I have this book, bought it last year. It should be required in every ministerial library. I’m going to read it again because of so much information it’s hard to grasp in one setting!

I learned a lot of religious and secular history from this podcast; I plan to listen to it a second time and also purchase the book because there was so much info. It's obvious that Bro. Gill really immersed himself into this research; it just flows from him. I'm a lover of history and always become curious as to what was attempting to be destroyed when someone goes to the extent of burning someone and their works as was done to the individual you talked about. If any of the manuscripts did survive, I wonder if they were possibly taken to Timbuktu which was a center of Islamic scholarship under several African empires between the 13th and 16th centuries; people went there to study during that time period like people come to America from other countries today to study.
The doctrine of the trinity was also a way for Rome to survive through Roman Catholic church. Its a ton of Pantheon replication that goes back to Sumerian you can see the attempt to tie Thammuz to Christ, El to Father God, Lil to Holy Spirit. This is an old war we are fighting.

Wow, this was fantastic. Brother Gill’s research is indeed a breath of fresh air. Going back and reading source documents reveals the beautiful simplicity and clarity of what we have always believed and known from scripture. I can’t wait to read the book!

Ordered a copy of the book. I thought it was going to be the same thing as several others that I have read, but you hit on a question I have always had. What is the missing link between the apostles and Justin? How did they get there. I know philosophy is the general answer, but what are the specifics. Seems like your book is providing that missing link. Can't wait to read it.
I would say your “missing link” is Philo of Alexandria, the famous Hellenized Jew who was alive at the time of the Apostle Paul. You can trace the line from Philo to Justin to Irenaeus to Tertullian to Origen to the Arian Controversy.

The 1st thing that needs to be understood and is foundational to rejecting trinitarianism is that it's the doctrine of demons and not the doctrine of God. Even if one simply accepts the doctrine of one God but doesn't seek God to reinforce his doctrine, then when those demons try and implant that seed of the trinity, you may be swayed by that false doctrine. The devil doesn't mind if people debate and have issues over faith, works etc. It's only when the trinity doctrine is touched or overthrown and baptism is in the name of Jesus that they get furious.
Never stops to amaze me the gullibility of people who want to believe something they cannot find in the Bible so they twist history which is not scripture and lead those ignorant of truth down the same deception they themselves have sold out to.

We read the bible, and it says there is only 1 God. We see that there is someone named the Father who claims to be the creator of everything. We also see someone named Jesus who claims to be the creator of all things. And we see the Holy Spirit who is also the creator of all things. How do we get around this? God must be a Trinity. It's like looking up to the sky on a clear noon and seeing the sun. That is how clear it is in the bible that God is a Trinity.

I can just read the Bible and God through Jesus Christ taught me that the Trinity is false and part of Babylon the great or false religion. Truth about it is both in the scriptures and in history how the false doctrine of the Trinity came into existence. Good work. I even found out that all things were given to Jesus from his father even his divinity. I think false religion says to worship Jesus would be an idol if he was not God. We do worship the father but the Father gave us to Christ he also told the angels to come and worship him. Jesus also said about the those who claim to be Christian, but are not Jesus said they would come and worship at their feet.

For me, to make the understanding of trinity and oneness easier to understand, try to use a ventriloquist doing his act (watch it carefully on youtube especially the professional ones), then imagine God the Father as the ventriloquist but since God is Spirit then you can't see the "ventriloquist" and He is omnipresence, now the doll could represents Jesus. So now what Jesus saying about The Father make sense and easier to understand, e.g. who has seen Me has seen the Father, The Father is greater than I, etc including when Jesus was baptized a sound from heaven said this is my Son... and Paul writing that "The Son is the image of the invisible God". Now, the act of a ventriloquist when watched by a children under 5 years old he/she could be thinking that it has 2 persons (more if the ventriloquist has more than 1 doll) but to an adult it is just 1 person.
Actually I am pretty sure this is the wrong way to see it. Some oneness subscribe to this God the father in a meat suit theology. But the major issue is it destroys the idea of Jesus as our kinsmen and redeemer. Jesus had to be an authentic human being with a human soul and will. Not simply a meat vehicle. Anything otherwise means he couldn't be a sufficient sacrifice for our sins.

From a human perspective the identity of Jesus being both the Father and the Son, makes it appear that He was a ventriloquist. But was Jesus really one? Is it possible at all that Jesus can be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, without acting as a ventriloquist?
@@dgreenja I'm not saying He is actually a "ventriloquist", as He is God Almighty, He can exists at the same time at different places. My bases for that thinking was an old pop song in my birth country with a title "the world is a drama's stage". So I believe that God Almighty can be in the world as the Son of man and at the same He is still God the Father in the whole universe. Of course when He was in the world He could not reveal Himself as God openly since He can easily did that. E.g. by calling His angels to come down to earth to prove that, etc. As His mission was as a Saviour. JESUS blesses you.

The Jewish community as a whole, rejects the concept of the oneness of God being that of a compound unity. If the general Jewish community is wrong, then at what point did Israel go wrong in having a misconception of who the one God is?
Let’s be biblically and historically clear, there is a TOTAL difference between the teachings and beliefs of the original Apostolic era from what oneness try to call themselves as apostolic. I never knew anything about the history of the truth of Trinity, no idea of all these 1st and 2nd centuries historians who set under the original Apostles who claim they baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, because of Jesus Christ as savior. I only understood the truth of the Trinity based on every single book of the New Testament that declares that truth. When I began to hear the Oneness theories I could not believe a person could know Jesus, be baptized in the Holy Spirit and pray in Tongues, submitted to the truth and validity of the word of God, the Bible. I was taken back how you could actually believe in such fleshly or even demonic influence that Jesus the Son is not God of eternity as well as human. The word of God over and over declares Jesus talking to His Father and Jesus says He shared in His glory, Jesus said He AND the Father would send back ANOTHER advocate. Jesus is our advocate with the Father in heaven ACCORDING to the Bible and Jesus told us the Holy Spirit is our advocate on this earth as Christians. All this BABBLE about so called history according to Oneness is such a waste of time and Godly intellect. Read your Bible. And bottom line, the Didache, 1 Clement, Epistle of Barnabas, letters of Ignatius and I can name ten other accepted writings that reveal what was being taught about baptizing in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the FIRST and SECOND century long before the Council of Nicaea. And MOST of these people SAT under the Apostles teachings…they should KNOW what they were taught, whether or not they were the PERFECT Christian. This guy is a LIAR that Trinitarian thought has its roots in Greek thought….? When your doctrine can easily be proven FALSE as the oneness THOUGHTS are with the Bible, I guess you must seek out other ways to preach to YOUR Choir! It is a shame to lie like this. You remind me of those who are unbelievers who do not want the truth: they say, you prove to me their is a God. So on your playing field find just “one” scripture where Jesus plainly says “I am the Father” or “I am the Holy Spirit”, and then get back with me. And please remember scripture interprets scripture meaning what is said is usually in its context if interpreted correctly, not the context of a mans doctrine. My question would be when Jesus said He had ALL Power in Heaven and in earth wouldn't that make Him God? Because if He has ALL power there can't be anybody like Him.
@MrJimgogo No sir. The bible says all power was given to Jesus by his Father, God. The only one Jesus doesn't have power over is God, his Father. John 3:35, Matthew 28:18, and read the whole 2nd half of 1 Corinthians chapter 15.

You only have to go to the first chapter of the year to see the trinity. In the beginning God, (Elohim plural) created. V26. God Elohim plural said Let US plural make man in OUR plural image after OUR plural likeness. So now you know that God reveals Himself as One being manifest in THREE persons.

I don't believe I said that it "is" the driving force behind the doctrine of the trinity. Merely one of its contributing factors. Furthermore, I took this idea from Tertullian, I did not make it up myself. It was Tertullian - the first man in history to use the word "trinity" who wrote the tract entitled, "Against the Jews."
While the vocabulary used to describe the Trinity required some time to develop, this extended time frame is not born from a lack of Trinitarian conviction. The early church lacked a conceptual basis upon which to give full disclosure concerning the triune God’s substantive hierarchy. Plainly speaking, “Neither Jewish theology nor Greek philosophy provided the conceptual frameworks, much less the right words, needed to express what the church fathers were seeing in the Bible’s witness of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”
TRINITARIANS believe in ONE GOD THREE PERSONS or TRINITY of PERSONS. Oneness believe in ONE GOD THREE modes/manifestations or TRINITY of modes. Oneness are TRINITARIANS, the Trinity is inevitable!
Trinitarians believe that “God the Son” was manifest in the flesh. The second person incarnate. Oneness believes that “God” was manifest in the flesh. The fullness of the godhead bodily - not one person of the trinity. Trinitarians believe the third person of the trinity - God the Holy Spirit - (who is neither the Father nor the Son) dwells inside the believer. Oneness believes Ephesians 4 - that the Father who is above all dwells in us all. Oneness believes Romans 8 which says Christ is in us, not the third person of the trinity. Trinitarians believe in 2 Spiritual persons - God the Father and God the Spirit. Oneness believes there is one body and one Spirit, even as we are called in one hope of our calling. @Steven Gill Steven, what you are saying is that the Father didn't sent the Son. It was the FATHER in disguise. Just send me the verse that says the Father sent Himself and become flesh? Believe me I grasped what your are saying and I know more about your doctrine than you do! The Sonship of Jesus is for trinitarians and aspect of his divinity but, for oneness it is only an aspect of his humanity. In other words Jesus is God in spite of the sonship and not because of the sonship.The Son is the flesh or humanity. In short, the Son is, not God, but the man in whom God was incarnated, the man in whom God dwelled. The Son is "the permanent body" or supposedly the One God "who is the Father". "God became a man" For oneness the Sonship is a term to identify a result ot two natures fused through the virgin birth. So the sonship does not exist as such apart from the incarnation of the FATHER. In other words the Son didn't become flesh. Second, also you basically said that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are theophanies of God, and this seems to say Christ is probably "the last," "permanent" and "completely" theophany of the "One God who is the Father." In contrast to the temporary theophanies of the Old Testament. Steven, it doesn't matter how much you want to hide or disguise this fact. You will not be able to establish it because that is not the message of the Bible. That's just your denomination's interpretation. No other denomination, not Catholics, Presbyterians, Baptists, Assembly of God and many other Pentecostals and Evangelicals, not even Jehovah's Witnesses believe in your supposed oneness doctrine. I can appreciate what your saying. I only quoted Scripture to you though. The doctrine of the trinity teaches that “God the Son” is the co-equal and co-eternal person of God with God the Father. This is an unbiblical phrase. Jesus is always called the Son of God. He is never called God the Son. I agree with you - when we speak of sonship, we are talking about the humanity. Jesus Christ - the man. So of course I believe the Father sent the Son. But I do not believe in two divine persons. I believe that Jesus is the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. God is not the holy three - He is the Holy One.

Steven, while oneness believers reject the doctrine of the Trinity or God the Son or the Son is God, they nevertheless accept the doctrine of Dual Nature. Is it logical to reject the idea that God is a Trinity of Persons, and yet maintain the key doctrine wich supports that idea? Of course not. Steven, does the Bible explicitly teach anywhere that Jesus was comprised of two natures? No, it does not. It must be inferred from the text in the same manner that the Trinity or God the Son is inferred from the text by many. Oneness criticizes Trinitarians for building a doctrine out of proof texts, rather than hearing the whole, clear counsel of God, while on the other hand they are doing the exact same thing with respect to the regarding Dual Nature. Oneness are being hypocritical without even realizing it, holding Trinitarians to a higher standard than they are holding themselves to.
@Steven Gill Steven, the problem is that the bible mentions the FATHER is God, the SON is God and the HOLY SPIRIT is God but, for oneness the last two basically do not exist nor do they have relevance. Why do I say this? Because for you guys there is only the FATHER and He supposedly is Jesus. Oneness believe that the word Father is a TITLE so why the Son and Holy Spirit if they are TITLES aren't God too? Even if you believe that the FATHER is a mode/manifestation, a sphere, TITLE, Person or a representation and is God, then the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT even if they are modes/manifestations, spheres, titles, Persons or representations are God too. If you believe the FATHER is God, also the SON must be God and the HOLY SPIRIT is God. Why does the word God applies only to the FATHER but doesn't apply to the SON or HOLY SPIRIT? We Trinitarians believe in ONE GOD and what is taught by the whole Bible and Jesus, we do not deny that God is ONE but neither do we deny that the FATHER is God, the SON is God and the HOLY SPIRIT is God as oneness do.
