Bluth could of been the next Disney, thanks to him though, we got Disney to push boundaries and jump out of their comfort zone. Thanks to Bluth's competitive underdog spirit we got the renaissance.

Bluth is a true artist. It's funny how similar he was starting out, to Walt.

Unfortunately, one of the reasons he failed was he didn't have a Roy Disney to be a good financial adviser and money man.

7:40, that unique glitter effect I see in every single Don Bluth movie (usually done in orange/brass and of higher, clearer quality. For example, the sparkle affect on Princess Daphne and the sparkle on the shooting diamond stars in All Dogs go to Heaven.)... How the holy fuck do they do that? It's beautiful.

Spielberg and Bluth should have started their collaboration with a short film starring who was then Universal's star cartoon character (like Mickey Mouse is to Disney and Bugs Bunny is to WB). That character? Woody Woodpecker. It would have been really cool to see Dom DeLuise and Phillip Glasser (the voice of Fievel) play Woody's enemies Buzz Buzzard and Andy Panda respectively, not to mention a stroke of pure genius. It especially would have been cool to see it released with Back to the Future in 1985 and spark interest in seeing An American Tail.

A Directing Animator is the main animator behind certain characters and/or scenes. (Ex. Glen Keane was in charge of The Beast) The Animation Director is just a regular director, only focusing on animated sequences. (Ex. While Bob Zemeckis focused on the live-action in Roger Rabbit, Richard Williams focused on the animation)

You know the N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing always reminded me of Don Bluth's films, from the atmosphere right down to the story in the instruction booklet that has more lore than the game even needed to have but that I still appreciated anyway. You know one day I'd like to see Don Bluth and whoever is still with him draw the entire N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing's cast in their art style as since Diddy Kong Racing for the N64 reminds me of his films I'd love to see an interpretation of it in the style of the films it reminds me of, not to mention Don Bluth is no stranger to working with video games as evidenced by Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.

It's really fucking stupid how RU-vid, or whatever company, would take this down. What's wrong with educating people on the history of a film maker? What's wrong with giving credit to a film that deserves credit? It's not like you're uploading entire films of the movies.

jacoblgames It counts as fair use if the changes made to the source material qualify to give it a different meaning. For example, an upload of a movie simply inverting it and adding a frame around it doesn't count as fair use since it has the same meaning, but a review of said movie using clips from it does constitute fair use because the meaning is no longer the one in the movie but rather the critique of said movie.

Loved everything Don worked on. His contribution to Disney was a great start. Here are my thoughts on the films he was fully recognised for. Pete’s Dragon - Very wholesome and charming, great story, very creative combination of live action and hand drawn animation and Elliott steals the show big time. Small One - Very heartfelt and sweet story and I like how they based it in Bethlehem. Banjo the Woodpile Cat - Very fun, great characters, simple story and I like how Scatman Crothers was casted as another musical cat. Secret of Nimh - Very well-written premise, excellent animation, great characters, great use of fantasy and scientific themes with some heavy and dark moments. An American Tail - Very cute and memorable movie, great setting and concept and I like how they incorporated the themes on emigration from Russia to America.

I had a dream the other night that I can only describe as a Don Bluth Avengers, where like all these Don Bluth characters assembled - like if Mrs. Brisby, Fievel, Charlie B. Barker, Bartok, and even those penguins got together. Not sure if it's a trippy-weird idea or awesome.

Jim Belushi and Martin Short's characters from *Pebble and the Penguin*. Isn't that funny - I don't remember their names but I remember the actors who voiced them.

Its such a chad level Massive Flex toward disney when you realize Bluths 1st big project was making a film adaptation of a dark fantasy novel when disney completely failed to do the same thing.

Don Bluth’s movies traumatized me as a child. No, I don’t care if that makes me a weakass kid. Yes, I *AM* aware that preferring the Land Before Time sequels over the original as a child makes me a philistine.

I personally don't think Wham-O would have had much of a chance in court, given that they apparently never tried to go after the book.

InvaderPet I admittedly got a kick out of that visual representation of the problem (basically that image of a frisbee disk adorned with the cape and amulet), so much so that I easily thought of that point in this lookback when I see that trivia bit shown at the beginning of my digital copy of the film that I ordered off of Amazon Prime.

I'm writing a biopic for Don Bluth over his glory years (I think up to Land before time) that I'm going to present to PBS for a special this summer. Would any of you like to see the draft that I have written so far

Wait, Don Bluth was Mormon? This now makes so much sense since I have a series of videos from an ex Disney animator that pretty much animated the stories in both the Bible AND Book of Morman

I know this is an old video but I just want to let you know that it is common in films for the employees to sign 'none disclosure agreements.' It's usually in your contract that you won't tell anyone about the details of the film during and after production.
