BLTV Highlights the big title fight between the undefeated 'Pretty Boy' Josh Kelly & the rugged brawler David Avanesyan. Kelly had a lot of hype leading up to this contest, but Avanesyan wasn't fazed by the occasion
Josh Kelly is a class geezer. I used to train where he currently trains. Ended up bumping into him (not too long after he booked the Avanesyan fight) and must of spoke to him anywhere between 30-60 minutes. He was just giving advice and spoke about life etc. thought to myself what a tip top bloke. wasn't until the next few times i went in to train he remembered my name said hello. Considering how busy he was and how much he was in the spotlight just showed to me how humble and down to earth he is. Proper geezer and i wish him all the best in his career.
@@semyaza555 I would rather Bud retire me for a world title challenge than Euro Avenesyan. Kelly is finished after that loss.. never be the same again.
@@murdock6450 Stop talking. This is the problem with boxing. Most fighters lose - esp. if they fight tough opposition. And then they learn from that loss and come back better - or, you know, just get a matchup that's better stylistically.
Glad you covered this fight! I’m a big Kelly fan, and he’s come back stronger since this fight. Kelly said he struggled a lot with his mental health around the time of the Ava fight, and now you can see his cardio is a lot more improved and he’s more calculated in his flashiness. I got high hopes for him even if his power isn’t ever gonna be on a Wilder level.
oh really? i never heard that he was struggling, i just thought he kinda disappeared, which i thought was a shame bc im a big fan aswell, good to hear hes doing better
Kelly wasted a lot of energy early in this fight, you can tell he thought he could get him out of there early. If he picked his shots more carefully and economically he might have been able to edge out a decision.
As a casual boxing fan I remember when his fights were really going viral and I've wondered what happened to him. So thanks for this and hopefully you'll make another video about his progress in the future!
I think he fought pretty decent plus the cut on his ear could have affected his mental state in the fight. I dont think he is a bad boxer, can come back strong not hype at all.
Not sure about bouncing back. Since '22 he's fought 5 times and not fought since last year in fights that weren't really televised and fighting guys ranked between 80th to 700th in the world. So this bounce back isn't happening any time soon.
There are only 3 boxing channels worth their salt on YT. For excellently written analysis from knowledgeable creators: BLTV Modern Martial Artist For memes: Propa Boxing
I enjoy your content, but it has been multiple videos where I cannot find the music credits. Are you just not posting them or I'm missing them? 00:00 is Alfaxysm Software - Digital Reality Signal from the Crystallomania album I'm interested in the music you used for your outros on BLTV Classic, without having to dig for hours to find the source.
@@kissPANCRASION not everyone he’s extremely talented but until he shows he can do things he does with higher level of competition then who knows but I see a very strong case for it being deja vu
Great video, this channel needs a lot more subs and views. Pretty hard for Kelly (or any fighter) to keep sticking and moving flawlessly for 12 rounds, sooner or later you're gonna be standing in front of your opponent and a very strong, tough guy like Avanesyan will make you pay.
Hopefully 🙏🏽 he has a David Haye like career, Haye had a early loss to Carl “the truth” Thompson but bounced back and became a cruiserweight ATG and heavyweight champion hopefully Josh Kelly can do the same since he had the same trainer as David Haye, Adam Booth who can guide him through this.
I think the more knowledgeable boxing fan saw this coming. Prior to this fight, there were rumours Kelly and Adam Booth didn't want this fight. Especially after it initially got cancelled.
like the content and respect the amount of work you put into this but I dont agree withe the "humbled" label for this. from what you laid out, he didnt seem disrespectful at all and seems like a humble fighter already... I wouldn't even call that showboating either. it's just a flow state style with a little bit of extra put on it, but his fundamentals and skill level match that. and this was a GOOD fight with both having their moments until he his corner threw the towel in. respect to both fighters, but where's the humbling part coming from?
Josh Kelly is actually a nice lad conducts himself well and got plenty of Talent still got plenty in his tank in the boxing World. Don't see why people would hate on Kelly respect to him
@@gettingcheeky6597 I was reading somewhere how prospects always caught out by unknown Mexicans because Mexico doesn't have a well defined amateur system and their pro records can be deceptive. An 8-4 record in Mexico is different to an 8-4 in UK (and USA probably) because they are learning on the job.
Low hands its cool but if you are getting punched and you are tired just put your ego aside and put your hands high to protect yourself and keep fighting.
Gets humbled? Showboater? Its a style of fighting designed to open up an opponents defences and fustrate them into making a mistake so the can land good shots on them (make em miss, make em pay). Its not about disrespect, it requires extreme skill, speed and reflexes but it can be risky.
"Bounce back" Since '22 he's fought 5 times and not fought since last year in fights that weren't really televised and fighting guys ranked between 80th to 700th in the world. So this bounce back isn't happening any time soon.
Avanesyan was more battle hardened and experienced against tough opposition but Kelly is a great technical fighter, he's still a novice when it comes to competing against real trialed and tested veterans
Kellys big issue and a big issue with alot of booth trained fighters is wasted movement, all the flash head and foot movement is great for 4 or 5 rounds, but you cant do it for 12. Especially when your doing it while the other person is out of range. Look at the best guys, canelo, crawford etc, no wasted movement.
"The night the matrix showboater was humbled" See, this is the problem with modern day boxing and how the public view it. Here's a kid in only his 12th pro fight taking a massive step up in class vs a 30 fight european title holder dead in his prime. Kid still takes early rounds off the champ, totally outboxes him in patches and even hurts him bad but eventually, the champ shows his experience at this level, walks him down and kelly comes up short. Kelly gets called an overrated hype job for losing meanwhile Avanesyan doesn't get the credit he deserves for the win. Avanesyan then goes on to come up short against arguably the best pound for pound fighter on the planet in Terrance Crawford so now, in the eyes of the casual fight fan, both of these men are just a pair of bums who couldn't cut it 🤦♂️ and people wonder why it takes mega money to get fights made these days.
Boots is levels above Kelly. He'd have murdered Avanesyan. The thing is that skill will take you quite far, but you'll reach a point where everybody also has it. You need grit, cardio and enough power to keep your opponent off of you
if this was supposed to show him up.. it didnt lol. im even more impressed how well he did in the first few. a cut on the face is one thing, but having the back of the head split open leaking down your back might have a different effect lol. dude is a warrior with skill. just needed a little more control over energy use
lol hardly the case. Had a really bad cut on his head that was dripping blood, which changed the fight. Up till that point avenisiyan was being taken to school.
and people where shitting on crawford for taking this fight against Avenesyan, crawford showed levels..Can't count out Kelly though, he clearly has talent..Wanna see him match up with Michel Soro or even a fellow contender Charles Conwell or even an Erikson lubin to see where he is at now
