Ok despite knowing the ending, that Rangchu AK set was a banger. That second game when AK was on a verge of losing the set but somehow found a low parry and had to make an adjustment to do the rage art AND then still had to hit Rangchu one more time to win and stay alive in the set was some incredible Tekken being played there
"Tekken 8 is not Tekken. Tekken 8 is too mashy and Defensive Play is not rewarded." 32:17 Tekken 8 actually incentivises both Players to use Sidestep. You could argue Tekken 8 is truer to the 3D Gameplay Concept than 7 was.
@@guyguy7002 Watch the finish of Grand Finals. What happens? Nobi gets a read on Rangchu's Timing, gets in, pushes him back to Neutral with the Axe Kick, and pulls the trigger on the Sidewalk Left to get around the Linearity of the Heat Smash. Maybe play the game or pay attention at all to what is happening on screen before attempting to rebut what is happening right before your very eyes. Tekken 8 is SICK.
@@zxcv neither, its the result of us being barely 4 months into a new game thats still receiving significant changes, its gonna take some time before things settle and people get comfortable with their characters again
I can speak from experience that if you don't hold the d input for at a minimum of 12 ms before you input slide or you just get crouch 3 , which is a horrible move that somehow always lands because it is so random to use it. AK really was winging that stick around real fast.
Watched most of this live on the stream at the weekend but re watching on my lunch break. Pretty much every set in that top 8 was amazing. Rangchu is my hero.
Mulgold showed something I recently experienced. I was a Lee main till T8 where my T7 setups did not work so well because of property changes. I mained my sub Bryan then tried Rein and Leo. Something did not click it felt like they did not have enough tools against other characters despite others finding success with them. A week ago. I got steamrolled from Ruler to Shinryu on my best character Lee. So I hit the lab and went through my movelist again everyday, careful while looking at individual properties. I found counterhits and guaranteed follow ups that never existed. Setups that do chunks of damage, despite 2 months of play and adjustments that took my 68 Damage combos to 74-83 damage combos or 91-105 with heat. I realised the same with Bryan. Many characters are insane in T8. Just that the top tiers are immediately noticeable and easier to execute their crazy stuff on but the rest are locked behind knowledge and proper integration.

Hi, I was banned by you on Twitch because I wrote Tekken sucks..I was just about to explain it, then you banned me..great streamer really...Tekken 8 is way too aggressive in the game style and everyone only plays the simplest ones champs. Super stupid. But thank you for not letting even a small comment from a depressed viewer pass through without an explanation afterwards. Didn't expect anything less from a Tekken nerd.
