If they dont offer rental properties that allow for more than one household to rent on the same lot, at the same time, its not needed.🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm super proud of myself for not buying Horse Ranch yet, clearly I'm battling an addiction if I'm proud of it 😵‍💫

I'm hoping this means sims can rent out houses like an Airbnb or be landlords, owning properties and having tenants. Maybe running an apartment building. Maybe some sort of real estate agent involved. This could be good IF it's coming with new jobs, aspirations and gameplay. And I really hope it's another city location.

I love how in the sims 3 in the base game you could buy multiple properties and houses and we still can't In the sims 4 9 years after release. I use the real estate mod too its fantastic.

SimRealist has a mod for this ......why dont they collaborate with them? I would rather they just do a city living/ base game update that allows me to build apartment buildings from scratch like i could do in sims 2

The only thing that would IMO make sense would be the opportunity to build apartments or townhouses. Basically houses that contain apartments, so that multiple households can live on one lot and be played separately. I definitely couldn't see how just becoming a landlord e.g. would be an exciting gameplay, that sounds more like some kind of economical simulation that absolutely doesn't fit into the Sims 4.

I’m exited for the Thai world as I have family in Thailand myself and we need more non American worlds 🙏 As for the gameplay though I don’t understand how it’s a whole expansion based on just rental 😭

Tbf, I pirated horse ranch 😂 But I wish people would stop buying the packs immediately due to up selling to actually teach EA something. Instead they’ll complain while handing EA their money. I need to watch your videos on the landlord mod, but from how you’re describing it, it would be cool if they managed to do something like this. But we all know modders do almost everything better. I’m not sure how this could be an expansion pack? It’s still too early to tell, but I’m very curious. I’d assume this would come with another Asian based world? We had, *very specifically,* northern Japan (Hokkaido) in the winter, so I’d like to see more of other countries, and not just one super specific aspect of a country

Honestly... this is another one of those cases where it should be a Game Pack, not an Expansion. A full on real estate pack? THAT could have been an Expansion. Rentals alone aren't going to cut it, especially if this doesn't allow us to create our own apartments, own multiple houses, or live in destination worlds, which I predict this won't. Plus I'm confused, don't we already have rental lot type's..? Is this essentially a landlord pack? They're milking this year for all it's worth I guess.. but just slapping "Expansion" on something doesn't really make it a true expansion.

I'm hoping it's more like Sims 2 Apartments, so you can build your rentals from scratch & have multiple rentals on a lot.

Wait a minute. House renting system is literally a base game feature lol Outdoor Reatreat, Jungle Adventure, My Nightmarring Stories, Snowy Escape - they all are travel focused packs. We have enought already Ridicuolous

We already have rental lots in most of the newer worlds and ability to make them in base game now. I'm desperate for there to be a way to make these 'rental houses' into hotels!

The mod is fantastic, I doubt EA will be able to top it.

Prediction: we already have vacation rentals, I think it'll be everything you can do with vacation rentals but under a different lot type. Like a dedicated world with those lots on it. You won't be able to make a rental on any lot. It'll be wedding nightmares all over again, with a beautiful world, build, CAS but the silliest and most broken gameplay.

So far every recent pack feels like they copied a modders homework

From a leak i saw floating around, and it should be taken with a grain of salt as it may not be true, but it says that you can rent out the basement, make duplexes, or even your own little apartment. it will be a separate lot type and would be a multi household lot. you can live on it or live on your own lot and rent it out. if its real, im excited. its what i wanted since City Living.

Since we can already rent houses, I am just like what are they changing to make this special?

Sounds like something that should have come from city living but hopefully it'll be useful.

I was really hoping for the ability to use lots for more than one thing. That could mean more than one family living there at the same time (either all rental apartements/houses or for example a family house that also rents out an apartement or smth like that. or like in the Sims 2, that was a fun apartement experience :) ) orrr lots that can have for example a functional library AND a café AND a washing saloon or smth... and also obv the ability to "live in business", meaning apartement above a store or whatever. I feel like those are such basic requests but I am also 100% sure that I will be disappointed...

I wanna make the Landgraabs actually grab up land instead of owning all the retail stores so my own sims don’t have to run clothing shops, grocery stores, malls, etc that I wanna use in casual gameplay. Now they can rent properties!

I think they have a team who figures out which mods are doing well and try to sell that for the game.

They're probably adding an ability to own multiple lots, so you can have "room-mates" renting the homes you don't actively live in. It could add a function to building larger "apartment" lots, but I don't know how well it'll work. The room-mate system with discover university isn't very profitable, they just pay a bit to help with your bills. But then this is a separate pack, they might be re-working that system, or updating it.

I commend you for still recording while ill. When I'm sick I refuse to interact with anything but my bed 😂 sooo glad I wait for videos on bugs before purchasing a new pack. Only thing I pre ordered was high school years and I still needed mods to enhance that. EA should be ashamed.

Not Sure, how about I feel about that. The idea is good and actual kind of new (depending on the content). But I guess that is full of bugs. Still waiting for a point when ts4 is interesting again. At the moment I went back to ts3.

im hoping for a mini open world system. like a imagine at willow creek if everything within the neighborhoods were accessible without having to use a loading screen. i know its far fetched but it would change my gameplay for the better!

I would love a Thailand based world but now im nervous it will be a selvadorada problem where you can only build like rentals and vacation type stuff. Fingers crossed EA realizes people actually LIVE in Thailand and its not just a vacation spot ;-;

If this pack gives me the ability to build semi-detached housing and terraced housing... I'll consider it. It's one of the main things I feel like I'm personally missing from the game, not worth an expansion pack, but maybe on sale 😂

One of the reasons there's no Hotel pack is probably because they'd have to go back to update every individual Sims 4 vacation packs; and we know they won't do that. I fear the content would just be: Click to buy a lot & earn flat weekly income based on % of the property price, A new lot trait that adds "Rental fee" expense to house bills (sits among Power & Water expense), a world, and a grab bag of CAS & BB assets. Off topic: that teaser video doesn't have anything explicitly sticking out to me as specifically Thai lol There are kettle styles that looks beautifully Thai but it's definitely not elephant shaped And I don't think there are cut pieces of white bread served in Pad Thai or any of our stir-fried noodle dishes. Maybe I'm not sufficiently Thai enough despite being a Thai living in Thailand

I’m sorry, what are we getting excited for?? Don’t we already have rental lots? I mean outside of this giving us the ability to make townhomes and apartments, I don’t see how this is different from us being able to own or rent vacation lots. Like what is so hard for EA to understand!? We want hotels, resorts like the fact that my sims basically just go sleep in an Airbnb and have no new vacation like amenities to make it feel like a vacation makes the whole idea of traveling in the game a dumb idea. This is suppose to be a life simulation game and we’re still getting the same old gameplay repackaged and resold to us, but our sims can’t still go on a proper vacation…10 years into the game 😒🙄

I wouldn't be surprised if they A: can't match the quality of the mod, or B: rip off the mod and sell it as their own invention. Let's wait and see...

Hope it is thai based. Thai language is like candy to my ears. Not that I expect them to incorporate a real language into an expansion pack but I love everything that reminds me of thai culture and people.

I expect them to sell yet another EP that should have been a game pack, for sure. I'm curious about the world especially if it does end up being inspired by Thailand but that's it. Which doesn't mean much because as much as I like Tartosa, I still don't own Wedding Nightmares :)

Sounds like they started an update for City Living and realized halfway that they could make more money instead

I haven't bought anything since Cottage Living. I've been quite interested and excited at some of the announcements, but then the pack comes out and I watch reviews and see how very empty and broken everything always is, and I end up not getting it. Sims is just a disappointment rollercoaster these days.

Lol I cannot belive that they are doing expansion pack that covers feature that is already in the base game while hotels is one of the most requested features now... It's beyond ridiculous And after Horse Ranch I don't even hope for suprise, I'm pretty sure that active career will be main feature of this pack

A Thai world WOULD be a good setting for a hotel/resort pack tho. You can do the tropical beaches neighborhood and a party downtown city neighborhood.

A Thai world, if actually done well, could make it worth it…otherwise I’ll get the mods. I was thinking “neighborly” being like condos/townhouses/super high rise apartments…but like someone else said, it’s really only cool if you can play multiple households at the same time.

I don't play Sims 4, anymore, but I'd be REAL skeptical of this because I bought whichever expansion that was supposed to let you have roommates... it never allowed me to have roommates and that was the ONLY reason I bought that one, so I can't wait to see how broken this will end up being, lol. Plus, I didn't enjoy the way they did apartments in Sims 4, so again, rentals don't make me hopeful for y'all.

I really hope that it’s better than the RE Realestate mod, but I have a feeling that this is gonna be a similar story to my wedding stories, it’s probably going to be broken, at least on release. And if a modder can implement a whole new system better that the actual company behind the game, then that’s just really sad

I am so intrigued, mostly because this sounds like absolute bullshit. EA usually tries to make things sound good even if they aren't, so I'm looking forward to hearing what the features are. No idea how they'll try to convince us to buy this

They’ll never come up with hotels. If they’re unable to fix broken packs like dine out or wedding stories they are obviously unable to program a complex game as hotels etc
