The Toadstools & Horseshoe Bend!! Cooler Than I Thought!

I explore a few short hikes near Page, AZ. The Toadstools and then head to Horseshoe Bend to watch the sunset!! WOW!
The Toadstools are in Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument in Utah near Page, AZ. I later drive back through Page to go to Horseshoe Bend. I thought Horseshoe Bend might be more of a tourist trap but it was amazing. Really took my breath away the first time I saw it.
I'm currently camped on peaceful Lake Powell at Lone Rock Beach in Utah.

You know Bex, sometimes when I am watching videos if I don't seem interested in it I will just mute it and run it thru for their algorism support. But to this day I have never muted one of your video's. I just HAVE to watch it they are so good! Some I will even watch again another time. No joke. Bex you picked the perfect time to videotape Horseshoe Bend. The light bouncing off the rock was amazing. You should have yelled “hoodoo” and we’d all hysterically laugh when a responding echo replied “youdo.” 🤪 As you came around that perched rock I saw the image of an Indian’s profile ever present there. 🪶 You looked so at peace and “in your element” as the sun lowered on the horizon while photographing your final glimpse of Horseshoe Bend. I think a sunrise return would be just as enthralling. 🌵

Think you Bex. I love your videos you never Pan too fast you always are slow enough that I can take in the entire picture other people just Pan really fast they give you just a smalle view and you don't have time to soak it in I love it because you give me time to soak in the view and so beautiful thank you Bex

When my kids were in grade school we lived in Page at the edge of the Mesa overlooking Lake Powell (or it seemed it should have!) Anyway we used to camp on the beaches of Lake Powell. It was like being in another world, yet I could sit on the beach and look up at my kids’ elementary school on the Mesa and know my house was 1/10th of a mile from there!

Great photography! I was at the Horseshoe bend overlook a few years ago. I don't remember there being a paved platform and railings. You were on your own to decide how close to the edge you wanted to get! I got closer than many, but not as close as some.

They did a complete overhaul last year with a new paved lot, new trails, overlook and fees. The paved part of the overlook is pretty small and you can still wander all around the edge though.

I'm so damn lucky I was there many years ago when nobody knew about it. Had the whole place to myself. No pathways or commercial lots or fences. Parked in a small gravel lot close the highway.
