before i get more comments about these things- - yes icdx was made in 1.6 not 1.9 i mispoke cause im a silly head! - light blue sonic wave was made to rival poltergeist, NOT bloodbath! not sure what i was thinking when i wrote that into the script and voiced it over and still didnt change it but alas, here we are. dark blue sonic wave was made to rival bloodbath, and light blue was made to rival poltergeist as the hardest nine circles level. sorry about that! - unnerfed phobos is not on the list because it is very overrated! it is nowhere near the difficulty of deimos (for some reason people think deimos is an accurate recreation of unnerfed phobos- it is not, its just superbuffed). unnerfed phobos is MUCH easier than deimos and it is not hard enough to be considered ambitious! - unnerfed sakupen hell (the one hacked by noobas) was NEVER rated. it was openly hacked and robtop never rated the level as a result, which makes it irrelevant on a list like this. trusta would eventually verify the version we all know today, but that would not be enough to be thought of as ambitious. - i did NOT use list gaps between top 1s and top 2s to determine what was ambitious- i am full aware of the flaw in that notion, as its only a matter of chance as to what levels where in between the difficulty of the two levels, and it doesnt affect the actually difficulty between them. with that said, i went off ACTUAL DIFFICULTY to determine what was ambitious and what was not. my apologizes if you misconceived that and if i didnt express it well enough, and i hope its not too big a deal, but PLEASE do not think i used list placements to determine what was harder than what. if you want proof that i did not use list placements, just look at tartarus and zodiac- tartarus was literally 1 space above zodiac when verified, but i still considered it ambitious because of the difficulty gap between them. thank you for understanding, guys, and i appreciate all the support on the vid! have a great day

My personal thoughts on all nine levels, and two extra levels that I think need to be mentioned in my honest opinion: Demon Park (not in the video): You're probably thinking: "WHAT?!" Hear me out. Demon Park is nothing more than a low-end easy demon today, but it bears mention that it was verified all the way back in the 1.2 era, back when Cycles and Time Machine were the hardest RobTop levels. I think we can all agree that Demon Park is a huge leap in difficulty from the other levels that were out at the time. Apparently so much so that RobTop created the Demon rating in the level's honor. If literally being the level that inspired the demon rating, as well as being the first level to get the rating, isn't worthy of being an ambitious top 1, then I don't know what is. The Hell Zone (original version) (not in the video): How is this not an ambitious top 1 demon? In the context of 1.3/early 1.4, there was nothing like it or its sister levels. The fact of the matter is that this level was the first extreme demon by our modern standards, and it was so far ahead of its time that the remake is STILL on the extended demons list. You heard me right: a level that dates back to 1.3 is STILL on the demons list even today. That is more than worthy of being considered ambitious in my personal opinion. Unnerfed Stereo Demoness: Someone should do a remake of this with updated visuals in my personal opinion. It's an important piece of Geometry Dash history. It would ultimately get trumped by Silent Club, a much more well-known level, but the fact that the difficulty gap between the two isn't enough for SC to be ambitious is telling of how far ahead of the curve USD was. Seriously, the original Hell Series is nowhere near the difficulty of USD, and those levels are extreme demons in their own right. Element 111 Rg: This level almost holds a sort of mythical status. A level whose reputation amongst those who played it is utterly legendary, yet one that is lost to time forever because no one was able to get full gameplay footage of it. If it wasn't for Stormfly, it might've been forgotten forever, and it wouldn't have been restored as well as it has been. ICE Carbon Diablo X: This level sort of represents a bygone era of Geometry Dash. A simpler time when it was still like the wild west, before the famous players of today began dictating how things were to work. ICDX is the only notable hacked extreme demon from before 1.9 that is still rated in its original state. It was a kingmaker in the ultimate sense, as it was on this level that Riot first showcased his then-unmatched straight-flying abilities to the world and set the stage for the groundbreaking level that was to come from it. The ripples that would occur if this level was removed from the picture stretch far and wide, more so than almost any other level. Theory of Darkness: Interesting how the visions of a community can cause a level to get completely shafted. A level that was rated, a level that absolutely deserved to be considered top 1, a level that was miles ahead of Bloodbath, and not only did the community get it unrated, they outright REMOVED it from the official history of the game. This wasn't the first time that a level got unrated for being obviously hacked, but I think this is the first and only instance where the community actively and maliciously went out of their way to discredit it on a scale of this magnitude. Bloodbath: As nork stated in the video, this is the ultimate top 1 in some regards. The most famous level in Geometry Dash history, a level whose fame transcended the game and into the wider gaming community. When Bloodbath came out, there was absolutely nothing like it. A level created to exploit the abilities of the greatest player the game has ever seen, with the sole purpose of being the undisputed king of demons, by the most powerful members of the community at the time. It stood alone, unmatched for more than a year, bringing clout and fame to those who could topple the challenge. We will rightfully remember this level forever as the level that began the modern era of extreme demons, and the greatest achievement of Riot's legendary career. To quote the page for SCP-2000: "Some things are just this important." Sonic Wave: I don't think ambitious is a strong enough word to describe Sonic Wave. It was obviously created to rival Bloodbath and to be the hardest Nine Circles level, but I don't think anyone, not even Cyclic, understood just how far ahead of the curve Sonic Wave truly was. When sunix ultimately verified the level in late-2016, the level was still the undisputed hardest demon, but the saga that unfolded over the next year was stunning to everyone. Yatagarasu, a level specifically designed to succeed Bloodbath as the king of demons, ultimately proved to be easier than Sonic Wave, and SW would fight off challenges from the likes of Erebus, Digital Descent, and Stalemate Redux to retain the top spot until it was finally dethroned by PPF. Even more than that, the fact that a level from late-1.9 is STILL IN THE TOP 30 FIVE YEARS AFTER IT WAS CREATED is absolutely and truly unbelievable. The gap between Sonic Wave and the other levels from before 2.1 is incomprehensible. Sonic Wave is the ULTIMATE ambitious top 1 extreme demon, and no other level will EVER reach the same level of ambition. Bloodlust: One of the most hyped levels in the game's history. Everyone was waiting for this to be verified, and safe to say after the fact that it didn't let us down, despite the whole BL vs. PPF controversy. After two-and-a-half years, we finally had the true successor to Bloodbath, one that succeeded where Yatagarasu failed. It's interesting that this was achieved by being a reimagining and extension of BB, but it worked nonetheless. Zodiac: Seeing how much of a fluke Zodiac's ambition was, it really goes to show how being rated earlier is all that is needed. I don't have much to say about Zodiac, it's a great level, a three-minute gauntlet of extreme obstacles that is more than worthy of being an ambitious top 1. Tartarus: The current undisputed king of demons. It's extremely weird how this came to be. A level that started in 1.9 as Project Silent Akbar, developed concurrently with Bloodbath to rival ICDX but ultimately falling into a series of deaths and revivals for four years before Riot finally got it to the state that it currently is in today. Like BB, SW, and BL, it was built with a primary goal of being the hardest level ever, and in an unprecedented move, the level's verification was made into a race between top players to see who could beat it first. As someone who knew about this level going all the way back to 2016, seeing this level become what it is today and the unique parameters of the verification makes me happy that I became a casual follower of the game.

26:49 Zodiac was not unrated. Xander updated this level to an almost impossible layout which he blatantly noclipped and speedhacked, which put this level in the legacy list for a few days before robtop reverted it.

Neat video once again, but one thing i want to bring up: you mention level's modern list placements to show some of the jumps taken, but one thing you don't seem aware of is just how much bigger the gap between levels gets near the top of the list, because of how hard it is to release a level in the top 30 or 40. you mention the 100+ spot difference between BB and sonic wave, but if we look at where ICDX is on the legacy list, and knowing that old cata was around the same difficulty, we see that there are even more list spots between old cata and BB than BB and sonic wave. but BB to sonic wave is still the bigger difficulty jump for sure. And also, even though PPF to bloodlust and bloodlust to zodiac have similar list spot gaps, BL to zodiac is much bigger, and both are a lot more comparable to BB to sonic wave than you would expect looking at the list. don't take that as gospel though, i haven't beaten any of those levels, i am basing that off of general trends and opinions of others. Honestly, the creativity of early some extreme/impossible gameplay and the way that dynamic changed as legitimately verified levels that focused more on playability began to take over is pretty cool in itself.

Not sure if i'm missing something but around the time of Late 1.3 Extreme Park was the hardest demon and it was a jump from To The Grave. Not a very substantial one but it woudl eventually get one upped by Heaven and Hell by Roadbose. It contains a ton of semi impossible orb spam and its obviously hacked but there's some other levels like that on this list so was there a rule preventing that from being part of the video? Aside from that I agree with this and I had no idea about Theory Of Darkness

If SWI was to be verified, I wonder how many steps ahead it will be, in my opinion I think it will be around 10-12 steps ahead from Tartarus as there were many verifiers who partake in the verification of SWI specifically 6 verifiers, some who hasn't done it seriously until Xanii made some serious progress, I am not sure which version is harder whether it will be Mycrafted, Rori or Xanii but as much as we want it to be released really quickly we have to see that the verifiers tried to verify that beast of a level. Norkbork any opinions? Im afraid I just started a fight in here lol, also love the videos nork!

You claim that the jumps made in more recent times were « Smaller » than the ones before. However, this is a bit misleading. The gap seems bigger for past levels because enough time has transpired that demons could be worked in between them. PPF and Bloodlust were debated in what should be labeled as the hardest on Pointercrate at the time, and after more levels came in, List Moderators decided that they would fit between the two, which amplifies the scale of the jump according to Pointercrate numbers. TL;DR, the jumps might not seem big today, but as new stuff comes out, they might later. Just a small note, other than that, great video. I didn’t even know about a few of these levels.

Plasma Pulse Finale is not too hz dependant, while bloodlust is fairly easier on 240hz. Thats why some players thought PPF was harder since a lot of people switched to 240hz/fps since Bloodlust relase.

This may seem like a random question, but how good is 60 Hz 7ms against Hard Demons? Because that's what my HP 25-inch 1080p monitor has, and I feel like sometimes the game is either ignoring my inputs, or my taps are lasting longer than it should, especially if it randomly drops frames. (At the time a couple years ago, I did not take quality into consideration.)

SWI is very ambitious, Rori's version was almost twice as hard as Tartarus, Xanii is only slightly nerfing it, but Abyss of Darkness will probably be verified first, Dils Thik has 68% on it rn, AoD and SWI which ever is verified first will be unbelievably ambitious.

I have heard about all levels that were on the list or even mentioned, apart from 2: Ice Carbon Titan X and Theory of Darkness

I would love for a level like bloodbath to be verified and remain unbeaten for almost a full year, with people racing to beat it and loads of contestants to drop the level.

The problem with list gaps is that list gaps are more impressive by how far up they are in the list. For example, a thirty spot list jump from 100 to 70 is far less impressive than a twenty spot list jump from 20 to 1. This is because of the oversaturation of the skill level, from 100 to 70, and not an oversaturation of the skill level from 20 to 1 since there are more upcoming extremes that are low main list/high extended list than high main list (EXCLUDING TOP 1s).

I also expected Crimson Planet to be on the video but it was great anyway.

Both Mycrafted and Nswish said that they dont think Tartaruss that big of a jump in difficulty from Zodiac in their completion description, so i dont think it should really count. Nswish also said in his verfication of Golden that he thought the level was easier than Zodiac, but could also still be harder than Tartarus. All in all, i think it seems like the top 3 is actually real close in difficulty, based on what the people who beat the levels say. Idk if the players have said anything else later though, so i might be spouting old stuff.
