When these women go into this, they need to guard their heart, knowing this is a "game". I would never grovel and keep saying "I love you and can't imagine my life without you". Just tell the guy that you enjoy being with him, etc. That's enough. It was sad to see Leslie betrayed.

He was “love bombing” her. You are right. Leslie should have made the point his colors had changed, and she no longer viewed him as having integrity. That she said he “blind-sighted” her was the same thing as saying he had no integrity. She said, “I don’t accept your apology”. Leslie did “step into her power”, and so many have rallied around her since all this came out. Leslie is a sensitive person. I really hope some GOOD & HONEST guy comes along soon. I could not believe he said “it’s just better with someone else”. But I think you’re wrong to assume he was talking about sex. It’s better financially with someone else. This guy is a cad, period. You don’t know Leslie had sex with him. You just don’t. And, Leslie is so much better off without this jerk. And Theresa got her trophy.

The fact is that there is only one person whose heart will not be broken on this show. Everyone else suffers varying degrees of heartbreak. 💔

First time watching as I stumbled over your page and what a great surprise..... It's hard to believe that you are both well into your 60s because you girls look 20 years younger than that.... I'm 64. Gerry didn't seem authentic to me but the show made me want to date again. I have similar past to Leslie & could see some red flags that I used to have. I think Leslie dodged a bullet & feel bad for what happened. I do think Leslie will thrive and is thriving now! We bounce back pretty good.

This Golden Bachelor is the exact type of men that are out there in the dating pool. Liars, men that make women believe they love them but who are looking for a woman who is successful or has money so they can help take care of them instead of them being a true honest, loving strong man who takes pride of being a provider, protector and a man who a woman can truly rely on. He changed his mind right away when he realized she has a successful career. He lied to Faith in front her entire family and also lied to Leslie. I wouldn’t trust this guy as far as I could spit. Don’t like the guy, he’s a total Farce. A man who truly loved his wife would not be dating a new woman a month after his wife died. Everything is off . They painted a totally different picture than what he truly is.

"She (Theresa) does look like she had a facelift so she's taking care of herself." So women who have the confidence to age naturally are not taking care of themselves?

I had a long distance relationship with an old friend who was a widower. And then I stayed with him for 3 months. There is a huge difference between talking on the phone every night and living with someone. I think she is NUTS to marry him without having lived with him.

I disagree that Jerry had sex with these women and that Theresa was better in bed. He started to have a deeper connection with her when she shared with him for the first time what she did for a living-She’s a day trader and she’s very good at it. You could see the look on his face change automatically when she started to go into that aspect of her life. He looked at her in a whole new light.

IMO she probably needed to work for insurance because her late husband had kidney disease which ultimately lead to his death with kidney failure. Years of dialysis and other medical needs with his disease would be very expensive. In my experience, many people with kidney disease are unable to work.

I can see Theresa pulling out a prenup. The girl is financially smart. I am doubtful this “ marriage” will be a lasting one. He was sounding out her words that’s very common with people with hearing aids. It looked odd, but it’s very common, so they can understand what’s being said.

Gerry was mouthing words along with Teresa because he's hard of hearing and that's common among hard of hearing people.

I disagree your interpretation of what Gary meant. He meant that a relationship felt better with Theresa then her. Leslie was way too needy.

I think the biggest mistake anyone can make is to put a lot of stock into people’s words. Talk is cheap, let the actions speak, I learned that after several heartbreaks. Some people don’t mean to hurt you but they just get caught up in the moment, which is what I believe happened with Gerry. When Leslie noticed things were off, it was good that she vocalized it. His actions were off because he no longer felt the same way. He wasn’t lying before because his actions fully matched his words. It’s hard to truly love-bomb someone, if you’re a person with a working conscience, when you don’t believe the words coming out of your mouth. My heart broke for her but each heartbreak should teach you a little something about yourself and how to be a better buyer next time. I absolutely don’t want her to be the golden bachelorette though, she still needs to heal and find some inner confidence.

Yes, I keep saying, why the heck didn’t Leslie say he had no integrity?! And, did you notice that the granddaughters preferred Leslie but they didn’t show the follow up with Gerry and the granddaughters? You both are great! I just happened to binge this whole show recently after a sad loss, and it was great to find your conversation. I agree with everything you’ve said (so far). This whole show was so gripping! It's very hard to trust once you've been misled by a person who appears to be honest and sincere. Leslie said early on that she had been "cheated on a lot" over the years. He clearly changed once T let him know she was financially comfortable... A comment I read in Instagram: someone who knew the late wife's hairdresser said she would cry over his "affairs" He would say he couldn't help it because he was so good looking"? Is this true? Only the hairdresser knows for sure...

Wow, he never said Theresa was better in bed, he said its better with someone else ( meaning the relationship). What a way to twist things. Theresa wasn't manipulative. Y'all are mean girls.

Here's what I want for these women. I want them to realize they do not NEED a man to live a full, rich life. It may be a "wanna have" but it's not a "gotta have". I also want them to ask themselves "What does this guy offer ME?" instead of "Oh please pick me!". Granted it's taken me years to get here but I finally have figured this out. I was widowed in 2009 at a young age with young kids and I thought my life was over. I went on countless dates, got engaged and called it off. Best decision I've made in the last several years. I love my life with or without a significant other. These women are all lovely, smart, lovable people and it saddens me to see them feeling like losers because they didn't "win" this Gerry guy. They are not running out of time or men. I wish they could see that.

I agree - I really thought he was a good person at first but I also felt something was off with him throughout. He clearly didn't seem to get the emotional impact of his behavior and choices on others at times. I do agree he seemed to finally have picked Theresa to some degree because she was better in bed. Yes I agree they "deserve each other". It was a gift to the other women that they were not his pick. The show tried to craft a story but by the end there were things that just didn't make sense. Will be interested to see who will be a pick next for the show?

There’s also the fact that Gerry is a bit older than Leslie and it might’ve been too much work for him to keep her happy and entertained as he ages whereas Theresa will take everything off his plate. She will handle everything, she will make all the plans, she will handle the finances and he’ll coast all the way to his very old age.

Theresa said on the Couric interview that they had not planned on such a quick timeline but THEN, the opportunity for a free wedding and honeymoon! I think Gerry is trying to lock her and her money in ASAP.

I just watched your content on The Golden Bachelor Finale. You touched on so many interesting things said by all Involved. The one thing that I burst out laughing about was his ventriloquist act with Theresa. That's the first thing I thought of last night when his mouth was moving and she was doing the talking. That might happen quite often in that marriage.😂 By the way, I am in my Golden Years and so is my husband...57 years of wedded bliss.😂 I look forward to watching you again. Being a nice looking man, Gerry is a peacock; these men generally pick a woman who is not as attractive as they are. I feel this had part of his reasons for choosing Theresa. She was definitely one of the least attractive of all the beautiful women Gerry had to choose from. The biggest draw was her money!!

Look, he reminds me of my ex- who wanted to push up our wedding date just like Gerry who wants to get married quickly January 4th. My ex- was hiding something. Lesson, don’t ever rush into marriage. Take a good year first. So, this is ridiculous, as they don’t really know each other. I’m sure he doesn’t want a pre-nuptial, but her family may now be pressuring her to get a Detective after this article and revelation of his lying came out. Yes, T was a manipulator totally. I had the understanding that Theresa's husband was very ill (possibly in hospice care at some point) when he asked her to get a job for insurance benefits. He may not have been working full time at this point and the husband was too young for Medicare. ?????

Sorry, but these hosts are not getting it. When you retire, you pick up odd jobs that don't require heavy commitments AND what's so wrong with odd jobs. There's no reason this should be an issue. Secondly, when your spouse dies after decades of companionship, you get lonely, and your first reaction is to fil that void; not to mention you could really use more people to keep you busy from your thoughts and just genera taking/therapy. Sorry, I can't subscribe to this judgmental channel.

Re Gerry’s apology, Leslie didn’t forgive him. She said, “I don’t accept your apology but I understand it.” As for his mouth movements… that’s common for people hard of hearing to keep up with conversation. I think his portrayal in the article regarding his previous jobs was unfair. The Bachelor is notorious for tweaking employment titles to make people appear more glamorous. Gerry did own a restaurant, so there is truth to that. I recall him casually mentioning this but not being grandiose. We don’t see on screen a convo abt maintenance work but doesn’t mean he didn’t. Theresa’s employment didn’t even come up in conversation until Fantasy suites. Who’d have guessed a day trader! This show is heavily produced and edited (moreso w/ hour/episode) and this deception is only presumptive. I also feel the article paints blue collar jobs as lesser than, which isn’t a good look. People are accusing Gerry of being a gold digger and are convinced that’s why he chose Theresa, however Leslie bought a $60k dress and no wedding was even planned. Per article, he asked “Carolyn” to pay some living expenses but there is a vast difference bet frugality and gold digging. Who’s to say he didn’t receive a life insurance payout? And don’t most women prefer not relying on men for money? I agree Gerry professing love to several women was wrong. You’d think at 72 he’d be more cognizant than 20 something leads. However, Gerry really doesn’t have much experience since he married his high school sweetheart. Most folks have numerous relationships before settling down and he simply didn’t. It’s not an excuse but shows a serious lack of experience. I hate that this one sided version of the story has tarnished a 72 year old man’s reputation when he didn’t even get to address the allegations. Many are calling him a cheater when that wasn’t even alluded to. Yes, dating one month after being widowed seems totally bananas but people respond to grief in unexpected ways. I certainly don’t think he just brushed his wife under the rug and don’t sense any resentment from his kids. Many of his actions and apologies were cringeworthy but I don’t think he’s the horrible person people are repainting him to be. And Theresa certainly doesn’t deserve to be catching flack from anyone. She seems to authentically be herself and I never heard her say an ugly thing about anyone. If people don’t care for her personality then zip it. It’s insane that people are bashing two senior citizens.

Regarding his lips moving, people who are hard of hearing do that to further understand what the other person was saying.

Theresa was giddy about him from the minute she met him. With that cupcake thing, he didn’t even have the words out of his mouth and she interrupted him to say YES. She had just met the man!

Gerry's lake house is worth $600,000 - $650,000. In Indiana this would be a really nice house, not a mansion yet much higher than the median price.

LOL😂 My husband and I could not figure out why Gerry was moving his mouth like that when Theresa was talking. We were screaming "What is going on?!" It almost seemed like he was mouthing out her "lines." (Edit: some of the comments explained that this is due to his hearing loss so I definitely feel bad for making light of it, but, I will leave it up so anyone else who was curious can learn something from the comments like I did)

I'm sorry, but if Gerry DID tell Caroline he wasn't taking her to his high school reunion "looking like that" he is NOT a nice person. I pegged him from the start as a cheater. Could be wrong, but I doubt it. I've been a widow for ten years now (I'm 70), after being married for 40 years, and I have to say that I've been quite happpy living my life on my own, spending time with my five children and their families, and my good women friends. Would I like to know that someone out there thinks I'm amazing and would love to be with me? Sure. I think almost everyone wants to be the most important person to someone, but I could only be with someone I found amazing, and at this age, the pool is getting pretty shallow. 😜 I'm okay with being alone for the rest of my life, and most of my friends who are single feel the same.

Respectfully if her husband was dying from kidney failure, him asking her to go to work to help cover medical bills seems very reasonable - how do you know what kind of medical condition he was in at that stage? I feel like that’s a very presumptuous statement against someone’s dead husband to say how dare he ask her to work when he’s retired… maybe they wanted to keep him alive?? I’m also not sure whether you’ve experienced the costs of medical bills like that before and why insurance would really make a massive difference but it just came across very inconsiderate, I’m sure that wasn’t your intention

I thought Faith at 60 would have really made a mistake marrying him at 72. He’d be 80 and she’d still be in her 60s. Just thinking health-wise.

He was recently interviewed by Kaity Currick where she put all those allegations to him and I think he answered it like a politician however he explained the employment situation that he had done a number of jobs since retiring and the major one was being a restauranteur.... Regarding the allegations with the dating after the death of his partner he didn't directly respond but Theresa had asked all the questions and she was very satisfied that he was still a good guy with integrity...

I think he was over presented as this rare great goodie goodie fella that never did anything wrong in his life... and like every other human his got a dark side too. Im a Good man myself but i found all the compliments everyone was saying to him on the show odd.

Leslie has sad energy. She’s got it in her head/ spirit that she’s going to lose no matter what and you can feel it, even through the tv set. She would bring drama and heaviness. I’m not sure about Gerry now but I do think he made the right choice.

Theresa married her high school sweetheart for over 40 years....and she says she's never dated anyone else after he died. She knows only one man and hasn't had to deal with any epic mind fu**ery or toxicity from men. Whereas Leslie has been divorced twice and has dated a whoooooole load of men, and we all know what happens to people who lose their trust in men or have insecurities. As much as i feel sorry for Leslie, Gerry picked the right person because she has more baggage than American express......And i can bet with my last penny that it wouldnt have worked out with her and Gerry anyway. They wont be compatible off cameras. Theresa is a "good replacement" for his late wife because she also knew only Gerry in her life too. Everything will make sense to Leslie later for him not picking her.......but she's not going to heal in a hurry.....this could take even a couple years, the rejection was deep, especially on national television too. Ouch, it hurts...and i wish her a speedy recovery!

Teresa is the cutest pixie fairy. I think they are adorable together! Maybe the fact that Leslie was married twice was a red flag to him. I don't understand how she is saying she has never been in love when she has been married. You marry someone when u love them. Just think she never addressed some of her red flags, that he wanted her to open up and discuss.

I think Gerry and Theresa make a great couple. I think this process worked well for them. Gerry did amazing in managing his feelings and working thru the challenges of multiple options. Clearly, the process isn't without someone being hurt, but Leslie was way too risky. She needs to take time to nurture herself before finding true love. She needs to vent to a therapist before weighing down a relationship with the burdens of her being rejected. Choose yourself before looking to be chosen.
