks to have them delivered lol I love NS but stuff takes forever to get here.

Hey @@grashoper107 I’m in Vancouver bc , and it sounds like it’s even more expensive there ! That’s nuts , the handles are on amazon and they are awesome ! How much spacing did you use on the bearings to hold all the weight? I’m thinking of doing something similar with my 2011.
@jorylemottee6668

About 10” apart and then I did 3 close together at the front , and about 12” back I sandwiched the 1” square tubing with angle iron , so when the drawer is fully extended it doesn’t have as much pressure in the front bearings .

Awesome job mate, from Australia and nothing as good as this anywhere around. Just curious how you stopped water from getting in where the hinges are?

What did you use to connect the inverter to a standard 120v plug? I am looking at doing the same thing but I am not sure what the best way to do it is?
@jorylemottee6668

I used a male plug and ran the other end of the wires into a single gang plastic box , and wired it straight to the plug receptacle , hope that helps

Whoa dude...RFID locks??? Crazy bonus points! Is it a physical latch? (I assume it's not a magnetic lock... running juice all the time...)
@jorylemottee6668
@jorylemottee6668 3 года назад
Hey mike , they just run off 2 AA batteries , they’re not very heavy duty , just something to keep the drawers latched , I rely on the tailgate lock for security, the latch releases electronically after the card is presented and resets on its own allowing the drawer to close even when it’s in locked position. Thanks for watching Mike !

Hey man these are the best truck drawers on RU-vid! I’m curious about some of the parts and methods? Where did you source the black diamond plate? The hatch hinges? The rfid locks? The divider slots? How did you upholster the drawer fronts? And how did you lock the whole thing down? Is it three separate parts? TIA. Super dope. Bravo sir!
@jorylemottee6668
@jorylemottee6668 3 года назад
This you Dylan , means a lot ! , the black diamond plate is actually a 1/4” thick rubber matting which I got at princess auto in Canada , the hatch hinges are from Home Depot which are piano hinges that you can just cut to length , the rfid locks are on Amazon if you type in rfid cabinet locks , the divers are 1/4” smooth plywood just cut and painted and I used some black U channel which is from Home Depot as well it’s part of some fence panel inserts , the carpet I used is just auto carpet from Canadian tire , most auto carpet would work , it’s basically the same stuff you would wrap a speaker box in , that I used 3m spray glue , let it tack up then adhere , as far as locking it down the best one is I left the plastic liner in , and if you look at my first video there is 4 square cut outs from the factory in the liner , I made 4 squares in those exact locations so the box literally sits in there with the weight , in that video you’ll also see I used turn buckles up towards the cab which holds onto the trucks tie down points . Hope that helps , if you have any more questions feel free to ask , thanks for watching ! -Jory

Can you roughly break down the cost for this build? I see that it was 1500, but w/o some of the extras I was just wondering what the build would be
