Great choice! This video presents the hard studio work very well, the boring parts of the recording session when 2-3 lines or notes have been discussed hours long, parts have been played repetitively days long, arguments about the personal ideas. I have never thought before, that to give a birth to a song was so difficult. Freddie’s and Brian’s obvious perfectionism could have been sometimes annoying, but they were right, because the result speaks for itself. Brian mentioned in an interview, that Freddie was really good at the mixing desk, at balancing, putting the bits together.
Yep!! My dad was in a folk trio in the 60’s and I witnessed the countless hours, days, weeks working out a song … sometimes just for the studio session. The barrage of music & lyrics constantly entering your head!! Plus, rehearsals for the weekly variety show! My dad living the dream!!
The drums are always isolated. Not sure why lol, but that’s what the internet tells me. Fun to watch them in this setting. They have they’re own language.
I love how they make and play this SUBLIME music, and then just revert back to classic english reservedness instantly. Brian: rocks the roof off with a killer guitar riff Freddie:...right well that was quite good, could hold the end note a little longer though -_-
Funniest part ... 15:25 Roger Taylor's face is just a complete question mark 🤔🤣🤣 I notice that you haven't done a reaction to 'Love of My Life' Rock in Rio 1985 or ''39'' is a good/different one with Roger up front for a change .
Respect for you doing this the right way. Never understood how reactors could view “The Making of” and not React to the actual very important original video!
Queen allowed the studio sessions to be recorded for a two week period. 🎥Obviously, edited for our entertainment but nonetheless quite interesting & very much appreciated. I love Queen’s brotherhood and I love fried chicken. 🍗 😋
I’m ready to get hated for this comment … A huge Queen fan since hearing their debate album at the age of 7…Thanks Big Brother (RIP). One thing I am thankful for with reactions is the discovery of Queen to a new generation. But, what really bothers me is the worship of Freddie from Reactions/Reactors. Yes, absolutely Freddie was one of the Greatest frontmen; like so many of the Greatest Rock Bands ever. But so many forget, I took all the Masters to make these Bands Great. This video is a prime example of the brilliance it took from all members.
Love you answered the phone. Lol. Great review of 4 perfectionists creating with the glorious Freddie Mercury. Used to have to record parts in different rooms. ❤Queen
Definitely check out their live at Wembley version of One Vision. Unforgettable performance and you get a glimpse of the incredible amount of work that goes into building their stage.
I love watching Freddie recording himself doing the whoa whoa whoa who yeah parts on multiple tracks. When you listen to the song you don't really know those harmonies are just him. Amazing
They are writing (!) in the studio ... so there aren't there to record a song, but to create one! You got it, as you said! :) So it's not that Brian isn't able to do the solo as there is no solo, yet! He was about to event one! ^^+gg
Try It’s A kind of Magic live at Wembley and You Take My Breath Away live 1976 Hyde Park. Hypnotic both. If you want to hear a band rip up a thieving old manager that ripped them off listen to Death On Two Legs. Wow! It shows that no one should piss this band off especially Freddie who wrote the song. It’s 😮
It's fascinating to see how the song gets puts together. This was in the album for the movie Highlander, "A kind of Magic" but wasn't in the film. It was an extra special thing. You should listen to the whole album. Especially "Give me the prize ". It's SO good.
