I wonder what Manderley was thinking. 1) He sent you out mostly alone on a couple of missions where you succeed against big odds 2) You just escaped from a max-security prison guarded by well-armed troops 3) You have augmentations. He's just a desk clerck and somehow he thinks that despite all the odds stacked against him he's going to kill JCD with a pistol.
I remember my first playthrough of this game. When Manderley said "You Dentons sure hung us out to dry!" I thought "You talking about my brother?", and went up behind him to pop him execution style.
@Thedutchjelle The thing is that you had the element of surprise all that time. Your strength lies in stealth. Otherwise, you're just as human as anyone else. In fact, this time HE had the element of surprise. If you turn around, he can shoot you in the head once or twice and you're down, as you did not expect it and could not react to it..
If you read some of the news things after (those news kiosks) this, it puts the death of manderley on your hands, even if you never kill him. Damn walton simons.
I could never kill Manderly, I tranq'd him instead. In fact I had a hard time bringing myself to kill anyone on my first play through, only MiB and the like died if I could help it. I mean, the NSF turn out to be the good guys, the UNATCO soldiers are just following orders, I suppose the MJ12 guys deserved it though.
I did a playthough where I would not kill UNATCO troops cause they were just following orders and prob didn't know they served MJ12 and NSF cause we are not cold blooded killers so I could only kill MJ12 troops and MIB
First time I played through it, I took the fire escape out of that hotel. Second time I had better aim and felt sure I could take out the MiB. And it worked :)
I don't either, maybe you walked out the room without turning your back to him? Or maybe he reacts differently if Anna is already dead? It could be a mod. Idk
I think if this were done now they'd have more interesting dialogue options with Manderley, seemed like an anticlimax almost and also a little odd considering he was just brushed aside and basically fired by Walton Simons. Guess he just wanted to go out all gun blazing
