+Nightwing20 Adam tells people to find Jesus quite a number of times. It's pretty much a joke, I think. "Finding Jesus" is kind of a metaphor for "getting right." But while it is a joke, I think Adam thinks he'd rather these people find closure through religion if it's available instead of just being tortured with failure and regret and emotional distress.
good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea, good idea
Dr. Drew and adam arent needlessly rude, they are dealing with the dredge of the earth and becoming frustrated in the process. I didnt hear anything that sounded rude from either of them. If anything, they should have straight up told this woman that she is way too screwed up to even attempt to raise a child, and that anything she does is going to result in the child's own lack of self esteem and sense of self, at least until she gets her own life and issues in order.
The worst part is I don't think she's just making this up for her call, I think it's a true call about lies that she tells people around her and herself in her actual life. This is the grown up version of the girl in high school who told everyone that lied about being raped - and I don't mean having consensual sex and saying it was rape, I mean completely making it up. I could be totally wrong and this is just the feeling I get, but she needs to be a victim to justify the way her life is.
Wow, the title did not disappoint. Cancer, rape, doesn't know to call things a forklift, police corruption, 5 year old daughter being raped, Adam telling somebody to find Jesus... I'm getting chills from having listened to this
Sadly there's a lot of inconsistencies in her story. Saying that SHE pressed charges doesn't make sense, only the district attorney can file charges. And it doesn't matter if her town is small, rape charges wouldn't be filed by them, like county or state police.
oh for real? holla kid, im in the montrose too!! but yeah, houston cops are vile. "to protect and serve ...1400 Lubbock"!!! the real problem lies with our district attorney, and state attorney general. both offices are actually unconstitutional because they stand as institutions to protect the govt against injuries it commits against us. but those two mf-ers are psychopathic as all hell. just pure evil. both of them. I was soooo happy when I learned the previous DA died of cancer :-)
This will sound mean, but.. We all know someone like her, no matter what happened to you, she's going to tell you something worse that happened to her. One-uppers are exhausting to talk to lmao
Back in the Poorman days, there was humor in the show, but not the vitriol and condescension. Dr. Drew used to be the image of an ideal doctor, but in the last ten years, he has also become excessively mean spirited and needlessly rude. I understand the reason for the frustration/anger, but if he can't deal with it, then he should do something else.
I did notice in the 2002/3ish episodes he comes off short, quickly annoyed, and irritated with a lot of callers but usually gave a good effort to help every caller
Something a bit off about this caller. One would expect a woman with this kind of story to be sobbing a lot and seem very emotional, but she seems very controlled. No mention of any of her other female companions like a mother or sister. And her reason for calling seems so trivial compared her whole story, she called in to ask what she should tell her 3 year old son who asks about his father.
+Racye1911 No, The show is real people. You just don't realize how stupid people really are. This is a perfect clip to show how dumb people really are as well as how well Drew and Adam work with each other. A classic Loveline call.
For the people in the comments saying this must be fake, congratulations you are part of the reason why rapists dont get convicted. This happens all the time and people say oh they are lying. Thats part of the problem gaslighting victims.
find jesus christ sweetheart. god wants you to have that baby. sure. sure thing kid. well, you did as great of a job as I did. and it was all shit! oh. You expect me to set everything straight? Make things right? Well, ok. Sure thing. I'll be over there in a heart beat.
Is that an attempt at an argument or are you incapable of that level of maturity, so you decide to toss out ad hominem attacks because you can't quite formulate a rational argument? But by all means don't let me dissuade you from refusing to think, but rather relying on your emotions: "Arg me mad, but not sure why, me think greg is dum dum, but why? who cares i call him stupid. case settled" Was that the cognitive event that went down?
Greg Huffman You're the one that is unable to make sense of a comedian that is an atheist jokingly telling a complete loser to find Jesus. You know that Adam is an atheist. You know that he's a comedian. But somehow you can't complete the great leap forward in your head and realize that he's joking. You said something that sounds completely stupid to anyone that will read it. You could have done yourself some good to make any kind of point instead of just saying "I don't like that the comedian guy said something that would indicate that he isn't serious, I don't understand that."
