Build something yourself and you will understand. They often putting hundreds if not millions of $ into those restaurants. Spending there 10's of hours every week without holidays and breaks. They don't have bosses or anyone they have to listen to, now they are the bosses. And out of sudden there is some guy coming to their world and telling them that all they done was stupid, pointless and they are delusional. It's not easy pill to swallow at first especially when you have cameras and your own team provoking you to defend yourself. I was analyzing this show more than I would like to admit, and it is done in really smart way. Gordon shouting at those people, smelling and throwing around broken food, those breaks over the night after he makes a drama. This all has it's own purpose.

@@devilanty4430 i agree with you. apart from being it's a TV show (which obviously scripted, but tbh idk how far the script is going so i can't really comment on it), also with all due respect without any means of being racist, maybe other factor was the environment as well. As an asian i grew up in a very tough family, neighborhood, and friends. If i did make a mistake, dirty words just fly out everywhere no matter how small the mistake is. When im saying something stupid, they will say it out loud in front of me that im stupid. no filter or pampering words whatsoever. If i try to talk back, it will get worse and much worse. So all i can do is just swallow it, reflect on it, get better at it, and move on. Right now im watching literally every episode of Gordon's famous trash talk, and I just laugh my ass off. The problem with the denials of the owner is mostly cz of pride, and they're not used to ppl talking trash to them (again cz of the pride). Sometimes, it's very good to just shut up, listen (even if it hurts as hell), and reflect on it. If they're right, swallow their words, admit you're wrong, do better next time, and move on.

Who Invented Caesar Salad? The Caesar salad is often believed to have been created by Julius Caesar himself. But it wasn’t. Caesar salad was invented in the early 1920s by Caesar Cardini, an Italian chef who owned a restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico. He moved to Tijuana from California to avoid Prohibition, and it was here, on July 4th, 1924, where Caesar is believed to have invented the Caesar Salad. According to his daughter, Rose Cardini, the restaurant was overrun with American customers. Short on ingredients in the kitchen, her father assembled what was left: lettuce stalks, olive oil, raw egg, croutons, parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Originally intended as finger food, the original Caesar salad recipe called for whole lettuce leaves, which were to be dipped in the dressing and then eaten with the fingers. It was a hit. Cardini's salad became so popular that it was soon being served in restaurants all over the world. Today, it is one of the most popular salads in America.

I think it was Mongolians that made chopped mutton patties and placed them under their horses saddle before a long trip, where they would some how get cooked via the heat from the horse or the pressure or something. They brought this to Prussia, and then eventually that became the (salisbury) hamburg steak, which then was brought to the USA where some guy from Denmark stuck it between bread. I haven't heard burgers called Mongolian or Danish cuisine though.

6:58 what really gets me is how he says “it’s a grilled lettuce, you can’t go wrong.” As if in his mind, grilled lettuce is one of those well known, staple dishes that everyone knows and enjoys like Mac n cheese or ramen or something...

Just because of this, I'm gonna open a restaurant and the chef's recommendation will be Microwaved salad, using previously grilled lettuce, with pieces of fresh frozen out of the can crab. And of course, to make it perfect, flakes of Carolina Reaper. Jorge thinks he can make salad extra spicy? I'll make it inedible.

Amazing how almost every kitchen Ramsey walks into has a chef in the kitchen who would do better than the head chef.

For all of Richard's utter incompetence in the very beginning, I gotta admit I do like him. He has a very positive, upbeat attitude and he doesn't make excuses for being totally clueless. He isn't in complete denial like his business partner. That guy is a complete joke.

I appreciate the head chef's mature response to the employees. He apologized and said things will change. That was a good start for things to be better.
