Hi there--you passed us on the way down at about treeline. I ran the rest of the way down a bit behind you and spoke to Hillary for a moment at the trail head, shortly after her "not so brutal" comment I think, and she told me what you guys were doing. Wow! We summited Longs the next day but it took us longer to do that (13hrs) than it took you to do the whole bike/run/climb thing from Boulder and back. Mind blowing. Great job!

Hi Jackson, what is your view on supplementing magnesium? As a vegan endurance athlete, i sweat a lot and often. Cronometer says i hit my daily RDI for magnesium, but is there benefit to upping my magnesium intake / supplement? Any health risks?

I wouldn't worry too much about supplementing magnesium unless you really start to have some deficiency symptoms (intense muscle cramps or weakness). As long as you're eating a well varied plant based diet composed of mainly whole foods and sufficient calories, you should be fine! Because luckily the best sources of magnesium are all plant foods, so make sure you're getting a lot of dark leafy greens, nuts & seeds, tofu, beans, whole grains, etc.
