(also sorry for the awful quality in one of the Dolphy Tartarus clips, I don’t know what happened)
Hey guys! In this video, we take a look at the story of one of the most famous levels in GD history; Tartarus by Riot and more. Started way back before the likes of even Bloodbath, this demon began as an entirely separate entity before it went through multiple gameplay and decoration changes and phases to get to the level we know it as today. The level died and was revived numerous times, but overall, the history of this demon is filled with interesting info and legacy that I really enjoyed telling. I also talk about not only the creation of it, but the race to beat it and the impact it had on the community; with all that said, I really hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching :)

The difficulty of Tartarus seems to have been extremely well-planned and the level as a whole was masterfully playtested. I will remember Tartarus for its easier second half lol.

Trust me, nobody knew what tartatus was all the way up untill 2017 when riot announced it. The dollarc video did get some attention but nothing else, and most people from late 1.9 to early 2.1 had never even heard of silent akbar up till that point

Yea the only hint of this level in 1.9 was after Riot’s BB verification video, you could see “Project Silent Akbar” in his levels. But besides the title we had no idea what that was.

This level honestly Defined 2020 for me. It's Been such a massive gamechanger for my life for the last year, it's nice to see a great documentary on it. Every single piece of it's gameplay is perfect, It's legacy is amazing. May I point out, Riot (or any other top player) verifying tartarus back after they beat bloodbath isn't actually that far fetched of an Idea, It's 100% possible and I'd argue this level could have been top 1 since 2.0

In the Bloodbath verification video we can see the 1.9 Projects, Riot had, and the infamous level, that became the #1 demon for almost a year, Bloodbath was literally the 2nd easiest of them (after New Cataclysm) And the funniest thing is that Tartarus (Formerly "Project Silent Akbar") is still not the hardest of them

Fun Fact: If you didn't know, Tartarus is the name of the worst part of the greek hell called the underworld from greek mythology. The underworld is made up of 3 places you go after you die. Elysium, this place is for people who died a warriors death and did something great in their lives. Field of Aphedile (wrong spelling), for the people who lived a normal life and never did something great. And finally Tartarus, for the worst humans, gods and titans and they have to do severe punishments for eternity. Nobody cares but thats a history lesson for ya
