I really loved your philosophy and I agree with you on every level. It it’s ridiculous that someone people do stupid things or barely anything and reap all the rewards while hard workers usually have a hard path to get there. However, even if it’s a hard road to succeed, we must keep moving forward.
Could I ever quote your philosophy? I promise you I’ll give you full credit for it I really liked it a lot “I am in the process of creating my own success and I’ll get there one day” are great words to live by.
Unpopular opinion: I didn’t feel sorry for Frank Grimes and was just a hater. Homer was trying his hardest to befriend him & was never purposely malicious. Homer has had hardships, too. Him losing his mother as a child, him giving up his dream job at the Bowling Away to provide for Maggie. Also, there’s people in the show, like Ol’ Gil & Moe who have even worst lives than Frank.
I absolutely agree! Homer had favor and as you stated Frank was envious of that. What’s for you is meant for you and some people hate that because they might lack that “it” factor. IMO I think this was the best Simpson episode ever because it had such a strong meaning behind. No matter what you do people will envy you for their lacking in something you have!
@@Cruddy129sometimes when I hear about people dying I smile. do I find it funny no? But I just smile, would I wish death on anybody no but I smile just cus sumbdys laughing don’t means he’s taking it as a joke
I don’t know if we can count moe since he destroys everyone else life Like whenever the guys stop drinking and actually improve their lives moe finds a way to lure them to alcohol
Thank you for making this video. This humbled me a good bit (which I needed in a good way). Having struggled through the school system being bullied, isolated, invalidated, and hurt while dealing with several mental disorders and loneliness in a way the average person doesn't deal with them, I have lost my sense of humanity and my sense of identity and have a huge mess. I see other people with mental health issues able to still have a sense of identity and have not lost their sense of humanity and I cant help but envy them for it and feel miserable. I don't look at it as deserve vs undeserving but more I don't have it and they have it and get to enjoy it Even if the specific circumstances are different Im glad I am not alone in envy and jealously as I feel it isn't brought up enough in today's society and this video gave me a little bit of hope
At least your working hard to get what you want. Some people, when they see others getting everything they could ever want instead blame someone or something else, and believe if they just get rid of that one thing or person, then all will be right.
Personally I find it kinda hard to feel bad for Grimes, as while his life does suck, Homer was just trying to be nice to him for the most part and Frank comes across as kinda judgemental and victim playing
Was it really envy though? Or was it the fact that encountering a person who’s existence defies the laws of physics and causality was too much for the guy to handle.
You know this episode is ironic and alot of people doesn't mentioned this for some reason but the way frank felt about homer is the same way homer felt abou flanders.
Starting the day with this video was such a vibe, your voice, anecdotes with the serious topics and even on top of that you have fun wit it and I can only respect and wait till next time I get to hear what you've got to say. Thanks man. Hope lifes going smooth :))
This couldn’t have came at a better time for me I had to drop out of hs due to family and personal reasons and my graduation year was supposed to be today seeing everyone graduate hurt my heart this video helps ease that pain tho
I thing a show that also show this concept is old SpongeBob when the one eye green guys finally gets everything he even wanted and was just not happy with the crabs life in fact he was depressed
reminds me of the book who moved my cheese. yes life is unfair as hell. but you still gotta do what you gotta do. you can help fight for more fair things while you do that. but you gotta do what you can. pulling yourself up by your bootstraps is impossible, but damn it all you gotta do what you can. it sucks it really does. hopefully someday things are better for everone.
To be fair, it wasn't just the envy. Homer clearly displayed his ill manners and incompetence. The problem was that there was never any measured response to it, or acknowledgement from others about it: - Frank told him not to call him Grimey, yet Homer continued to do so. - Frank stopped Homer from swallowing acid and not only does Homer fail to understand what he was doing, Frank took the hit for the damage. - Other colleagues questioning Frank as to what he has against Homer, yet they don't seem to understand. - Frank was shocked by Homer's reckless response to an emergency situation. - Homer sleeping through the lowering of Grimes' casket. When Frank schemed against Homer and exposed him to the others, he failed to take into account that these are the same people who are either used to Homer's actions, or are indifferent to it. Life was simply far more unfair to Grimes than to Homer Simpson. The more you work, the more rewards you earn - but quite often, that work you put in can end up with absolutely nothing in return.
When I turned 16, my parents made me take a drivers test, even though I don't like the idea of driving because it's dangerous. Years later, I still have a license but no car, because I don't need one since I take online college and do everything at home. But I always wonder why so many people dream of owning a car, when it's such a big responsibility, is dangerous, and have to deal with traffic and its laws. After describing why I was upset with be told to learn how to drive, others went up to me and told me that I was fortunate to have a family that would pay for my driving school, and that I would have to learn to drive sooner or later. I mean yeah, but that doesn’t mean I trust myself driving a car. I am accident prone, and I don't think I would ever be a safe driver. I've seen many car accident videos in driving school, and I just don't think I could handle it.
I try my absolute hardest to be fully grateful for my life Whenever I'm really angry about something I always stop think and tell myself my problems are nowhere near as bad as someone else's problems someone has it way harder than you
Frank Grimes represents what and how we're taught can make us succeed, overcoming adversities, struggling throughout life, not giving up he is a pretty goot analogy for the modern man while Homer sure he was forgiving most irl people related and felt for grimes because he was basically just a man from the real world in the simpsons. Most people cant see with homer here because how can you? He effectively ruined grimes's life and shattered his philosophy of work ethic.
I also feel like Frank Grimes and you sometimes. I started my own channel in 2021 and since then I’ve never gone a week without posting videos. I wish I had more to show for it like so many others. However, just like you I’m gonna go with your philosophy “I’m in the process of creating my own success and I’ll get there one day”. I wish the same thing for you and I hope I get my success too someday.
The part where homer throws water on the controls to fuck them up made me laugh so hard when I was a kid and then Franks face made me laugh even more😂😂😂😂
Honestly I'm so much of a hater but I can't stay jealous of anything after a while it jus fades into Idc or well I cld be worse and at least I have what I have
@@McBeannnn Ok, love your content though. The irony is that Rick Grimes was envious without context. That’s something people don’t get in today’s world. The lower class is jealous and angry at the wealthy without context that when they inherited the fortune, it was from grandparents that worked just as hard as you so their grandkids can live a better lifestyle. If Bruce Wayne crying in a nightmare about not being able to help the homeless cause he’s only one man isn’t enough to show the trauma that can be inflicted, then it’s the working men that becomes the parasite. Justifying robbing a bank to feed their families which is a noble cause but there will always be consequences. Even as a white boy, I didn’t grow up privileged. I grew up the middle class yes, but my mom had a habit of wasting money on furniture on Craigslist and IKEA, and she was the one that actually was given a car as a gift while my brother and sister had to pay for theirs.
You said 60th birthday, don't you mean 16th?, Anyway I know right getting a Tesla on someone's 16th birthday not a good idea, maybe when he or she is a little older and graduated from High school, then could get a Tesla, not as a birthday present but a graduation present, also you're right, moral of this Simpsons episode is never compare your life to other people's lives, it's an unhealthy obsession.
