Gemrazer has sneaky reach. It is probably an ok card vs rogues even if it doesn't blow anything up on the mutate.

I think the reason there are so many basics is because Phylath only makes tokens based on the number of basic lands you have.

I think if you dropped the Red, maybe replaced them with some Black removal, fixed the Mana base, put in a proper sideboard, then a Golgari Mutate/Landfall deck might be interesting. I did like how well the Boneyard Lurker worked.

I hate the Rogues deck in this Standard. It's miserable getting your face beat in with creatures that mill you AND are also just super efficient on their face.

Meme or dream is always hilarious. Finally made it to 9 whole sideboard cards, 3 of them are zagoth mamba but all well.

What are the chances these incomplete sideboard decks are for best of one? I haven't seen where Seth gets his lists but do they define what format they were played in?

Son in terms of power level, Rogues is a perfectly fine deck. It's powerful but but not *too* powerful, and it certainly doesn't have any cards in it that deserve to be banned. But it's also pure misery to play against. I feel your pain.

Just finished match 2. I have a golgari mutate deck, and zagoth mamba is the tech for rogues. It kills most of early games. It is just bad vs crab.

I was playing 1v1 Commander against a friend. He was some RWU soldier deck. I used Cao Cao as my mono-black commander. Played Sleeper agent, cast Corrupt Court Official and then Deception. Played a gloom pangolin for some reason. then I released the dirge bat. Then I tried to mutate the dirge bat with the space godzilla, death corona, Cast tainted strike to give the dirge bat infect, and kill my opponent with infect. He was playing RWU soldiers though, so he destroyed me. GG.

I'm pretty sure everyone runs a ton of removal to try and beat rouge's and stay alive long enough to run them out if counters

How hard is it to play the common 2c duals? This deck severely suffers bc they don't play them.

I play the straight up Gruul version of this deck. Still pretty bad, honestly. It can do some crazy stuff with Starrix and Landfall but it's so weak to spot removal and it gets run over by faster aggro decks.

Boy was that deck a Stinker!! When you actually beat Rouges a round in game one.......I truly couldn't believe it.

Why didn't you bring in any Gemrazer over Uprising or something less useful against Rogues? They are 4/4's with reach and rogues having flying X/3's that need to be blocked...

Seth, I SUPER appreciate your content. You are positive in the face of losing, able to poke fun at yourself when you do something silly, and can make a real janky deck look attractive. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is when you call things a “nut draw”. That’s the kind of language that keeps MTG for the boys.

Honestly I think some of these decks are from the FFL and they just claim it went 6-0 on arena.

That’s not how mutate works

I hate rogues so much. Your matches against them perfectly illustrate why - they hit you on multiple fronts - you can't aggro because they have efficient blockers, you can't durdle because they're gonna mill you out and they have evasive beatdown plan. When you think they're out of gas they casually draw 4for4 or 2for1 and on top they have baller removal/counters, they mostly operate at instant speed and late game they have reach/recursion thanks to Lurrus and Agadeem. The deck has no natural counter/bad matchup. I don't even know what would make it less powerful. The saddest thing is that there is no card like Gaea's Blessing in standard that would hose them. The deck pretty much sneezes and you have 8 cards in your grave and after that everything they do is enabled. I would love to have a flash flying 3/2 that nukes graves on ETB or something. AAAAAAA why does standard have to suck so much. Rogues, Yorion loops, 20/20s for 3 mana, swordy boi that stabs you dead no matter what you do, and Ugin on T5 because why not.

I find it reassuring that most of Seth's videos reach at least 30k views consistently, while crim's only get 10+k.

Very few decks are more UNfun than Rogues. What misery to both play and play against.

I'm at the point now where I skip rogue matchups both in youtube videos and in the game itself. It's the most boring deck to play and to sit across from. Huge mistake by Wizards.

I dont think dirge bat is that ambitious. From my count there are 22 black sources.
