duuuuuuuudeeeee I think a lot of people are going to resonate with this naturally, since a lot of people in society "mirror" (especially those with Fe), but the kind of mirroring you're referring to isn't something you can really understand unless you are an INFJ... and I know exactly what you mean... and to be honest, it's a great tool - but it really does eat at you over time not having or promoting your own identity :(

I had an INFJ boyfriend, we were together till last year and because of the covid, he don't know when he's going to see me again and that's hurt him. He get so depressed and finally broken up with me. As an ENTP, I think he is a bit overly sensitive in a way but I also understand why so I let him be. About the topic that you're talking about I think INFJ personality is amazing, I don't want him to change anything so the best way I can do is let him be in his own world and hoping one day he will realize that I am still here. I don't wanna give up on this deep amazing connections with him, but I'm not sure about how he feels right now. maaan I am so impatient by ENTP nature but for INFJ I don't why I can do this.

lol, the first thing I did when I got my flipping concept was looking for criminals. Well, look at crime and the human soul and know that no one understands it and well, if you overdo it with the mirroring it gets really tight for you.

As an infj who with age has developed sense of self, my feelings, who I am, my boundaries etc I can rely to mirroring I'm during my early Years, I didn’t do it consciously but bc no control over my empathety tbh, so i was constantly tuning into other ppl energy to empathize with their energy and to maintain harmony. I think early on i was too afraid to shake things out and break this sense of harmony. But Now at my 38 years old, I am still empathetic, but I have I way more defined idea of who I am, my boundaries, my feelings my values and what it works and benefit me ( or not ) without losing touch infj ppls skills. So look a lot as a extroverted, empathetic intj lol
