This season could’ve been so much better without Grogu imo. They only brought him back to sell more merch and get more marketing. This season should’ve been about Mando trying to get back his honor (insert prince Zuko) and learn more about the dark saber and they should’ve made Bo Katan a power hungry madwoman instead of trying to redeem her now. She was a literal terrorist and killed innocents and even did human trafficking (in the clone wars I think she tried selling Ahsoka to that prince or whoever)
Would've much rather they continued with a side plot of him training with luke... or not. Grogu is annoying as hell. so is the mechanic wench... and 80% of the other characters. I guess the seaweed pirate is kind of cool...
In Disney Star Wars, neither the Empire nor the Republic seem capable of controlling an elementary school. The idea of either running a galaxy is as preposterous as that Baby Yoda fight!
I'm fine with the New Republic being weak af, if the sequels stay cannon, it only makes sense that an inept, bloated, bureaucracy would lose so hard to the new order. It's unable to deal with pirates, let alone an organized military
@@anythingIwant. I mean it’s only natural for a state to be unstable after revolution and government change. There would be lots of loopholes to exploit and everything
I'm still baffled at the fact that they have so much money to back up these movies and shows and still manage to deliver worst action scenes that the ones present at the original Star Wars! I mean, the original trilogy has time as an justified explanation, but that baby Yoda fight was literally throwing a plush around and calling it a day.
Don't get me wrong I like it too, "Graydon, quit talking you dumb fuck." Used to make me laugh, when I heard it. But, playing ball is also why everyone else (who do the same thing as Reaper) are vastly more successful at what they do.
Yeah, imagine speaking your mind on a platform that was, more-or-less, made just for that: self-expression. Shame RU-vid loves demonetizing shit all the time, so people always got to walk on eggshells. Though, that's only for those who actually care, and are trying to make a buck off this platform; which in turn feels like it just kills any freedom for the creator to speak their mind.
The centralisation of media that has occurred and continues to occur only acts to stifle and kill creativity. Especially when they're all proponents of the hive mind, "good think" schtick. None of this stuff comes across as genuine.
That's called freedom of speech, my ancestors fought for you to have that god given right. It's actually depressing that young men these days don't even know of their god given rights.
That analogy of Disney Star Wars and doctor patient r*pe was one of the most brutally cynical yet savagely apt descriptions for the state of the franchise I have ever heard 😂This is why I watch your vids Reaper, glad you're still uploading despite RU-vid inexplicably nuking your entire channel, keep fighting the good fight brother.
The fact that no one even talks about the scene should show you what actual impact it had. When people still talk about scenes from the first 3 films and even the prequels. Who even talks about the Kenobi show that was out only last year?
@@richardmcgowan1651 that’s what I’ve been saying. Even though people say the prequels are bad, there’s a reason they are still so relevant after 20+ years…

@@taffwobot necessarily. The tunics mandalorians wear are weather resistant and acid resistant. Otherwise they would be remarkably vulnerable even wearing full beskar, as it only covers head, chest, part of the back, thighs and sometimes shins/shoulders. Majority of the body is protected by their body glove. Much like clone armor, the body glove is crucial.
This show has become a parody of itself. Every episode so far has been nothing but filler, random monster battles that serve no purpose, "This is the way" every 2 seconds, close-ups of Grogu's stupid little face in every other frame. I know the show in general isn't the greatest, but I personally loved seasons 1 & 2 (more so season 1), but what the hell is this season!? Nothing happens! Say what you want about the previous seasons, but at least they had a story.
I haven't watched S3 yet, but tbh I felt that was the vibe I got with s1 and 2. Could be wrong, but I felt it was mostly just random encounters and grogu cute fan service shit. Not that I dislike it but filler doesn't seem exactly new to me.
@@ww2germanhero Lmao, I’ve been calling it Book of Beta Fett, but this, this takes the cake! From now on I will be calling it the Book of Boba Fart, thank you kind sir/ma’am
@@welkingunther4298 That's why I say it became a parody of itself. Yes the last 2 seasons have these same tropes but season 3 dials those up to 11. It's like the showrunners looked at Mandalorian memes and took that as "wow our viewers really like this trope, let's put a lot more of those in S3!" Yes S1 & S2 had filler, but still had an overall narrative. S3 is 90% filler, so far at least.
@@Nick-hm9rh Terrible take. Have you seen his acting in The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, even Wonder Woman 84? It's just he has nothing to act in Mandalorian.
*Imperial warlords start attempting to rebuild the Empire Luke:”I sleep!” *Ben Solo gets bad dreams Luke:”Oh No I need to kill him in his sleep!” It’s quite sad that Disney is trying to degrade Luke,Han and Leia, because they know that Ma Rey Sue will never be as popular or liked! Can Disney as a company please go the way of Alderaan at this point? Just so Billions of voices can cry out in relief and joy!
That mando training camp looks so dumb. Aiming flame throwers at each other??? Shooting at bodies of water??? Theory: the sets were too small and they were in a rush so they jammed all the actors together under a very strict time limit.
Looks like a bunch of wanna be cosplayers running around. I've seen better costumes at Spirit Halloween. Two years in the making we give you Bo Kata - I mean The Mandalorian.. This is the Way
It bugs me there are no creative minds at Disney, I literally think of Star Wars stories on the fly while at work. I'm not saying my stories are good, but they're better than this season.
The worst part is... These are apparently the good ones... They couldn't make a good Rogue 1... rogue 1 is basically SW Top Gun and Maverick just did better SW than Disney yet Disney can't make a fictional one better...
@@michaellane5381 You mean the Rogue Squadron movie that got canceled. "Rogue One" was the 2016 movie we got about the spies stealing the Death Star plans, none of them were fighter pilots.
@@matthewk4912 yes, that is what I meant, I always forget they called that movie rogue 1 and just remember the rogue squadron members who fought for that title.
Yo, Dave and John are fans of Star Wars. Clone wars was excellent, rebels had its great moments. Bad batch isn’t too bad. People have to remember tho, Dave Filoni and John Favreau aren’t the sole creators. Kathleen Kennedy and other some executives, continuously switch there grubby talentless fingers into their story’s, add this here, add this there, bring back baby yoda in boba fett so we can have him in mando 3 and make money off cuteness, blah blah blah, which then screws up the stories they have planned so they have to rig some bs plot in there to explain it which then a lot of the time causes plot holes in the originally intended story.
@@jeffrussel7104 you have to keep in mind though, Filoni is the reason Canon was unmoored, a book in Legends was given a named Jedi to kill in Canon, then Filoni killed him somewhere between a week and a full month later, they should have caught it and slightly discolored the character then changed his name, might have reduced impact on the audience, but it would have easily saved Canon, before that point, canon had tiers, now nothing matters but video and shows by precedent, Disney can argue different and say their EU is different from previous Canon, but ultimately it's just a legends in waiting that isn't worth the print or read, and that wouldn't be a problem if the show's and movies were actually written in a way to maintain a canon... But they blew that load with the Sequels, which is why they have to kill the Sequels and anything referencing them, because you can't Lucas edit everything at once if your directors don't understand Canon as they steer it.
Like Dave Filoni created loads of shit together with Lucas, it just shows how you have no idea what you're talking about along with huge portion of the commenters here, as well as the person who created this video.
This really does play into the rumor that the first season and part of the second of Mando was really written as a Boba Fett movie back when Disney first got Star Wars. Now you're seeing the actual quality of the modern Disney writer with season 3. And, lets be honest, season two was really just fan service.. bringing back characters everyone wanted to see.
I think the boy wasn't going to be Paz Visla's son, but they were like, "What if he was!?" Based on how emotional Paz is in every scene, I don't think after his jetpack ran out of fuel that he'd stop to talk but would keep running. What a wasted character. Even the Armorer is a wasted character. Would've been so cool if the Armorer double crossed Bo Katan and was like, "Okay I want to challenge you for Mandalor now."
I can hear a fan boy say"it's for kids" and my retort would be "so you think kids are dumb and don't recognize bad storytelling?" I know I did, it's why you develope taste and once you taste "good stuff" the crap is just made all the more obvious. 😁
Wouldn't the mandos be smart enough to always have jet pack fuel on reserve on their person?? Why else would you chase an animal that always gets away???
To be honest the whole "can't take off your helmet" thing is getting stupid. Surely you can take it off in front of members of your clan or friends, family or people you trust. Also by going off by yourselves in the dark to eat doesn't that leave you vulnerable, ever heard of strength in numbers? 😂
I haven’t watched a single ep of season 3 and won’t, the ending of season 2 was a perfect wrap up for the story between Din and Grogu. That’s good enough for me,
Not to mention that when gina compares america to Nazi Germany she gets fired but when Pedro does it nothing happens, simply because they exist on different sides of the political spectrum.

Anyone else getting the feeling that the mandatories is turning into the Bo Katan show? And why are they hinting that moth Gideon is returning when they should be introducing thrawn as the big bad guy to Star Wars?
Idk why but I couldn’t stop laughing when mandalorian told bo Katan that “when you get your food you go off and find a place to take off your helmet” 😂 it’s so stupid that it caught me off guard
Only Disney and their band of insane writers who spend all day dyeing their hair and making tiktok videos would think THAT (3:45) is a """"femme-fatale""""" what the HECK???????????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I looked up the actress (Katy O'Brian) , and you'll never guess the gender of her partner - go on, try to guess, you'll be amazed, it's hard to believe, and you wouldn't believe what you'll find
I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. In order for everyone to eat, they must all split up to where no one can see each other's faces, not only that but by taking of the helmet you lose a pretty impactful piece of tactical gear since I'm assuming the helmet has communications equipment, scanners, polarizing visor, targeting assistance linked to their weapons, in addition to providing protection...🤦♂️ Remember Mandalorians in legends? Pepperidge farms remembers.
Season 3 has a pacing problem, we have 3 episodes left and are yet to even see Moff Gideon. Why can Bo Katan walk both ways but Din can't, he's in possession of the dark saber. Furthermore it feels like Din and Grogu have become secondary characters, this is more Bo Katan's season than Din and Grogu. Which I think is partially the fault of the writing team bringing back Grogu after season 2 finale, it feels like originally this season was supposed to be about Din and Bo Katan.
We all know why Bo Katan is taking the spotlight and it's because she's a strong wahhhhman. Din's just a stupid incompetent man, he can't be the lead in his own show. Clearly strong wahman is a better fit to lead
About the Jar Jar actor being driven away by the fans, yes, that was absolutely true. There were webpages (primitive by today's standards) saying over and over again that "Jar Jar must die!"
@@fuzzblightyear145 It’s really incredible that JMS wrote 92 of 110 episodes of that series and he rarely missed a beat. Even the worst of seasons 1 and 5 are infinitely more entertaining and interesting than anything Disney has done with Star Wars. And Disney has spent billions of dollars on it while Warner Brothers gave Babylonian Productions a shoestring budget to produce Babylon 5.
Omg 💯 agree with everything! Glad it's not just me! Also, how was the mother beast just reaching back a whole day after when she already had gone to the nest? 😂
surely in episode 3 of the next season we will have a whole chapter to tell us what happened that whole day, the "great adventures" of the beast and its food 😂
If I had a nickel for a streaming show that stars Pedro Pascal and the third episode is complete filler that doesn’t even have the main characters… I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t that much but its weird that it happened twice.
This show should be a layup. They airballed it, got the rebound and airballed it again. It truly is an accomplishment to ruin this show and Disney has not disappointed in that department.
You guys are right, nothing good came of any of this. None of our main characters got any character development, and no new threats were even alluded to.
Lucasfilm is getting sued for breach of contract. If the way they make shows is a small example of how that studio is run, they're gonna lose that case, big time.
Episode 4 was genuinely unforgivable in its stupidity. I was getting *angry* at how insulting it was, but I had to grit my teeth because I was watching it with family. Utterly miserable
I find it funny when Filoni had Clones miss someone in his previous project, The Clone Wars, it was an execution squad deliberately missing their target but here the storyboard or VFX lead couldn't make up their mind also, why would dollar store windu use a ship that was A: not armed B: used only by Naboo Royalty C: stick out like a sore thumb when a Gozanti model already exists, is prevalent throughout the galaxy as early as 34 BBY, and incredibly common
Did anyone notice that D+ didn't show a screenshot or episode description in the episode listing? 😂 They were like, yea, we gon' have to be sneaky to get people to watch our sh!t.
They hang out and train at a lake, with their kids, that houses gigantic dinosaur alligators who try to eat them, while at the same time gigantic dinosaur pterodactyls are swooping down trying to eat them. Yet, no defenses are set up, no watch towers, no weapon emplacements, just people hanging out on the beach shooting at the water. Best fighters in the galaxy huh? Even the Ewoks had more sense; at least they lived in trees to avoid the predators.
As unfitting as it was in Mandalorian, the stuff on Coruscant was the only time we've had real characters doing real things, while having real dialogue.
I haven't watched this third season or ever care much for Star Wars outside of the video games but to think a literal interstellar civilization and it's inner workings can be kept in line by three people and their moral compass is something only a child would come up with. Humans can't run a small village without corruption popping up much less a whole galaxy.
*"Now, can anyone tell me what the plot of the show is?"* This is the exact same issue S2 had and I'm a little surprised that I'm not the least bit surprised. And I'm legitimately sick to death of Lucasfilm just excising all the concept art from their archives and shoving it in wherever. It only highlights their staunch inability to contribute anything unique to this universe.
The BAD BATCH had me on the edge of my seat and the last 2 episodes were amazing. With that said I couldn't make it through the latest episode of the Madalorian, Kennedy making them change route by keeping the Baby Yoda messed up any chance for that road trip to have any good stops, start thumbing your way home now no need to finish that ride its over and done.
There is something called a Gizzard, you'll find it in birds and reptiles, swallowed does not mean riding around in a stomach. That being said, the writers probably didn't know, I'm not defending it and your conclusions are spot on.
the short videos you use make me laugh ( the sopranos and the scrubs one were : cheff kiss) , you have the best references , i know for sure that i have more fun watching your reviews than the show itself so i just dont watch the show . thanks..... .edit: well is not a review per se cause you tell the story plot plus commentary which is great .
I had assumed that this was towards the end of the temple attack or on a back side and kelleran had called his naboo buddies to have a ship ready. Who knows, Idk if it was left for some level of interpretation.
Average Star Wars character: Eww why is this ice cream not bioluminescent? Its all cream white. If its not glowing cyan how do you even know its safe to eat. It must be full of chemicals. Gross!
13:47 That analogy could be used for what this lady had done to the doctor too if you think about it. He's laying down defenseless and she touches his tourture dial. His no, no dial.
Not only do I think they've just been building up to the latest reveal, but I also stand to believe episode 3 was my favorite of the entire series. Good shows have buildup, and this show has been doing just that. I also wanted to know more about the scientist and was very interested in his story
THE DART SCENE WAS SO DUMB not only did I agree with the foundling in the blue helmet about everything he was saying, I also shared his grievance and long * sigh * as he struts off by himself to the rim of the lake. He just got screwed over by a baby who not only used force bullshit but the foundling was clearly holding back on grogu and grogu lets off 3 darts in a single turn, overballing this kid, and having all of his points count at once, where as when the foundling fired, it was a once-per-round point system. Horrible ref. horrible game. bad training day. grogu learns nothing and experiences no growth. The foundling who got shat on takes a walk to blow off steam and then his day gets worse as hes dragged off for 100 miles and spends the day in the belly of a dragon, then is taken back out again and nearly dies 5 times being rescued and in all honesty couldve just been dropped against a rock and picked up again by the dragon.... you don't need your prey to be ALIVE if you are feeding them to your young. (We have animals irl that will drop their prey from a high hieght before flying them off to a nest to make sure they are too dead to have a possibility of escape or hurting the young at the nest) They wouldve been right to consider him lost forever and its only be sheer plot convenience and luck that the boy was still alive in the clutches of raw nature for that long. This is the second warning sign that was preventable. your valley is inhabited by fuckin MORROWIND creatures. get out of there.
I'm thinking baby Yoder finds the mythosaur and crawls up it's ass and controls it like IG.12. While Bo katan puts a saddle on Din and rides him into battle while whipping him and calling him a bad little face showing whore. Moff Gideon will go visit an early stage failed clone of Palpatine at the east coast/west coast hemorrhoid treatment & cloning center of latter day sith and get half his face blown off when a IED underneath palps wheelchair goes off. It will peak when Kathleen Kennedy shows up in mandolorian armor and straps a huge dark saber strap-on and fucks the literal credits as they roll. Also there will be ewoks, and they fly now.
I remember fans trashing Jar Jar Binks - it was about the writers and the director thinking the character, behaving that way, with that ridiculous accent, was a good idea! No one said a word about the actor! No one even suggested it was his fault, and I certainly had no idea what he even looked like until now! Yet another unnecessary bullshit victimization narrative!
Kathleen Kuntedy ruined the plot line Favreau had planned for this season by having Mando and Grogu reunite in Book of Boba Fett for merchandise and monetary reasons. That's why this season suffered. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau actually care about the IP but are limited in creative processing by that genital herpes of a human being Kathleen. I wouldn't be surprised if they're purposely sabotaging the show for those reasons.
Not that I’m excusing it because this show is total pants but I’m assuming the negative portrayal of the new republic is a build up to the Force Awakens and why the evil empire version 2 was able to rise. As you say Reaper it ruins what Han, Leia and Luke and the rebellion did to get rid of the original evil empire. The Mandalorian is a totally pointless, dull show.
episode 3 was a terrific star wars story, felt like a fun Phillip K Dick romp and I'm glad both these episodes have heavy character emphasis and world building. The show needs time to breath, not just chasing plot points over and over. The non sequitur episodes were many people's favorite parts of season one and these ones are even better. IN MY OPINION.
Yeah I'm confused why people are acting this way when the Clone Wars was filled with episodes like this. And these episodes ARE going to serve the plot later. People are just too impatient. Also episode 3 reminded me of 1984 and I liked that
@@alexism9656 because it feels extremely out of place, it fits in the clone wars because its an anthology, the mandalorian is a chronological story which each episode follows the mandalorian and having some dude we barely remember show up and be the main focus feels out of place. maybe it will serve the plot later idk.
@@nigelpisswater484 I guess I got used to it. And I welcome breaks in stories to focus on a character. Some of my favorite shows do that. Especially if it's going to set up something in the show like episode 3 in Mando S3
