I work on toshiba drives all the time. Pull it out of the box. Just the six wires ribbon cable four screws. Lay on a table and you will be able to see everything you need clean that heat sink good too.
I have a few accounts where I installed axial fans to pull heat from the cabinets. Grainger sells them with a stainless guard for around $100. Keeps those drives happy
On those sleeve bearing fans, use a light grease (super lube) on them and they should live for another 5-10 years. Ball bearing jobs, forget it, just replace them. Don't forget to slap some electrical tape on the holes.
@@subcoolHVAC If it came down to a bar fight on the fans, head to the local computer repair shop. They got a wide variety of fans, both new and used. But if they are in the 120 volt range, forget it. That's special order.
Good question, That’s the gas tank I have available on my truck for purging, blowing out drains, etc. Compressed air could be used if available. Thanks
Dam I thought those were just disposable unserviceable junk ! I'll try and fix 'em next time one fails , do you think i could use " universal " grease or did you use a specific kind ? Cheers mate 👍
