When I was a kid visiting mexico, I tried paying the taco man for my food upfront and he insisted that I pay when I filled up. There was no servers, either. My dad went up at the end and asked for la cuenta. The man did a mental tally of everything we had and charged accordingly. No hassle

Yes, you got that right!!!! Mexico is more family oriented and most Mexicans mind their own business. Oh, YOU must visit the USA and you'll have people calling the Police if your dog is in the car AND if you walk the dog without a leash, etc. Rules for everything. I posted a picture of my dog on the local neighbor site and they knew what golf hole the dog was on and someone checked the photo and commented that it was two years ago. How insane!!!!! THAT is why I love Mexico better! Freedom like it was when I was a kid and not with everyone telling everyone else what to do. You did the right thing moving to Mexico Jose. I'd be there except my house is HUGE and it's difficult to sell in this market, apparently. i SPEND all my time maintaining the house!!! Best wishes, Dennis

Hola Buenos Tardes José. I remember one of your earliest videos 5 years ago when you went for a 30 minute walk to downtown Merida You va went going to centro talking about the freedom of movement you loved You weren’t getting harassed by anyone. It was a classic video. I’ve been watching ever since. I haven’t seen all your videos but 6 years ago was watching vicariously. Your first couple apartments there You are classic. Love your channel

You're the man!! 👏👏Your horse initially caused all kinds of havoc!! Biting others, insisting itself as the leader, forcing others to get out of the way, and not giving you a very smooth ride. I have riden horses, not an expert, and your horse would have stressed me out. 🐎🐎You did awesome!! I would have been begging for Lambo (sp.) 🐴🐴

A horseback ride like that in the states, not far from a major metro area, would probably cost $50 for the half hour. Complete with the “would you like to leave a tip”

Just gotta say, the reason for the litigation is to incentivize safety. Without it people and companies are incentivized to put profit over safety. Example... a story right now about tanker trucks moving food liquids (soy sauce, veg oil) in tanks recently used for chemicals and wastewater without washing them out first, because it saved money.

You are a breath of fresh air! Another spot on video that says it like it is. Generally speaking, Mexicans are happier than Americans. They are not suffocated with all of the BS that the average American is subjected to. Americans tend to willfully take on the prison mentality more readily and you wonder why the country is going down the gurgler. The current of social revolution in the USA is well on its way and there may be a glimmer of hope for recovery, but in the meantime, people are fed up and angry. So while the people are pissed , there is always the helping hand of big pharma generously extending its hand filled with the bounty of anti depressants and other potions that feed right back into the revenue model of control. Seriously, strife is good business. So while the Americans freak out about the world around them, Mexicans live uncluttered lives focusing on things of value that matter. Freedom in the USA is a pipe dream for many as they seem too busy following orders and policing others. Is Mexico really that much better? It is not perfect, but in that imperfection lies a beauty, an innocence , a wonder , a joy and celebration of simple things that has mostly been forgotten in American Culture. May there still be hope for the Northern People and may they rekindle what is lost and look to Mexico as a shining example of what is possible. Appreciate you Jose!

@JoseArteagaTravels

The water situation is fine there from my understanding. We filmed this in Early April right before the rainy season. Most of the area is dry because winter was only over a few months prior and its normally dry around Winter/Spring. Also it is unseasonably Hot throughout all of Mexico this year because it is another Dry El Niño Year. But as far as I knew there were no water shortages as in other parts of Mexico

When I go to Mexico for vacation, I experience real freedom. Which leads me to believe that the real freedom might be something that Americans will have a hard time accepting. We in the USA like rules and regulations that control citizens. This could be a reason why some people will never be able to live in Mexico. My two cents.

When i make my final move back to Mexico in a year or so i have a diverse crypto portfolio and if any of my crypto bags ever explode in value after i immigrate, it would be awesome if i could withdraw into MXN instead of withdrawing into USD and then exchange USD for MXN.

It is such a breath of fresh air not to hear or see the type of racism that exists in the interior of the US. We do not even have to go out on the weekend to have a relaxing recharging two days off. Not having neighbors that try to outdo each other on the size of their American flag outside their houses is also refreshing. Here most people do not wear their "patriotism" on their sleeves. Here national flags are for independence day.

I've been in Merida for nearly 2 years, I'm getting my temp residency this week as part of the RNE program. I love it here. Love the freedom, the relaxed way of life. People mind their own business because they're too busy living their lives and doing their own thing to worry about anyone else. I also talk to my neighbours. I love that. I feel like I'm part of the community. And as a woman, Mexican men are very nice.

yeah speaking of rules, when i lived in Zappopan i noticed there were more small family owned businesses than big ones leading to commercial and residential areas being mixed. I don't know what Mexico's version of the IRS is, but small businesses aren't being taxed to death so they're allowed to thrive. The landlord dealt in cash, was no rent application. Many businesses deal in cash to avoid paying taxes and nobody seems to get in trouble for tax evasion. You dont know how oppressive the IRS is until you live in Mexico lol.
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 2 месяца назад
SAT is the Mexican version of the IRS. The reason that so many people use cash in Mexico is exactly for that reason to avoid taxes. But it also gives individual more freedom as well as they avoid having to report transactions. But beyond that the enforcement of tax payment in Mexico is nothing like it is in the USA. It is such a pain for a typical Mexican to deal with the tax authorities here that many of them just flat out dont. Therefore since the system itself is inadequate for its citizens to deal with they can not go after you for lack of reporting. In fact rule of thumb in Mexico is, the smaller the business the less likely you have to report, but the bigger the business the more you are expected to file, report, and pay. It really is a trip to see Americans coming out here and getting upset they can not pay taxes in Mexico..... 😅

Back in 2010 or so, after getting sucked on a MLM ( Primerica), I once walked around some neighborhoods knocking doors delivering flyers. I was selling insurance. Once I stumbled upon this bitter old guy, who after saying he wasn't interested, asked if I had a licence. I, 19 years old, didn't even know there was a licence for such thing. I had, however, a license to sell life insurance. Long story short, he berated me, and since he worked for a police department ( but didn't seem a cop) said he could get me arrested. This was in LA. To think this idiot wanted to ruin me over that is just vile. I called my upline or mentor and didn't want to work again. Unfortunately in the USA people not just love to sue for money but love to get others in trouble for the sake of it Like when a neighbor snitched on a sister over her garage that was turned into a room. Yes, she didn't get the proper permits. But she threw away over 10k for nothing, was fined and had to also hire people to tear everything down. She went through a lot of emotional turmoil
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 2 месяца назад
As someone in the Comments once said about living in the USA it is not the Land of the Free anymore, it is the Land of the Fee. One thing I loved about living in Miami is that we had similar freedoms as we do out here in Mexico. The biggest culture shock for me was living in other parts of the USA and seeing exactly the same situation you were talking about. Just mean people constantly asking you for permits, and papers, and licenses and so on and so fourth. Most of the time just looking to ruin someones day or worse yet, their life, just for the sake of it. I don't miss living in the the Land of "Law and Order" and Over regulation one bit! Thanks for sharing! Viva Mexico!

Love your videos but personally I very much disagree with the title of this video. It’s not that Mexico doesn’t have rules, they just have very different ways of dealing with stuff. And I know this might come out of left field but I felt like there was much more rules down in Mexico than back home, this was in COVID 2021 btw maybe it’s different now. Also can’t do any drugs down there now not even cigarettes! Hope they can figure out something for the smoking/vaping, I love Mexico for what it is but until I stop smoking gonna be hard to go there.
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 2 месяца назад
I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Plenty of people consume recreational drugs out here, and smoke cigs and vape and all that. I guess the point I was trying to make is not that there are no rules, it is just that there is not that kind of heavy enforcement like there is in the USA. Again I have lived here for the past 6 years and was here during cvid and traveled during that time and I can honestly tell you everything was great. Not sure what part of Mexico you were in but from my experience Mexico has been a lot more free than anything I have ever experienced in the USA in my 35+ years there
