@@filmcomicsexplained Thanks man. I really thought that Justice League back then was directed by Zack Synder. Now I know it repurposed by a half-ass bastard who wants to ruined a masterpiece of DCEU. Because of this and you, I have now a motivation to get into Synder's Cut.
At this point its probably ego and denial that is stopping WB. It seems WB is hell bent on emulating MCU and Snyderverse just doesn't match what they want.
@@weybye91 to be fair. Barry mentioned that he was “breaking the rule” which says to me that his solo film (which we didn’t get) probably dealt with the wonderful effects and outcomes of Barry time traveling.
@@weybye91 There is a butterfly effect tho, in comics and most probably the movie. Im fairly certain the Knightmare universe became a reality because of that one action.
@@weybye91 ya but how do you know she wouldnt have died if Flash didnt mettle with time? Everythings intricate when it comes to flash comics and almost every major event like this has some level of altercation
having finally watched the 2017 version about 2 weeks before the snyder cut dropped, the differences between the two is so staggering and really baffling. i was left sort of speechless on how truly disrespectful the 2017 version was to zack snyder's vision and obvious passion for these numerous movies
I thought the snyder cut made more sense, but it also made me wonder what snyder would've cut to get the movie down to a more palatable 3-ish hours. A 4-hr movie by anyone is a hard ask.
So by reducing 3 of the characters to useless muppets is an improvement? really, what is it now Barry dos in Snyders virsion? ohhh right nothing except running in a fucking circle
@@weybye91 that's not what I meant and you know it. I meant that the Snyder cut being quite an improvement was an understatement. It was a definite improvement. Last I checked this was RU-vid, not the WWE. And the flash is a speedster, he's supposed to run
They need to make this cut canon at the very least if they’re not going to restore the Snyder verse. Let’s be honest, how far do they think they’ll actually get with that trash from 2017?
As always , another reboot/remake lmfao . DCU is probably the only thing that have like 50 different version of Superman and Batman , all because of the money hungry executive. They’re the EA of Hollywood
Steppenwolf is much better in ZSJL He is stronger and more intimidating and a actual threat to the justice league. And I personally prefer his amor in ZSJL, it looks cool
I wondered if Whedon was trying to make Flash the quirky, fun speedster that the MCU couldn't get right after the success of Evan Peters in the fox X-Men.
The most the avengers have done to show thanos they were a threat before he came is stop his planned invasion of earth, but the league literally sends a message to darkseid’s own face in front of his two most trusted disciples that they are not to be fucked with. Showing they are the Worlds Greatest Heros. That is a message.
Yeah a message that says were murderes and unheroic assholes and we can do any thing we want like kill our enemies because this not the JL. The word justice does not mean killing to solve a problem it only makes you as evil as those you are fighting, Zach Synder, is out of touch of reality, the guy has only style and that's slowwww motionnnn. It was insane to make it 4 hours long, especially when 70% of it has nothing to do with the movie at all. This never should've seen the light of day, because its the worst comic book movie in history. P.S If anyone has a problem with what I have posted than don't read it.
@@spencerbruehl9305 The first one was horrible the new one is actually quite good so I dont know where you came up with it being the worst in history. The worst comic book movies in history were the batman and robin, daredevil, and green lantern. I like how you tried to run from getting criticized of your stupid opinion by telling everyone to not read it. If thats the case why post it anyway?
Someone pointed how both BvS and the Snyder Cut begin with the end of the previous film, which ties everything together and shows the impact of the previous film's finale. It's a small thing that really adds a lot to these films.
I loved the intro. The film did a great job of showing us how screwed humanity is without Superman. And even With Superman, we never know. That's why I'm so bbn happy Clark has the Black Suit. The man of steel certainly is back. But, he's changed
I love how you pointed out how clear it is that Superman uses the black suit. Yes he uses a black suit in the comics that absorbs solar radiation to heal, but I love how you stated "he's back, but not the same"
Also jl members didn't notice that he was kind of brutal to steppie be for they cut his head off hinting that he is definitely not the same might be just a reach though
The knightmare scene in the Snyder Cut is without a doubt a reference to Injustice: Gods among us; Lois lane dies, Superman loses it and forms a regime(with Darkseid). And Batman Forms the insurgency(with Joker).
No the overwhelming loss of Lois Lane opens him up for control from the anti life equation. Similar to that last episode of superman the animated series.
@@jessemillan1385 definitely a reference but not him choosing to do so like in injustive. Snyder confirmed it was a combination of Lois' death and anti life equation years ago.
@@jessemillan1385 I'm going to assume darkseid did it I mean he's standing right there plus the omega beams. And we know certain emotions play into the anti life equation
I loved this cut!!! So much better with the use of all the charectors which seemed to share their time on screen instead of reducing half the cast to basically being extras, it was amazing
@@filmcomicsexplained the funny thing is that your videos are very serious, but you perfectly inject humor into it as well; demonstrating how to actually pull off a joke, without betraying the overall seriousness of the plot. Something Joss Whedon should have learnt. Lol
I love that you said "streets ahead", and to do it in such a way that it seems integrated in your vocabulary, this is clearly a sign of a "Community" fan.
Darkseid is not someone like Thanos who wants the Universe to be saved him in the most gruesome manner. Darkseid is someone who wants to conquer and be looked upon as a god by many . . .
I just pray that people start opening up to the idea of 4 hour movies. The ability to tell full complete stories without compromising character development can't be overstated. I loved this way more than I thought possible
i adore the old epics for that reason, hell they had literal intermissions! I really want to see the stories that can be crafted with time constraints being let go of.
Matt Pat made a very compelling argument that both versions of the film are more or less cannon. The flash's flashpoint could be the key to retconning the whole mess
I have to say at first the MCU Humor was nice but the whole destroying serious moments with stupid jokes that Plaque waaaaay to many movies nowadays simply trigger my gag-reflex now...
This. This all damn day. There are too many times where I was invested emotionally, or a character had suffered and it was immediately glossed over. The ratio of letting a scene breath and undercutting it with a joke is jist too much.
Humors fine but it can't get in the way of the believability of the situation. If the threat is something the heroes feel they might not be able to handle, then they need to stop joking because if they don't take the threat seriously, neither will I.
Masterpiece. Worth all the hashtags, petitions and truly a great victory moment for the fans. It was everything we dreamt of and every believers' faith rewarded. A great movie and a great moment to be alive.
Wait so they hired Joss Whedon because Snyder was unable to finish the movie due to a horrible event that happened to him, and whedon just changes the whole movie, erasing all the work of Snyder?? That’s just evil, he stole the movie from a grieving man.
This film was amazing, granted there were so many bits that were confusing or stupid, like: - How they used ancient lamenation so many times it made my head hurt - Their over usage of bright lights - Cyborg saving someone's life only to say his powers are a curse five seconds later - It ends on a cliffhanger despite being noncanon and not having a sequel - Kinda scared me somethings but it was forgivable with - good acting - good CGI - intense world-building - hidden details - show not tell - great writing
This movie was beautiful. Initially i was not supportive of the Snyder cut and i didn't care for it since i had mixed feelings for his previous DC movies . But damn he had a vision for this movie . I thought this movie would have sucked but ut didn't.Also the run time didn't bother me since there was nothing that could have been cut and wasn't essential to the story . Hope snyder gets to put his vision to the big-screen
I’ve been told when directors create a film they’re truly into, that they put a piece of them selves into it. And the fact that Warner Brothers got Wheaton and butchered Snyder’s vision so badly and released it in that laughable state must have tore Snyder apart..especially with him dealing with his daughters death. I’m glad his vision was able to be released and he got the recognition he deserved!
I honestly don’t think the movie is longer than it needs to be. It needed to tell a story and connect to an audience that had largely written this off as a cash grab from a studio. These (DCEU) films are going to be compared to MCU films, that’s just how it is, and they are at a time disadvantage. While Marvel had years to fleshing out characters and back stories, they did not. After this 4 hour run time, I am more invested in these characters than ever before. I’d say that this movie did what it was originally tasked with, connect with the audience. I loved this movie. I’ve watched it twice.
You should seriously do a video on the Man of Steel "lore" talking about things like the Codex, the World Engine (especially) and Krypton specifically from that film
That's an awfully heavy accusation that you have absolutely no proof for. Whedon fucked up the movie because he fucked up. Whedon didn't have to do anything to sabotage WB and the DCEU, they were doing just fine sabotaging themselves.
What I loved about the film the most is that it's a redemption story. Almost all of the characters got redeemed in one form or another. Hell... even the score too. The only part that sucks is not we may never to see parts 2 and 3 for Justice League and that it had to take the studios interfering along with the death of Zack's daughter for this to happen.
@@HELLO_KORO well you gotta remember that Snyder's Batman is modeled after Frank Miller's Bat's in The Dark Knight Returns. Hence the darker tone of the Snyderverse.
Appreciate you homie, glad to see you havent changed your voice since the first couple of videos. Ive been in France for the past 6 months in lockdown. Coming back to your channel makes me miss Australia and what my simpler life was when i was watching you. Glad youve grow as much as you have.
playing Devil's Advocate, I'd argue that if Joss Whedon had been given A-creative control from the beginning rather than having to fill some very influential shoes and B-was allowed to make a 4-hour movie; if not for those 2 major factors I think Joss could've produced a great Justice Leauge. Having to slice the Zack Snyder version in half to be released in theaters could've been its undoing; I know I had to take a break from all the bleakness halfway through. There are no peaks and valleys of emotion, just depressing sadness and dark depressing colors, which is why I like Joss's version, there's a break from the bleakness w/ humor.
The problem with Snyder movies is that his movies tend to have a lot of bloat to them because the scripts try to cover too much ground. Snyder had to add 30 minutes to Dawn od Justice to get the movie to make any sense. 30 minutes is a lot just for clarity. JL suffers from the same problem, only this time, he nearly doubled the original runtime.
ZSJL is way better than WJL. It answers all the questions, I had after watching WJL. At first I was hesitant on whether to watch ZSJL, and now I'm glad I took the plunge.
Lmao! "Streets ahead" I find myself using that, unironically, every now and then as well. It always feels natural but I still laugh when I realize I've said it.
I could not agree more with Nyat. The Snyder Cut was definitely a massive imporvement from the Whedon cut. Despite the time length, the film does a great job in terms of story, character development and tone of the film as well as each scene.
While the Snyder Cut was great, let's not act as if the music in some places wasnt pretentiously as cringey as the out of place jokes in the Joss We-write. Snyder definitely gets the characters. Especially Wonder Woman-who had to be my favorite next to Batman(Batman fan) and Cyborg, who was handled absolutely amazingly. And the slow motion was a little heavy handed
@@youtubewatcher6124 personally, I prefer her theme in BVS and her first movie. The Amazon theme was cool in spots. But, it did get a little heavy handed
@@lilkingg82 While agreeing on the overuse of the Amazon theme I would have to disagree on the rest of the sound choices as I think they were phenomenal and for the slo-mo, it's a freaking zack snyder movie bro..
@@Faizan_Ali22 Zack's watchmen was garbage, comic is the real legend, and it was not "his" story anyway. He did one of the biggest mistakes a director can do with a political movie, which is to make it "epic" and taking all the attention towards the fights rather than emotional catches like comics. If you're one of the people who wet their pants on sexy CGIs, I take that you didn't got a drop of what I said. And if you're not, I hope you got it.
The movie could have been cut to 3:30 or maybe 3:15 hours to be released into cinemas. Audiences in theaters would have lost their shit with Barry time reverse and darkseid saying let's do it the old ways. This movie really deserved to be seen on a big screen with Audience cheering beside.
Hey film comic. If I can help explain some things. The black suit has been in comics before. It's a regen suit. It's meant to collect way more solar power and radiation then the normal suit. He is back but he is now whole. As for superman attacking the leauge cyborgs auto systems attacked first. If the system didn't activate he wouldn't have attacked. He was confused and attacked on instinct. Lois just woke him up.
i actually liked the Lasso of Truth bit with Aquaman i mean yes it really didnt fit but i still liked it but that was probaly more to do with Jason Momoa been epic even when he is making a fool of himself.
The Snyder Cut was really good. I really liked all of the added scenes with Cyborg. Ray Fisher did a fantastic job portraying Victor Stone. All of the extra scenes combined with Ray Fisher’s ability to emote his feelings of depression, despair, and the uncertainty of his transformation from man to machine really pushed Cyborg’s arch forward. I also feel that Aquaman was portrayed better in the Snyder Cut. In the Joss Whedon version, Aquaman comes off as kind of a simple minded surfer dude which I didn’t like at all. Actually all of the extra screen time the heroes got made all of there personal story arch’s flow a lot better. But I think Superman received the best treatment from the Snyder Cut. He looked so Badass in the Black Costume and I’m glade we had the opportunity to see him in it. Overall I was extremely pleased with Snyder’s final version. It’s a total shame things didn’t work out during the production of Justice League. It just sucks that after we finally got to see Zack Snyder’s vision come to fruition, WB/DC have zero plans of continuing where Zack Snyder left off.
Warner Bros have basically ensured they will NEVER have a cinematic universe on par with that of the MCU, and what I find most egregious is that it screams deliberation on their part
Call me crazy but I really enjoyed the original Justice League and then Snyders cut came out and I was even more impressed about how much better and how much Snyders cut is just so much superior than the original even with the movie being a little over four hours in which I was okay with. I truly believe that Synder understands the true essence of DC comics and how they should be seen in a way on how dark DC Comics are, can be, and will be. Snyder should be way more praised than what everyone thinks of him. Snyder should be the leader in the DC universe and every director should take note from him and Patty Jenkins in what it means on how DC comics should be envisioned. Snyder and Patty do the DC Comics Universe with justice and many wonders!
To be really fair, that part of the kids asking Superman what he likes best about Earth and he pauses to contemplate.. is way more of a powerful start than the Snyder Cut's. Too bad the moustache matter distracted a bit from the emotion there.
God bless Zack Snyder Even after a family tragedy and WB replacing him with Joss Whedon he listened to fans and made the true version of the movie not that garbage fire that released three years ago Ever since Man of Steel I wanted to see more of his work on the DC Universe Same goes for Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition If studios don't interfere with a director's vision the result will always be great Really looking forward to his plans
Snyder’s vision for the DCEU is far and away better than MCUish feel without him. The Snyder Cut no longer has the League feel like a re-skinned Avengers sequel. Zack’s fingerprints rightly deserve to be on any future DCEU films. The only film that comes close to matching the tone and intensity of the Snyder Cut is the original Wonder Woman, in my humble opinion. And as much as I loved Aquaman, it was still far to campy had a little too much “tongue in cheek” humor. But I still love and rewatch it often. Warner Brothers studios would be insane not to allow Snyder to continue his vision for the DCEU, if they can convince him to step back into the director’s shoes. Can you imagine Black Adam as seen through the eyes of Zack Snyder? Breathtaking!
I never watched the original justice league. The Snyder cut was my first taste and I honestly still think some stuff was glossed over. Watching this explains a little bit more. I don't think this movie was made for non DC fans.
It has a purpose though, directly to Lois as she has a big role for Clark especially with her meeting him at the resurrection scene. Without her JL would've been a mess.
Zack Snyder is the best thing to happen to Justice League. Joss’s version was boring and I honestly forgot it. ZSJL was four hours and I didn’t notice at all.
I’ll be completely honest, as much as it didn’t fit with what should’ve been the tone of the movie, I loved the scene of Aquaman on the lasso of truth 😂
The only thing I would've changed is removing the reveal that the "Martha" who had the talk with Lois was actually Martian Manhunter. I would've preferred a version of the scene where the two closest people to Clark had an actually genuine bonding moment.
