Great timing on this video, I had both in my shopping cart debating which way to go. This pushed me to the Nano V2, for this build it'll be worth the slight weight penalty. 👍

I'm installing this into my whoop as I type this! I was looking for a reference to what top and bottom of the camera is, and based on a quick shot of your mobula 6 (?), I saw it looks like the bump of the MIPI cable is at the top.. so that's great to know! And as a result, I stumbled across an EXCELLENT review that tells me things I didn't know. Thank you!

Glad it helped! On this camera you can also flip the image in the camera settings, so there isn’t really an up or down. That can help some depending on your build.

@@ATXAirborne ooh, yes, good to know! There’s no vids I’ve found about installing hd-zero into a quad and that is a video that should exist. I still can’t figure out if you need tx, rx, AND smart audio, or if you can skip SA. This info about the camera helps a lot tho.. thx!

Well done on the review. Just a thought I’d like to know exactly what size lens it does take and see some mods to the lens to see if that addresses any of the issues you mentioned. I know you said something about it possibly being m8 but still lens mods are fun and easy Anyhow thanks again!

Great video. One thing I missed: Lite lens was quite loose on almost all my 4 I bought. I needed to fix focus and secure the lens with some electric liquid tape. Maybe you could make a video on adjusting focus next? I noticed that it's not that easy to do. May help others as well!

Hey man thanks for the video. I recently got this camera on a meteor 75 and I can't seem to switch it from 16:9 to 4:3 mode. When I do the stick command, it says repower vtx and after I do that, it is still in 16:9. Any suggestions? Thanks

Always detailed reviews 👍, by the way when I try to change aspect ratio in my nano v2 (with whoop vtx) it doesn't change to 4:3 and it says "need to repower vtx". I saw in your video (at 6.28) also when you change aspect ratio it says "need to repower vtx". Anyhow your aspect ratio changed. How did you do it? What did you do when it says "need to repower vtx"? Really appreciate if you can help

Repowering the VTX just means unplugging the battery from the drone and plugging it back in. After you do that, it should change the aspect ratio. Note that most goggles will not immediately show you a different aspect ratio. You’ll either need to change a setting in the menu of the HDZero VRX, or in the goggle menus. If you’re using something like Skyzone goggles, they support 4:3 over HDMI so you’d want to change your goggle display settings to 4:3. If you’re using Fatshark goggles, most of them only support 16:9 over hdmi. So for that case, the VRX menu has an “aspect ratio” menu with several different options. These options basically send a 4:3 camera image as a 16:9 video (black bars on the sides) so the Fatshark goggles can display it. I hope this helps point you in the right direction - it’s a little confusing at first, for sure.

Thank you for all the info, I'm new to fpv and I want to ask if it would be possible to use the HDZERO with my diatone 369 and skyzone cobra x googles?

You should be able to. When I first got HDZero, I used the Skyzone cobra x. You’ll have to figure out a way to mount the HDZero VRX, though, because the included mount won’t work. I used a 3D printed mount, but you could also use something like Velcro to secure the mount onto the front of the goggles.

Amazing review!! One question, I don’t have that 16:9 full sensor setting in the aspect ratio menu and I’m on latest firmware. 🤔 also I can’t switch to 4:3 on any of mine

I got the same problem. Did you find a solution? When I try to change aspect ratio to 4:3 it says vtx need to repower. I reconnect the battery and nothing happened

Would you go with the lite bundle or nano v2 and reg whoop vtx for an 85 mm whoop ?

On an 85mm whoop I’d probably lean toward the nano v2 for camera, but I’d still use the whoop lite vtx since it soft mounts. You can mix and match cameras and VTXes.
