Not really. As said Jones was a phenom at this time. Hobo was 101 underdog and went a long distance to the 11th round. As Jones said not many could do that. 100% respect to Hobo he even started showboating which surprised Jones.

I've been watching boxing for a long, long time and even watch historical footage. For me, JRJ is the best fighter I've seen in the ring. For over a decade he was neigh untouchable to the point that he would play semi-pro basketball and then box that evening. The move from HW, while amazing for someone who started at MW, robbed him of his speed. Robinson was amazing, as were Ali and even old timers like Pep. But RJR was in a class by himself. My all time dream fight - RJR vs. Hagler at 160.
You may be a very good street fighter but when you step into the professional boxing ring it's another world. You can see how it's an art form. It's like watching a martial artist perform kata. It looks great and teaches you basics, but you have to take it up a notch in a real fight.
Roy was amazing. Made me laugh though when Calzaghe was showboating against him and the American commentators didn't like it. Roy didn't hesitate to humiliate his opponents.
I hadn't seen this fight before, so, based on the title of the video, I was expecting an upset of some description, or even a flash knockdown by the other guy, but this was just a straight beat-down!

That hand speed never came back after he went up and won the heavyweight belt. Unfortunately he was never one to protect himself so he took a lot of punishment at the end.
roy's lead straight right was lightning fast. he was a real master of distance control, he was always to far to get hit and close enough to deliver a heavy punch.

Who is the referee in this match? He should have called it when Hall wasn't responding after a few punches by Jones. That's ridiculous, even the commentators said it was a bloodletting.
