McGonagall: "Well? Is it true?" Harry: "Is what true... professor? McGonagall: "Is it true that you shouted at professor Umbridge?" Harry: Yes. McGonagall: You called her a liar? Harry: Yes. McGonagall: You told her He Who Must Not Be Named is back? Harry: Yes. McGonagall: ... Harry: ... McGonagall: Have a biscuit, Potter.
You didnt include the rest of the conversation. The "Have a biscuit, Potter." part is refering him to sit down and have a biscuit while she explains to him about Umbridge.
In the book when Dumbledore cries in front of Harry and says that he didn’t make Harry a prefect because he didn’t want Harry to have more pressure but on him...best moment in the entire series
@@snakeu3460 I don't think he did, but he felt that with everything he's done ar Hogwarts, he deserved the position. He felt kind of shafted, made worse by the fact Dumbldore was ignoring him.
I mean him becoming the Captain of the quidditch team was something, right? it would have been odd if he was both a prefect and the quidditch captain it would have probably been too much for Rowling to think about when writing the books
Snakeu Ron and Hermione had to go and do a lot of stuff that Harry couldn’t take part in because they were prefects, I think that played a big part in why he was angry about it
Well previously the trio did everything together. In order for Harry to learn from Dumbledore on his own, Rowling probably made it easier for her self and made Hermione and Ron prefects
Screw the cursed child...we need a prequel series covering the rise of Tom riddle into voldemort and the first order of the Phoenix and the battle...ending at lillys sacrifice
Yeah, I was really disappointed when this scene, which (for me) was so important and prominent in the book, was cut short in the movie. Then I watched the deleted scenes as I was sure that they at least would add a longer conversation there. When the scene came when Harry entered the office, I was soo excited... but it lasted like what... a few seconds and Dumbledore saying „Come in“?! Wow. I couldn‘t believe it. That was really the reason why I disliked the 5th film - especially after in GoF, they shortened the scene at the end with Dumbledore and Harry, too. And then in HBP, they again did not show Dumbledore at the Dursleys or in the Broomcupboard. These were really scenes I looked forward to as they would have shown a bit more of their relationship. But that‘s just my opinion. I know that they cannot adapt everything from the books in the movies and they had to choose. It‘s just that I would have chosen differently or at least would have added it as extended edition.
Your Great Wizarding War radio play series fills a need for a lot of fans and I encourage you to finish it. It's a shame so many of the younger generation to appreciate the almost lost art of radio drama. I'm curious about what is going to happen to Luthor Frumentar. He seems lost to time in the books and movies yet he had a role like Snape's role.
I also like during this conversation when Harry shouts “People don’t like being locked up” and Dumbledore covers his face with his hands. After reading Deathly Hallows I’m very sure Dumbledore is thinking of his sister Ariana during that moment.
I think it's brilliant to see you draw something from the series like an important conversation, it shows how much you think outside the box man..excellent video!
Without a doubt my favorite conversation is between Harry and professor Snape in HBP. Snape: "Do you remember me telling you we are practicing non-verbal spells, Potter?" Harry: Yes. Snape: "Yes, sir. " Harry: "There's no need to call me 'sir,' Professor." Hermione: ...."gasped" Ron, Dean, and Seamus:... grinned appreciatively. Snape: "Detention, Saturday night, my office," said Snape. "I do not take cheek from anyone, Potter. . . not even the Chosen One. "
I like the version in the game a little better. Snape: "chatting when you should be in my office? 10 points from Gryffindor." Harry: "what for? I'm not late!" Snape: "I'm not late *sir*." Harry: "No need to call me sir, professor." Snape: "20 points from Gryffindor."
My favorite conversation is from Chamber of Secrets. Harry: “Hang on...where’s Snape”? Ron: “Maybe he’s ill!” Harry: “Maybe he’s left because he missed out on the Defense Against the Dark Arts job again!” Ron : “Or he might have been sacked I mean everyone hates him-“ Snape: “ Or maybe he’s waiting to hear why you two didn’t arrive on the school train.” Harry and Ron: 😱 Me: 😂
One of my favorite scenes that is not in the movie, is the time Dumbledore tells the Dursleys that they treated Harry badly and should be ashamed for it,.
foxforpeace Yeah, I agree! I would have loved it if they kept a few more of those scenes at least as an extended version... also, when Dumbledore says to Harry that he is proud of him in the broomcupboard at the Weasleys.
How dare you!? The best conversation in the whole series is Stan : Chu doin down there for? Harry : I fell over Stan : Whatchufalloverfor? Harry : I didn't do it on purpose
@@VideosOfRandomContext I relly hope a duel took place between you at your primes. It would be interesting to see the face of ppl who say he is stronger.
And yet, despite this being cut from the film, his performance is still great. Just that moment where he yells "LOOK AT ME!!!" alone is a powerful and shocking moment.
I personally like the conversation between Sirius and Harry where Sirius says we both have light and dark inside of us what matters is the part we choose to act on better than this one.
Julian Grazntanis uh yeah it was not the same thing at all, rumble fire was explaining that Harry was the chosen one destined to either kill or die by Voldemort. Sirius was giving more of a pep talk that applys to both the wizarding world and ours
This breakdown was inevitable since apparently no one in the wizarding world knows about PTSD. He spends the entirety of OOTP struggling with it, and nobody seems to give a damn. Does the wizarding world not have therapists? He should have been in intensive therapy since the end of GoF.
Apart from a few tweaks wizards' mentality is like their technology, stuck in the 19th century. They have slavery and racism as well, but in different forms than Muggles had.

I think it's interesting that Dumbledore ignores the potential suffering of thousands out of love for Harry versus the "greater good" mindset that he had when he was young. Harry is like a surrogate son to Dumbledore and he doesn't want him to suffer the fate of Ariana, caught in a crossfire of powers greater than himself.
Its the other way round. He likes Harry but he realises harry might have to suffer so thousands don't. But in the Order of Phoneix, he did care too much about harry in terms of risking others.
One thing every Dumbledore hater overlooks Dumbledore said he understood the pain Harry went through. Harry shouts saying he doesn't have a clue. But Dumbledore does...Dumbledore lost his family as well....his father, mother, sister and brother (in a way)....while Harry lost his family because of Voldemort, he felt immense guilt as we saw him speaking to his parents, Sirius and Lupin near the edge if the forest. Dumbledore also lost his family but unlike Harry, he was partly the cause of it. It was due to his actions that Ariana either directly or indirectly died and that Aberforth rejected him. Imagine the guilt he would have felt for the next century of his life. He dedicated his life to protect people and till his end, like Elphias said, was always ready to extend his hand to anyone. Wherever they came from and whoever they were, just ask Draco Malfoy
I read the books after growing up watching the movie. And this chapter alone really hit a point in my because I lost my dad unexpectedly. Watching Harry be so distraught to where his emotions are out of control just shows how losing someone so close to you can really affect you.
This is why I can't take people seriously when they say that the Harry Potter series has no value or has bad writing. I won't argue that it is the greatest thing ever. But J.K. Rowling really tapped into some very real emotions and struggles with this series and portrays/handles most of it very well.
This really explains what I've been trying to say to every Dumbledore basher out there, he is indeed flawed and he did so many wrong things but cares for Harry. He really does. Did he do right by him? Maybe not, but he thought he did and maybe that doesnt matter to Harry but it matters when we look at what kind of man he was. I hate the fact that so many in this fandom are throwing Dumbledore under the buss for caring about Harry but glorify Snape for.. Well its debatable, but love for Lily. Both men did wrong because of love, but if you ask me Dumbledore at least tried to be good meanwhile Snape just went around pitying himself because he was friendzoned and because James grew up when he couldnt.
Perhaps one great truth is that we wrong our loved ones when we try too hard to protect them from pain, emphasis on too hard. We end up with emotionally brittle people who can't suffer the slightest disappointment without falling apart.
Yea 100 percent I agree in the beginning snape told voldermort to spare only lily he didn’t give a fuck about her child or James and dumbledore called him out for it saying how he disgusted him for it I don’t hate snape anymore but I still he was a shitbag who did a good thing but doesn’t outweighs the horrible way he treated Harry how much he made suffer and how he spoke terrible things about his dad in front of him knowing how James saved him twice and all the bad things snape did
I still find it amazing that Harry was trashing Dumbledore's office and screaming that he wanted to die, and yet Dumbledore stayed incredibly calm. Shows how wise he becomes in spite of the mistakes of his youth.
I liked the one in chamber of secrets when Mr. Weasley tells Ginny "Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain."
This channel inspired me to read the Harry Potter books. I had watched all the movies but did not realize how much I was missing from the books. In fact, it was the video of Voldemort's background that flipped the switch. Looking forward now to read them again. :]
Till this conversation happened, we all readers/viewers regarded Dumbledore as someone who is perfect, wise elder who doesn't make mistakes. But after this conversation we came to know he is someone who also makes mistakes like the rest of us and isn't perfect.
Both are amazing. One explains the origins and the other the background and the plan. Order conversation is emotional and difficult. The other is warm and fulfilling. These conversations are something I always reread every time I read the books. So much info. So much emotion. Wonderful writing. Too bad the movies screwed them up.
Cole Thompson I totally agree. I would have loved it so much if they gave those scenes more time and thought. Now all I can do is reread the chapters again and again and leave it to my imagination. It‘s still sad.
From the book : " Now I am going to bed before anyone of you comes up with another idea to get us killed or worse ...... expelled." From the Movies : George Weasley : "MORNING" Hit like if anybody remembers
I'm surprised you didn't mention the bit where Dumbledore says that it makes all the difference in the world if you *choose* to take down your enemy or if you're just pushed onto the battlefield against your will. Bc in the end, understanding this difference set Harry's mind on hunting Voldemort down. I mean, that was in this conversation here, right? I was really waiting on it.
That would have been my first guess when I saw the title of the video too, but this bit actually takes place in the Half-Blood Prince, after they finally get Slughorn’s memory (I believe)
Dumbledore should have been more honest with him, through out the whole series of books. This conversation should have been in the movie. The movies dont do the books justice
My two favorite lines (movies) are both from Sirius: 1. PP: “What would you have done, Sirius?” SB: “I would’ve died! I would’ve died rather than betray my friends!” 2. SB (to Harry): “Nice one, James!”
While this book isn't one of my favorite, this chapter was one of, if not my favorite in the whole series. The anger Harry shows. yelling and throwing things. His anger at Dumbledore. Dumbledore staying calm throughout and explaining everything. And the Dumbledore shedding a tear at the end. Amazing.
The conversation is a great scene in the book! The exposition really makes sense, but I do feel it was a little too drawn out. But it was a great scene altogether! Great video again, Morgan, and Happy New Year!
Oh I disagree. It wasn’t drawn out. This needed to happen. I think it was perfect. I respect your opinion. But this was my favorite chapter in the whole series. Harry should yell and rage.
Mike DiRado I respect the fact that you love it. In fact, after watching this video, I got out the book and reread the chapter in 15 minutes. I totally forgot how much I loved it, and I came to appreciate it so much more!
Omg, I was just thinking about this, because so much information is given and why Dumbledore did what he did. I still think they could have been better in the movies.

This conversation is one of my favorite moments in the whole series!! Absolutely the best part of Order of the Phoenix! I’ve cried my eyes out reding this chapter..♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Maiq The Truther talking about in the regard as to where barley anybody talked about James it always Lily it being Lily’s love that protects Harry or how the only times James was important in the books were 3 and 5 other than that it’s been “lily this” “lily that” and how like everyone who I have ever met is a Snape lover and hates James cause he’s a bully and even Harry has some doubts about him and lily herself too she didn’t like him for what the first 5 years of Hogwarts maybe 6 but hey that’s just my opinion not trying to start an argument and
This chapter in the book was so heartbreaking and i totally agree with dumbledore when he says something along the lines of I've never seen someone burdened with as many things as you harry. And that is soooo sad cuz he is literally a 15 year old who's been through more tragedy and trauma than many people have in their entire lifetime and despite all that he still manages to be loving and selfless and seeing him break down like this is heartbreaking 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔.
This is why Order of the Phoenix is my favorite book. It was the first one I read, and it made a huge impact. And this conversation was just... I cry every time I read it. Almost forget how good it is. And it really explains how the series will turn. I love it.
@@cookingsauce8274 I had already watched the 4 first movies. And I wanted to know what happened next. And since I struggle with reading, my mum read it to me before I fell asleep at night. So it made it extra special. But I read book 6 and 7 all by my self though.. And years later, I listened to all of them on audiobook. I've always been a huge fan, but reading has made it difficult. Don't know what I would have done without audiobooks
Most important conversating in Harry Potter imo happens in HBP - when Dumbledore makes Harry realise what the prophecy actually is - it's not something that will Harry has to fulfill because the prophecy simply must true, but rather because it stems from Harry's character. It re-contextualises the prophecy, and is easily the most memorable/impactful conversation in the series.
Harry, Ron and Hermione are, in my opinion, the Deathly Hallows. Harry - Elder Wand - Battle skills, strength and will-power. Ron - Resurection Stone - Courage and enlightenment during his dark and challenging times; provides encouragement in his quirky way. Hermione - Invisibility Cloak - Keeping themselves safe using her extensive knowledge on spells and enchantments. This is how I interpret the Deathly Hallows. Together, they were "Masters of Death". 😍🤗
I though it was Voldermort - elder wand - His strength, power and battle/ duelling skills Snape - Resurrection stone - His love for lily and his desire to bring her back. Harry - invisibility cloak - His ambition to protect others whilst in danger, also because he has the invisibility cloak. Death - Dumbledore
All throughout the order of the Phoenix I was going to cry I felt so bad for harry and understood his pain, I never had been through what Harry went through but I could tell how much everything every problem effected Harry so much and it was so hard for him.
You are truly a great storyteller. You give so much to your viewers - such as myself- that we can't help coming back for more. Thank you Movie Flame for continuing the world and stories of Harry Potter to all of its devoted fans.
I want to add one more thing. It’s my favorite because Harry snapped. Which I am amazed it took this long. I’m happy he yelled. And broke stuff. After all this. Harry didn’t pick this. Honesty would have been better.
My favorite part of the conversation was when Dumbledore said to Harry that if he was to be attacked by Harry, he would like to have thoroughly earned it. And then when Harry starts looking for more things to destroy Dumbledore says keep doing it oh, I have too many possessions anyway. Always thought that was pretty funny
There are three most important points about this conversation. 1. The irony that Voldemort tried to do what he thought was fulfilling the prophecy but he did not even know what it said, and by doing so, he chose his nemesis and made the prophecy about Harry. It is yet another example of how he acts without fully understanding the issue (a bit like Harry but Voldemort has utmost disdain for the possibility of being thwarted). 2. Dumbledore suffered from having the burden of knowing the future and attempting to change it in his favour. The truth was, he cannot predict the future so he has to leave a majority of his plan down to chance. He hoped that Harry would grow up healthy and he hoped that Harry would thrive. He said that a flaw in his plan was that he cared too much about Harry. To the point that he prioritised Harry's sense of wellness over his master plan. This might not have been a flaw at all because I also think that Harry at the age of 11 to 13 was too young to know his future. However, Dumbledore should have told him the truth at the end of book 4. Not once in his speech that Dumbledore admits that his plan was wrong. He instead admits that it is hard for him to put people through pain and it is stressful to plan for something he does not know. He does, however, admit that he was wrong to appoint Snape to teach Harry Occlumency. He concluded by saying Harry did not need to learn Occlumency at all. He was afraid Voldemort would possess Harry but as proven later, Harry's love for Sirius prevented Voldemort from possessing him. This rendered Dumbledore's attempts to distance himself from Harry, useless. In which case, he admitted to a second fault. The first, allowing Snape to teach Harry and second, distancing himself from Harry. 3. The power of love is possibly a real thing and not just symbolic. Dumbledore mentions a room in the Department of Mysteries that Harry was not able to open. It contains a force that no one has ever understood and Dumbledore says Harry possesses it to surprising quantity. It is obviously love. It was also love that protected Harry from Voldemort when he was a baby and it continued to protect him in the form of his mother's blood (her sister).
I really cried when I'm reading this,it shows how much harry has suffered and the loss of sirius, it tells how much he cared for him and his loss had affected him deeply😭😭
It’s funny I never see anyone talking about this conversation it’s like everyone forgot it ever happened even though it’s one of if not the most important scenes in the book and one of my favorites. I love how she chose to revel the prophecy
Excellent video. This is the only HP related channel I am subscribed to and the only channel that I consistently and purposefully watch videos with identical subject matter to something I have watched recently from another creator. I do this because I know your videos will have information and insight that is unique and very well throughout and that sir is the biggest content I can give to any content creator. 👍
No this is the most important conversation Mconagol: is it true you shouted at proffesor Umbridge? Harry: yes Mconagol: you called her a liar? Harry: yes Mconagol: You told her “he who must not be named” is back? Harry: yes Mconogal: have a biscuit Potter. Harry: ... Like if you agree (pls dont go crazy)
"The odd thing is, Harry," he said softly, "that it may not have meant you at all. Sibyll's prophecy could have applied to two wizard boys, both born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course, was you. The other was Neville Longbottom."
It just impresses me so much that every single conversation and incident of the Harry Potter series is so significant! Every single piece falls into place as you understand the entire series. I am so proud to be a Potterhead!🤩🤩
I've always felt the reason for this is first, a callback to their duel in Goblet of Fire. And to demonstrate both characters major differences Harry under no circumstances wants to kill anyone, not even Voldemort, he's even shunned by Lupin for this earlier in the book telling him if he wouldn't kill his enemies to at least stun them. Voldemort on the other hand is more than willing to kill and get what he wants, he has no respect for anyone and sets to destroy anyone in his way and that's why his spell is obviously the killing curse. Everyone at this point had come to realize Expelliarmus as Harry's signature move, to disarm and end conflict. This spell is ultimately the move that ends up being Voldemort's downfall even before their final battle. Harry's destiny was set up with the prophecy with it saying, "neither could live while the other survives." Harry accepts his destiny before this and willingly walks to his death but due to being a horcrux did not actually die, only the part of him that was Lord Voldemort's severed soul did, so having not technically died Voldemort was not the rightful owner of the deathly hallows. Harry did not kill Voldemort, Voldemort did. And how that occurs is because of the Elder Wand which we are told is one of the deathly hallows, the nearly unbeatable wand. Draco Malfoy disarms Dumbledore at the top of the astronomy tower, so he becomes the owner. Severus Snape kills Dumbledore a few moments later, and hence it seems that Snape becomes the owner of the Elder Wand. Which was Dumbledore's plan as he fully trusted Snape, this not happening ended up preventing Voldemort from gaining ownership of the wand. Dumbledore's wand is placed inside of his grave which voldemort takes believing that if he kills the new master of it he will gain control over its powers and become unstoppable. Harry disarms Draco in the Malfoy Mansion. Harry Potter becomes and is still the owner of the Elder Wand despite Draco not having it in his possession at that time. Voldemort kills Snape using Nagini thinking that he would get the ownership of the Elder Wand. However he was not aware that Malfoy had disarmed Dumbledore with the same spell that would ultimately kill him. In the final duel between Harry and Tom, The killing spell travels back towards Tom because the wand doesn’t act against his rightful owner, Harry Potter. Killing Tom Riddle in process by his own spell. Harry Potter used the spell that won him the wand and the wand itself would not destroy it's master, Harry could've used any spell really but his signature plays more into his character, he doesn't want to fight or kill anyone, that is to me the one major thing he possesses that Voldemort didn't, love. Love would be to me the only reason harry chooses not to kill people and that move being his signature to me is the embodiment of that. To quote Ollivander, "The wand chooses the wizard" and in this case it wasn't Voldemort.
What's so amazing about this chapter is the foreshadowing. Dumbledore keeps talking about the flaw in his grand plan. The flaw that he has to condemn Harry to murder or death. And Chapter 36 of Deathly Hallows, basically the last chapter where Harry does the murder, is called the Flaw in the Plan.
This video is so good I created a special playlist for it and other exception Harry Potter videos. To me the most important part of it was explaining why Harry Potter was left with the resentful Dursleys. Dumbledore should have gone to Number Four Privet Drive and sat all three Dursleys down with Harry. "I've already had this discussion with Harry but I want him with you while I explain it to the three of you:" "I never wanted to cause you hurt and I'd hoped Dudley would have been a Muggle-born wizard. When it was apparent he was a Muggle I hoped he and Harry would non-the-less be friends." "Petunia I know you feel bad because you do not share Lily's gift. However Harry being present in this house with you does do magic." "Harry have you ever wondered why Death Eaters never come calling at your Aunt's home? It if because of the magic your mother did for you. There are still Death Eaters out there. With Harry being here a few weeks of the year your hone is invisible to Death Eaters. They can't even find it."
i can't wait for you to hit 1M subs this year. your channel is one of my favorites on youtube. it's the reason i got so into harry potter to the extent that i did. thank you for the entertainment and knowledge and effort you put into your videos. happy new year!
You. Are. The. Best. Harry Potter. RU-vidr. EVER. You understand the books perfectly and have good judgment. I literally have seen videos saying Peter petigrew is stronger than HARRY POTTER! I think that you deserve much more that what you have on RU-vid and you explain all these things like the plot holes and the stories perfectly. Oh and you’re videos are very pleasing to watch! 😃⚡️
Of all the Biblical imagery apparent in Harry Potter, I'm surprised how nobody points out the similarities Harry has with Elijah in the 19th chapter of 1 Kings. In 1 Kings, Chapter 19, Elijah is at his lowest point, having fled into the wilderness for his life, and is openly angry with God, someone he had clear communication with. Elijah even goes so far as to say: "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors." And twice in that chapter he says: "I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too." and God doesn't respond in kind to Elijah. Dumbledore himself is very understanding of Harry lashing out at him and doesn't respond in kind. At least that's what I took away from that scene in the book. What do you make of this parallel?
Amazing video!! It bothers me soooo much when people say that Dumbledore just manipulated Harry from the start, never actually cared about him, left him in an abusive household just because, and that Dumbledore is the real villain of the series. Clearly those people haven't read this book, particularly this scene.
After watching Order of the Phoenix maybe 30+ times throughout my youth (honestly not an exaggeration) and only just now reading the book, it hits so different. This chapter alone gave me CHILLS, like he said in the video so many questions were answered. Reading that part about Kreacher betraying Sirius was so crazy to me, because nothing like that was ever mentioned in the movies. Sirius’s death could’ve been prevented in so many ways. Everything Snape did to protect Harry leading up to the battle of the department of mysteries. Dumbledore’s obvious shame, man😭. Anyways I could go on, I love these videos and I love the Harry Potter universe.
This has always been my favourite moment in the whole books, best writing in the whole series, Im so upset it wasn't included, it brings so much more depth to Harry's charecter
I have to say that ever since I've found your channel, I have found your voice very charistmatic and relaxing. It's perfect for explaining stuff like this in different fandoms. Thank you for making these videos!
I am so glad I found your channel...Your explanations are so helpful! Sadly I never got the opportunity to read the books and starting watching the movies when they first came out, but literally just finished watching the series in the last month or so...and now have been watching all of them over and over, but as we all know the movies don't come close to the books and I was always so confused.. I really need to read these books now!
