We all know Eli at the manning Christmas dinner still talks about how he could’ve beaten Peyton if that bs pass interference call didn’t happen

Peyton won the sb on that season and next season eli won the sb

Little did we know we were watching the 06 champs vs the 07 champs.

I remember how this game was hyped as if it was the most important event in history LOL. Looking back on it, this was the perfect game to start SNF with.

This was the first ever episode of NBC Sunday Night Football, which as we know became the new #1 game plus flex scheduling! It’s now been the most watched show on TV for 13 seasons!

Consider that it may be several years before we see a pair of starting QB brothers in the NFL at the same time again. I feel privileged to have witnessed it.

wow, i forgot about those two dropped interceptions by the Giants early on in the game.

You also really get a sense of how much the neck injury took off Manning’s arm strength. He was ripping some throws in this game.

Gee, I miss those days when the Giants ACTUALLY had an offensive line and a running game that opposing defenses feared from week to week. Seems like a long, long, long time ago.

I felt like an old man watching this and I'm only 26, wow the NFL has changed alot.

I noticed everybody was coming for the head. Game was more violent back then in my opinion.

2006 was a great year to be an NFL fan! Unfortunately my Chargers’ great season ended in a huge disappointment, but nonetheless, 2006 was filled with amazing games.

Two of the greatest to ever do it, it’s in their blood, glad to have grown up watching them, now they can enjoy some football on their phones!

The last 3 years of Coughlin were bad, but they had so many injuries and terrible depth in 2013-15 with poor free agents and drafting. But between 2005-2012 the Giants had competitive teams for the most part.

I started watching football this particular year, in 2006, so I did not get to watch Tiki Barber much. But if this game was an accurate sample of him, WOW; he must have been an amazing running back to watch.

I remember being so excited for this game!

Seems like on every throw peyton manning had to throw a dime because of how good that defense was playing.

This game was fun had some good hype for it as it opened the season I believe. I’ll never forget being at champps Americana with my parents hours before kickoff eating appetizers making sure we had a seat to watch the game. Back in peytons hay day here locally you couldn’t get a seat at any restaurant that had TVs for years it was the best time

- Kind of disappointed we never got to see a 'Manning vs Manning' Super Bowl because there were times that both teams were succeeding at the same time & it would've made for a memorable Super Bowl storyline. As it turned out, they both did make Super Bowl appearances twice each but they were separately...Eli's Giants beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII & XLVI while Peyton won his 1st Super Bowl w/ the Indianapolis Colts against the Bears in Super Bowl XLI & his 2nd, this time with the Denver Broncos, vs the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Remember watching this as a kid with my dad (6) being almost 20 now.. holy fuck does time go by too quickly..

Peyton had Eli just outclassed in so many ways back in the day. Yeah I know Eli edged out the 2 big SB wins against the Pats but that was also largely due to the Giants having one of the best defenses in the league for a few years at that point. Yeah I know, Denvers D played a huge roll in Peytons SB win with them, but that was also the tail end of his career.

Has Tom Coughlin had rosey red cheeks all his life or just when Eli is QB? My blood pressure prolly be high too.

The interesting part is that the Colts won the 2006 season while the Giants won the 2007 season. The Giants beat the Patriots which didn’t lose any games in that season before the Super Bowl.

Wow that OPI in the 4th Q was an absolute dog turd call. Basically ended the game for the Giants. These big pass interference calls need to all be reviewed. They have that much impact on the game.

My god. Barber was an absolute machine. I forgot how efficient he was until seeing him play again.

I also miss the old Giants Stadium. MetLife Stadium is an expensive, dull looking, bland place that was built more for the corporate folks than for the true fans. The old stadium may have been a bit outdated before it was torn down, but it had character, history, and a better game day atmosphere compared to the new stadium. I also believe that if the Giants were the sole occupants of the newer stadium and didn’t have to share the stadium with the Jets, (they should get their own damn stadium!) I’m quite sure the stadium would’ve had a much different design. More of a old/modern throwback look , and an appearance that makes it known that it’s truly their stadium. MetLife, with those ugly looking gray seats and the ever changing signage, colors and wall drapery, makes it seem as it’s two teams renting the place rather than one actually owning it. It’s a billion dollar metal waste of corporate garbage!!!

I like both of the Manning brothers because #1 they are not Tom Brady and don't cheat #2 I like colts and I went to super bowl with Eli Manning in it. Sorry pat lovers got to call you guys out for "DEFLATE GATE"

2006...wow it's crazy to think that year was so long ago it's now considered a different era. And never thought about it, but the next two super bowls would be won back to back by brothers.

Looking back, these hits were insane compared to how they are now.
