It's funny because this scene is from the opening chapter of the original novel and it was somewhat better there. The Tyrannosaurus chased two hadrosaurs into the water and got stuck in the muddy goo of the ocean bed because it was too heavy to swim (?), the megalodon swam in front of the hadrosaurs and frightened them back onto land before attacking the rex and levitating half of its body straight up out of the water before shaking the rex into a bunch of pieces. And this was an 80-foot shark doing this in only 16 feet of water.

Yeah unlike that stupid 2019 Godzilla movie. Tone was all over the place. Interesting serious concepts like ecological problems franchise is known for(more serious films like og or Shin for example)muddied with out of place"jokes" later MCU style(oh my God...zilla,Serizawa got that lizard juiced,King Gonorrhea(Ghidorah). Even without attempts at humor themes were executed horribly, eco terrorist mom who caused mass destruction gets shoehorned redemption thriugh sacrifice and other examples of it. Movies like Meg,Godzilla vs Kong and Rampage at least more or less aknowledge campiness and embrace it. Deliver action sequences too. Properly executed dumb fun media is better than poorly executed attempt at dark, serious and intellegent imo. Dumb fun doesn't set high standards and delivers, poorly executed"smart movie"just falls flat and ends up being pretentious.
Sorry for off topic rant, but had to express thoughts here, since a lot of Godzilla fans are blinded by shameless nostalgia bait, biased and/or media illiterate. Plus King of the monsters is like that damn Speckles tarbosaurus movie. It also couldn't decide whether it was for mature audience ,with pretty violent for a kids movie fight scenes,or for younger audience with how ridiculous it can get. Same with kotm. MCU style"humor",stupid decission made by characters yet still portrays itself as something serious and epic world ending story, which it could've been with better director who wasn't hardcore fanboy, cramming it with tones of obscure references to old movies, and better company to work on visuals, better screenwriters too. God,that movies angers me so much,it was first introduction of classic Toho kaijus for general audience and they were done dirty. Good designs stuck in that terrible movie that didn't even have good fighting choreography. Not only personalities of human characters, but even monsters were bad. Ghidorah spawned that supid Kevin meme, number of Mothra x Godzilla shippers increased,Rodan was traitorous punching bag for Ghidorah and Mothra. Godzila was overpowered Gary Stu with originally tragic burning form being reduced to shonen power up,don't even get me started on use of oxygen destroyer in this movie...all emotional weight of original OD reduced to generic anti-titan weapon that failed and only existed so Ghidorah-planet terraforming beast could survive against Godzilla in ocean and to prove his alien origins. Original King G turned Venus(or Mars depending on version of a movie)into wasteland, solo'd earth monsters one-on-one and required team work to take him down, still survived fighting Godzilla underwater and simply fled.
@@user-vc8pu5vk6z I personally enjoyed the movie for the monster designs and fights I just tune out most of the human storyline because let's be honest every Godzilla movie ever had a mid at best human storyline just focus on the nuclear lizard fighting a dragon which is why sckull island was the best because the human storyline was getting eaten and running everything else cool monsters I think we can all agree why we come to a Godzilla movie and it's not to be with the human characters we forgot existed
@@idiotgaming6376i respect your opinion and glad that you didn't act toxic, but my problem was that kotm felt like a try-hard wannabe. It wasn't well written like Og or Shin, but still tried to be. Now if that terrorist mom wasn't included and Alan Jonah was just moustache twirling villain without all this"i saw horrors of war"backstory dialogue, with monster fights not cutting to forced family drama, yeah that would be rad.
@@Pop-ms9zf It's just a low effort, average movie about a shark, there is no complex thought put behind this film. Only reason it's coming out is, because they have seen the level of sucess from the first movie.
The Meg, with a skeleton so strong it doesn't collapse into powder when it throws itself onto boats and land itself with all of its weight and power. And with the ability to move in reverse with the same motion and arc it went forward with.
@@raistlin3462 because human for unclear reason have smells that really attracting for any big monsters that logically won't eat it due to overly small size
Please make more primeval videos it’s that time of year again when I get sad we lost Nick cutter He was so inspirational and in turn had a whole team of people following him who believed in him only for no plot lines to ever be resolved In the history of primeval
this film looks so goofy lmfao, i thought we as a society were getting over the whole sharks are blood thirsty monsters thing and seeing them as just normal animals
Hey RickRaptor105 Just wondering but have you seen the new dinosaur film called I am tree (2023) if not it’s basically speckles the tarbosaurus and the lion king rolled into one,and I was also wondering if we’re gonna do a review on it also I’m a huge fan of your review’s
Hey, I just found out there was another terrible dinosaur movie, it's called I Am T.Rex. You wanna check it out? To me, it was godawful and right up your alley
HOW THE FUCK CAN A 50 FEET SHARK AMBUSH A TYRANNOSAURUS IN SHALLOW WATER Maybe it’s monster hunter logic where a gaint fish with legs can submerged its entire body in a waist high pond
Theres a new dino movie called "I am T-Rex" its a carbon copy of speckles the tarbosaurus well I only saw the trailer not sure if you'll doa review on it
I swear the plot of these movies is just big ass shark- compilation of big shark being a blood thirsty killer- humans trying to kill big ass shark and failing- and to end it some random ass dude manages to kill big ass shark and the movie ends
Oh wow. A Meg/JP cross over?! Honest to god, that's the JP rex model, ripped straight from JP. Also why does the CGI look so bad? The Meg is a relatively new movie, right? Also also something something science something something paleontology "The megalodon didn't get anywhere near that big"
Well that was stupid, but at least it was cooler than anything the first movie had to offer. On a side note, review My Tyrano: Together Forever, it's genuinely such an interesting film.
Seriously, what are those four-legged reptile things the t-rex hunts even supposed to be? They just dont look like anything to me (and if the movie tries to claim they're an actual animal we know of I'll think I'll lose it)
The new trailer looks supremely disappointing. I really don’t want to go back to the constantly roaring early 2000’s dinosaurs where accuracy is an afterthought which wasn’t implemented, screw you 65, and it’s looking the same for this.
