Ive made Dubbing Brushes with other Dubbing Brush Tables before, but this is the easiest and pretty convenient.
You would already have the hook in the vise, midway through the fly simply do a couple half hitches and cut your thread out, run the wire through the hook eye and move the table in to place and bam .... making a dub brush mid fly that can be used immediately.
I don’t have a lot of space at my tying desk so normally I have to keep the dub brush tables somewhere else like the garage or the kitchen (when the wife is out of town otherwise she would kill me 😂). So many times when experimenting with patterns and colors I attempt to make composite dub loops to create new colors and flowy bodies. This accessory for the Norvise allows me to be more precise and creative making a dubbing brush that will be both durable and as uniform as I take the time to make it.
Give it a try. The accessory can be purchased here: www.jsflyfishi...
The Recipe:
Hook: Ahrex TP615 size 1
Wire: Stainless Steel wire medium .006
Materials: it’s up to you. For this brush we used rabbit and Cohens carp dub
Wax: Low tack wax
