@@samthibert6527 Griffey has a lower batting average 130 less home runs and a worse on base percentage than Barry bonds lol Griffey is my favorite player but bonds is the best
I agree that he’s one of the best players to play the game, but allowing him in the hall promotes cheating… other players are gonna say well if i cheat i’ll still make the hall of fame. Just not a good idea to let him in, he should be punished
@@georgecabany4373 bro you know before 2003 they didn't test players for steroids so many people in the league did it but none of them did what barry bonds did . That's just amazing talent. He belongs in the HOF
@@eveliovarela2279 Yeah no shit, but it doesn’t help the fact that if u let someone who cheated into the HOF it completely invalidates it. Other players will want to use steroid’s because they can cheat and get in so it won’t matter anymore. It straight up invalidates the game of baseball. That’s not to shit on how Bonds is still one of the best to ever do it, i still agree.
Plus it takes major skill to hit a baseball for example If I take steroids and go out onto a baseball field and go against an mlb pitcher I’ll strikeout every time
@@The-CoffeeMan Bonds did it once in 2004, 45 HRs to 41 SOs. He came close in 2002 when he hit 46 HRs and struck out 47 times. And then in 1994, he hit 37 HRs in the strike-shortened season while striking out only 43 times. Pujols came close twice, hitting 49 HRs while striking out 50 times in 2006 and going 46 and 52 in 2004. Simply put, his ability to make contact was incredible. From 2001-2010, he had the exact same batting average as Ichiro (.331) but struck out less often while hitting 300+ more HRs.
@@The-CoffeeMan I didn't know that about Brett. I just looked at his stats for 1980 and saw he had over 9 WAR (Reference and Fangraphs) in just 117 games. Everyone wonders if he could've finished hitting .400, but I want to know how high he could've gotten his WAR if he played a fuller season.
Bonds could’ve kept hitting bombs until he was 50 if an AL team picked him up after his last season with the Giants. His timing, bat speed and hand eye coordination were once in a lifetime.
If Bonds was never been blackballed he would have hit 800 homeruns 3000 hits 3,000 walks and 2,000 RBIs of his career and let's not forget he never planned to retire.. MLB is hating on Barry.. How hypocritical, pathetic and bitter by the baseball writers and MLB.. Bonds owns the league.. he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame steroids or not like it or not..
He was not even as good as trout, who is nowhere near the goat, before roids. Look at his numbers before and after the juice. And that’s assuming he didn’t take any type of juice before…
@@mikemoggerson6651he was better than trout by a decent margin and if you think trout isn’t on ped’s you are a fool. His head nearly tripled in size in one season
@@assassin415 even if trout is, not nearly to the same extent bonds is. And NO he wasn’t lmfaooo?? Look at Bonds’ stats on Pittsburgh on baseball reference. Roughly equal, if not worse to Trout’s. Guy started to become 2x as good in his late 30s…I wonder why lol.
first 13 years of both careers bonds has more hits, doubles, triples, steals, home runs, rbi's and ops. less stikeouts more walks 8 gold gloves to zero same mvp's and 99.9 war > 85.2 war. Bonds was actually significantly better than trout "pre-peds" @@mikemoggerson6651
Almost a decade later, he still knocking them out the park. This brotha just had pure talent, one of the best to ever play the game. The powers that be didn’t like when he said he wasn’t worried about breaking Arron’s record, he just wanted to surpass Babe Ruth, cause Babe was a lefty. That’s all it took & those white folks got mad AF & that’s when they went after Barry Bonds.
Talent? You don't win home run derby against guys in their 20s when you're in your 50s with just talent. That takes a ton of smarts and determination, too.
@@TigerofRobare yes you can my friend. He was & is still in great shape. 50 is not old especially when you take care of yourself, eat right, exercise & your body will continue to love you.
Bonds wasn’t even as good as trout until after roids. His best years came in his late 30s after his head size doubled and he put on about 70 lbs of muscle lmfao. His numbers over his first 12 years weren’t even as impressive as Trout, let alone the TRUE goat candidates.
@@mikemoggerson6651 Then you don’t know anything about Barry Bonds. Bonds won 3 mvp awards before steroids was even in the picture. Naw, they only came after Bonds of what he said about alcoholic Babe Ruth. Actually Babe Ruth stats shouldn’t even count because, he never played against the best ball players. The league was all white, black players weren’t allowed to play. So Ruth stats means nothing.
@@noinweYou should watch what you say. Every era has its own issues. Barry is a HoFamer just as much as Ruth is but dont get carried away saying racist shit.
I have never gotten a projected distance on that first Barry Bonda home run in the video. That thing is an absolute fucking moonshot. You can't even tell where the ball is cause he hit it onto the ozone layer
@@BillRobertsonEM1CCUSNRhe fought with his teammates a lot when he was on the pirates, even fought with his manager. He got along w most of his teammates on the Giants but even then some of his teammates did not like him. He was a terrible guy to the media, and just a bad, unlikeable, person in general. But he was great, way before steroids he was winning MVPs and golden gloves. Easily deserves to be in the Hall off his pre-steroid years alone. And a lot of guys took roids back then… none of them were doing what Barry was doing
@@FlashyShad He was liked by his GIANTS teammates. He did not like the media because the media treated him like shit. Just like most of the media is not truthful about Trump. Bonds did have those in the media that he liked and because he would only do interviews with those few reporters, the rest of the media was jealous, rude to him. I met Barry 3 times; all 3 times he was courteous, asked questions about my injuries, my family and seemed genuine. I’ve met many baseball players over the years, know what it takes to achieve greatness. Bonds put in the work in the 90’s. I worked out with SEALs every day of my 26 year career. 4 hours a day of calistenics, followed by a 9 mile run, followed by 1500 meter swim in the pool. That wasn’t shit compared to what Barry put in each day. His teammates knew what he did, how hard he worked and he challenged them to become better. I think people misread his relationships by what was written about him; much of it was lies. If you want to know the truth about Barry, his godfather will tell you the truth. That man has nothing to hide about Barry.
I’m pretty sure bonds 3/7 MVPs even before he was accused of steroids and before he was a great power hitter buddy had wheels, with out a doubt he should Be in the hall
But but but I thought athletes was way bigger, stronger, faster tuh-dayyyy 😢. Remember guys who played pro sports prior to 2010 were in the dark ages. They wouldn’t make the pros today! Michael Jordan was being guarded by plumbers, Barry Bonds was being pitched to by auto mechanics. Am I doing this correctly?
Barry would not have been a first ballot HOFer if he retired after 1998. You're seriously overestimating the intelligence of the BBWAA. Baseball Writers, for the most part, are incredibly stupid and don't understand a thing about what actually wins baseball games. They never understood just how good Bonds was.
@@JamesAvila-xu7ds And now, the NBA has moved its money for development over seas. MLB in the 90's moved all there money out of our neighborhoods to the islands. Not even understanding your response.
Steroids, as much as the BBWAA and mlb might not want to admit, were major part of baseball. They, ironically enough, SAVED baseball, especially after the 1994-95 strike. We can put steroid users in the hall with the understanding of what they did. We can appreciate what they did while also recognizing that, yes, they also cheated.
Idc.bonds best player hands down.if my team is down and i need a run or hit or walk.bonds is my go to guy.you know he is gonna make great Contact or walk.steroids or not
uh right, exactly. steroids or not he was an amazing baseball player. steroids don’t make you good at baseball, they make you stronger. a roided up player who couldn’t put bat on ball before the juice won’t be able to after. while cheating definitely takes away from his legacy, steroids affect one aspect of a game with countless, even just on the hitting side.
@@mattyice2889 how exactly did he cheat? Steroids weren’t banned from use in the MLB until 2005, HgH wasn’t banned until 2011. Bonds never failed an MLB drug test, and retired in 2007, so at most he used a banned substance for a maximum of 2 years, well after he had solidified a HoF worthy career
@@godlyflikqz2725 Helps you get the power behind the hit. Bonds before it was a good hitter, but not what he did. Roids definitely helped him Sosa, and Mark out. To think it didn’t help at all, you’re a moron.
