@@OldieProductions no problem! I’ve known since I first saw the photo that there is no way this is arson. Pay special attention to how the fire was contained to the engine compartment, this means someone saw it ignite and called 911 right away. Had it been unchecked as an arson in this case scenario would be, that car would’ve been fully involved by the time the fire department showed up.

I’ve had my car vandalised and they set my car on fire and they threw something under my car that was covered in gasoline and it burnt my front half of my car

@@OldieProductions Mohhamed is right and I'd argue that's the exact reason the car burned down. The ignition system on your car has a relay and it's there for a reason. It's to ensure that all the circuits that control engine/vehicle operations are off when the vehicle isn't in-use. The fact that he added a starter button and wired it DIRECTLY to the starter so that he could start the car is a big issue. The wire leading from your ignition switch to your starter carries 3-5 amps (depending on vehicle) as it's fed by the battery. There's a relay in the wiring between the switch and the starter, which acts as a current multiplier, as well as provide a ground switch (most commonly called a neutral safety switch) for the ignition switch. The job of the relay is to multiply the current and get it to about 250 Amps in order to power the starter. By bypassing this entire portion of the circuit, there's nothing preventing overvolting from occurring nor is there a neutral switch to prevent voltage and current flow from constantly flowing through the ignition system, and now there's the issue of asking a 5 Amp button connected to his starter to supply 250 Amps. And I'm sure he used regular 12-gauge wires and not 8- or 6-gauge wires to handle that current demand. That's like having a huge suction pump connected to a 3/4-inch plastic water pipe. One of 2 things will happen: the pump overworks itself trying to pull water through such a small orifice, or the pipe starts caving inwards under high vacuum. It's the same thing with an electrical circuit. It's either the starter is going to die first or it's going to kill everything else and fry a few wires trying to get the current is demands. Sorry for this being so long but I'm just trying to add some info to the conservation while explaining how this could've happened. It all boiled down to Kevin not knowing that he's doing and probably followed some random dude on the internet that did it. As a technician that's doing my final exams, I IMPLORE YOU ALL NOT TO MAKE THIS SAME MISTAKE OR YOU'LL END UP LIKE THIS, OR WORSE, SOMEONE COULD'VE GOTTEN HURT. DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT. SHORTCUTS WHEN REPAIRING CARS ONLY END BADLY FOR EVERYBODY - BOTH YOU AND THE PERSON WHO IS LEFT TO FIX YOUR MISTAKE.

Don't want burn the car down. You seem to know alot, is it bad to have too many ground wires? Should I have Two ground for battery Engine ground to chassis Engine ground to battery

@@Alex-vz2jz You can never have too many ground wires, you just have to ensure that there aren't any issues with the connections, as well as ensure that you use the right gauge wire for each part of the circuit and keep the wiring on the correct side of the circuit (meaning, ensure that you don't mix the positive leads and negative leads by accident)

@@RiqueRacing awesome, I figured so. I've used 0 gauge wire and used an oem ground cable as a secondary ground as well. I also have had a battery fuse pop on me, so I'm sure missing a ground. Good thing I installed the fuse holder 😅 Thanks for the help, gonna check my wires again and add another ground and check if the wires aren't heating up.

Sounds like his friends may have been quoting the owner himself in a sarcastic way. As if they heard him say that prior to the car burning. It's a very specific way to describe having your car set on fire. Referring to it as being blown up. Was a bomb placed? Did they forget to take the NOS out that night? Most people wouldn't see their car on fire and think someone blew it up.

A vandalizer wants to do the job fast. The guy stated that accelerant was added to the intake. You know what else is accelerant? Gasoline and starter fluid. In addition, the intake is under the hood. No criminal wants to waste time getting into the hood. A vandalism job needs to get done fast and easy. Not hard and slow. The easiest path of least resistant is literally dumping gasoline all over the car and light it. No need to break into a locked engine bay hood. No need to waste time literally shoving some fluids into the intake manifold. It's even more sus that none of the body work is broken or smashed. Why is the wing not broken? or the rest of the body panels. What's even more funny is that he claims there is footage, but has not release it yet. Just all suspicious. Not only that, you build a car to be dangerous on the road. As in no traction, slammed as hell, and has no insurance. I think he deserved it. That car isnt meant to be on the road. @@infesting it will if it shorts... And if the wiring gets hot enough it will eventually catch anything flammable like oil or gas and burn everything down. My personal experience is with old 80s Toyotas so I know what a rats nest of wires melting looks like. Most likely one of his mods shorted (and I'm guessing he didn't use a fuse) and got hot enough to catch fire.

I used to agree, but when your build is a risk to others on the road, it shouldn't be driven on public roads. So I'm glad this car was mainly hauled on a trailer event to event.

he didnt burn it on purpose. It burned itself due to his poor wiring skill and not knowing how electrical flow works. He's too coward to admit his mistake. It doesnt add up at all. In the mindset of a criminal, they want to get the job done and fast. It doesnt make sense to literally spend time, unlocking the hood, and putting in accelerant. Literally the easiest and fastest path would be to just pour gasoline on the body panel and light it. No need to waste time getting into the engine bay. Also added the fact, that his car is not under insurance, which is deemed illegal. The internet could honestly just report him for fraud and land him some jail time. Not the sharpest tool in his family's shed to be honest.

Just remember seeing on my insurance that I could cover aesthetic parts such as paint or aftermarket bumpers. Though I don't stay up to date on this project, but I could have sworn I've seen videos of this car driving on public roads. So it at least needs plates, and in my state (MD) mandatory insurance. They will find you and fine you hard if you don't.
